President Trump Makes New Statement on ‘Corrupt’ Former Manhattan D.A. Attorney Mark Pomerantz
by Kari Donovan March 20, 2023 OPINION: This article contains commentary which may reflect the author’s opinion Lionhearted President Donald J. Trump has been a persistent target of Anti-American proponents, and he is facing a possible arrest by a radical leftist New York District Attorney if a leak from a DA’s office to the media is to be believed. On Friday, news broke that five senior law enforcement officials told NBC News that law enforcement agencies are conducting “preliminary security assessments” for the Manhattan Criminal Court in case Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D) brings charges. In response to this news, President Trump responded on Saturday morning, saying that he would be “arrested” on Tuesday: “Our nation is now the third world and dying. The American dream is dead! The radical left anarchists have stolen our presidential election and with it, the heart of our country. American patriots are being arrested and held in captivity like animals, while criminals and leftist thugs are allowed to roam the streets, killing and burning with no retribution. Millions are flooding through our open borders, many from prisons and mental institutions. Crime and inflation are destroying our very way of life. Now illegal leaks from a corrupt and highly political Manhattan district attorney’s office, which has allowed new records to be set in violent crime and whose leader is funded by George Soros, indicate that, with no crime being able to be proven and based on an old and thoroughly debunked (by numerous other prosecutors!) fairytale, the far and away leading Republican candidate and former president of the United States of America, will be arrested on Tuesday of next week. Protest, take our nation back!” The media coverage saw the opportunity as a juicy opportunity to discredit Trump and his supporters. Trump issued a fiery new statement Monday about the Manhattan DA office, which is seeking an indictment against him: “The lead prosecutor for the corrupt Manhattan D.A.’s office worked as a lawyer for crooked Hillary Clinton and her law firm, left this Democrat firm with others to volunteer to ‘get Donald Trump’ at the D.A.’s office, for free,” Trump wrote. “He quit in a huff when D.A. Bragg said there was no case here. He then unethically & illegally wrote & published a book about the case while it was going on. This is unheard of ‘stuff.’ The case is now completely compromised & reports are that Mark Pomerantz is in trouble.” And now there is some more scrutiny on Pomerantz’s behavior, and Bragg’s showing a pattern of stalking Trump and trying to harm him to gain a political advantage. In a recent appearance on MSNBC, as previously reported by the DC Enquirer, Trump lawyer Joe Tacopina laid out how Mr. Pomerantz actively went after Trump and, in doing so, compromised the case against him as written by Sterling Mosely reported for DC Enquirer, adding: Tacopina states that when Pomerantz quit his job at a law firm to become a DA prosecutor against Trump in his own book commented that he was not paid for his service and that he would have paid to prosecute Mr. Trump. The outlet continued: “Mr. Tacopina said “Prosecutors are supposed to be blind when it comes to dishing out justice….then he [Mr. Pomerantz] goes in there looking for a crime to fit the person- it is not supposed to be that way in our system…then he signs a document and in that document, it states ‘if you reveal grand jury information’ – which is any information according to this document-‘that you get during this investigation…to a third party it is a felony under New York State law.” The situation is so odd that the whole thing is being named after a ‘corpse revived by witchcraft’. Trump’s lawyer pointed out that the book Mr. Pomerantz wrote violated this agreement and that he believed that Mr. Pomerantz’s license would be taken from him and that the former DA may face criminal charges. Mr. Tacopina also pointed out that in Pomerantz’s book, the case revolving around Stormy Daniels was referred to as a “zombie case” that no prosecutor would touch. When Mr. Melber later showed Trump’s payments to Mr. Cohen and touted this as evidence of Trump paying Stormy Daniels, Mr. Tacopina noted that all the payments showed what Trump gave money to Mr. Cohen and that Stormy Daniels was not mentioned in them. Mr. Tacopina said, “he was invoiced by Mr. Cohen for legal fees.” Being raised by witchcraft is a good way to describe what is unfolding. “Despite these complications, Bragg is attempting to charge Trump with an illegal