For those who don't know, I have a son (who is 26 years old) who is also gay and who lives down in Florida with his BF (whom I also love with all my heart and I am constantly praying for). They've been there for a year now and all has been going really well for them (they have an awesome apartment, an awesome job and a great bunch of new friends) until my son's mini-cooper's engine blew up several months ago. They only have this one car so it was devastating to them when this happened. They don't have any money to fix it and they needed a car to get to work! And he is still paying on the darn thing on top of that!
So he asked me to pray and in the meantime he put the car in the shop and had friends take him and his BF to work and to the store and stuff. His job has this plan where the employees can contribute (it's voluntarily, they don't have to) to an emergency fund for any employee who may need it for anything (this is for all employees, nationwide). So his boss found out about his situation and put my son's name up for this emergency fund and the main headquarters accepted it! They gave my son $3000 to fix his car! We were all over the roof!
So now they waited for their car to be fixed and waited, and waited...finally the new engine was in. But the car kept breaking down and my son had to keep taking it back to the shop for different things that kept popping up. You can imagine how stressful this situation was to my son and to us all! The mechanic was nice enough to lend him his truck so they could get to work (even though it was old and pretty beaten up). When I went down there last month to visit, that's what he had. Hey I was just thrilled to be down there with him I didn't care what we drove around in! I was just happy to be there! But the mechanic needed his truck back which left my son once again without transportation.
So completely frustrated and at the end of his rope, he called my daughter asking what he should do and my daughter (who just recently been saved, I shared her story with you in this thread I think). She told him to get the car out of the shop and let God handle the rest. Stop dragging it out. She thought God was trying to show him through all of this that He had something going on behind the scenes and to trust in Him to work it all out for the best! And boy did it!
Here is the email I got from my son this morning I wanted to share with you all:
MOMMY ❤️
The nightmare is OVER! So much to fill you in on.
Ok so I got the mini back from the shop and it once again still had issues with it. The battery was draining and would need a jump every time I tried to start it. I was so upset. When I returned the mini he didn't have the red truck for me to borrow, so I went back to being completely car-less, that's when I emailed you because I was so upset. I had a long talk with Jessi and I finally decided to get my car back and just let the bank take it, and would need to save for something on the side of the road.
So I called the shop the Thursday morning and told him I'm coming to get my car and just charge the battery. He was baffled but knew I was DONE. He told me he would see if he could find the drain and call me back within an hour, he called 5 minutes later and said basically he was going to wipe the slate clean, so we don't pay him anymore money. It saved us over 1500 bucks! I NEVER have to see that shop or that man again! HORRAY!!
So I pick up the mini and go straight to the Daytona auto mall. My friend Michelle from work, the one who got us the deal for our rental over Christmas, had told us to visit her friend that sold her, her jeep. This guy was AMAZING. Very friendly and didn't talk to Robby or I like we were stupid. He didn't act like a car salesman, he acted like a friend. I didn't go in thinking I would drive off the lot with a new car, let alone A BRAND new car.
He appraised my mini and it only valued at 4 grand, but he gave us 9 grand! To help wipe out my negative equity because I owed 12,000 on the mini. And took the renaming 3 grand and put it on my payments for my Dart! Because it was the end of the month and they had to meet a certain query for selling, they knocked off a grand from my Dart, and paid off the mini.
I have 100 thousand mile warrantee, as well as an extended warrantee for 100 thousand mile roadside assistance. If I break down anywhere, anytime they come and fix my car for free. I have free car washes at the auto mall for life, and free oil changes for 2 years! When I drove the car off the lot it had only 32 miles on it!
I know God is and was behind all of this. The timing and just how things panned out couldn't have just happened by coincidence, he definitely master minded this. And I'm SO thankful, but I feel so bad. Because while I should have trusted him to begin with, I was sad and angry. And I spent a lot of days in a funk. I hope he understands. I've prayed and I tell him constantly I'm sorry and thank you so much. I just feel like he gave me more than I really deserved. I'm so so so grateful. He gave me a new chance. Like I get to start fresh. I'm so happy:) I can't wait till you get back here permanently. I would much rather sit on the patio and talk to you.
But it will happen! I've learned this time to let God handle what I can't control. I'm going to try to always keep my head up, and just have faith. I have faith you will be living here with me soon. When God knows it's time and it's perfect. Because YOU deserve the world and more.
