Fido's Birthday Party Cake
This recipe is a birthday cake for your doggie! There is nothing harmful in it if you wanted to take a bite but I have no idea why you would want to! Bon Appetit to your doggie(s)!
1 1/2 C wheat flour or white flour 1 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/2 C soft butter 1 small jar meat baby food, any flavor 3 eggs 2 strips doggie beef jerky or real bacon bits
~ Cream Cheese Frosting ~
8 oz nonfat cream cheese, room temperature 1 tsp honey 1/2 tsp of vanilla
Preheat oven to 325*
Grease and flour one 6" pan and 4-5" springform pan
Cream butter until smooth.
Add baby food, and eggs. Mix until smooth.
Mix dry ingredients into beef mixture until batter is smooth.
Crumble doggie beef jerky or bacon bits and fold into batter.
Pour batter into pans. Bake 40 minutes or until done.
It will be more like the texture of a quick bread than a cake. Somewhat dense.
Cool on wire rack 15 minutes. Ice with recipe below.
If you are serving 1-2 dogs I suggest using the 4? cake. 3-4 dogs serve the 6? cake. More than that- stack them up and use them both.
Store unused cake in the freezer. They keep very well and no dog has complained about frozen cake yet!
Store uneaten cake in refrigerator.
~ Cream Cheese Frosting ~
Beat cream cheese, honey & vanilla until fluffy & frost cake
Cinnamon variation: To the above recipe, add 2 teaspoons of cinnamon.