election contribution via a $130,000 payment paid to Stormy Daniels based on the word of the disgraced lawyer, and convicted liar, Michael Cohen. Cohen, Trump’s former lawyer, pleaded guilty in 2018 to federal charges including five counts of tax invasion, one count of willfully causing an unlawful corporate contribution, and one count of making an excessive campaign contribution at the request of a candidate. In addition, Cohen was charged with lying to Congress,” Mosley reported, adding more details about previous coverage of similar cases to what Trump is being rumored to being charged with: In 2013, Obama’s 2008 campaign was fined one of the largest fines in presidential campaign history with a $375,000 fine from the Federal Election Commission (FEC) for campaign reporting violations. In 2022, Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) settled an FEC investigation into whether they violated campaign finance laws by paying a $113,000 Steele dossier fine. Despite these precedents, D.A. Bragg is still pursuing a case against the 45th president. link

Donald Trump Jr. and Others Blast DeSantis Response to Looming Donald Trump Arrest: ‘Pure Weakness’
HANNAH BLEAU 20 Mar 2023 Donald Trump Jr. and others criticized Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) for dismissing the rumors of a looming indictment of former President Donald Trump at the hands of leftist Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg as a “manufactured” circus that he wants no involvement in, concluding that the governor is displaying “weakness.” DeSantis weighed in on the news of the looming indictment during Monday’s press conference, stating that he is aware of the rumors of the indictment but has not seen any “facts” yet. “I don’t know what’s going to happen. But I do know this: The Manhattan district attorney is a Soros-funded prosecutor,” DeSantis said, proceeding to slam Bragg’s lack of priorities in his jurisdiction, as crime runs rampant throughout the city. These Soros-backed prosecutors, he continued, “weaponize their office to impose a political agenda on society at the expense of the rule of law and public safety,” which is “fundamentally wrong.” However, DeSantis appeared to dismiss the entire narrative, telling reporters that he has “real issues” to focus on in the Sunshine State. “We are not involved in this [and] won’t be involved in this,” DeSantis said, reiterating that he has “no interest in getting involved in some type of manufactured circus by some Soros DA.” “I’ve got so many things pending in front of the legislature. I’ve got to spend my time on issues that actually matter to people. I can’t spend my time worrying about things or things of that nature, so we’re not going to be involved in any way,” he added. However, that answer did not sit well with Donald Trump Jr., who expressed that Democrats weaponizing the law to target the former president and 2024 presidential contender is, in fact, a “real issue.” “So DeSantis thinks that Dems weaponizing the law to indict President Trump is a ‘manufactured circus’ & isn’t a ‘real issue,’ he said of the Florida governor, then added, “Pure weakness.” He went on to state, “Now we know why he was silent all weekend. He’s totally owned by Karl Rove, Paul Ryan & his billionaire donors,” the eldest Trump son added, deeming DeSantis “100% Controlled Opposition”: So DeSantis thinks that Dems weaponizing the law to indict President Trump is a "manufactured circus" & isn't a "real issue" Others have also expressed disappointment in the governor’s response: Continued at link

Explosive Leaked Email From Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg
by Liza Carlisle March 20, 2023 OPINION: This article contains commentary which may reflect the author’s opinion The Manhattan investigation into former President Donald Trump and the quest to find something to charge him with has taken nearly five years, and Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg revived the efforts when he entered the office last year. Bragg has faced dissent over the directions of Trump investigations and those views are being aired by his predecessor, Cyrus R. Vance, Jr. in the release of his new book. Vance had started the tax investigation against Trump, and AP reported that Bragg had decided not to proceed immediately, citing concerns about the strength of the case. Pressure to bring the case to court prompted Bragg to move forward and last year he won the tax case against a Trump company. Bragg has now convened a new grand jury last week in a continuation of the quest to find charges against former President Trump. AP reported that the latest probe focuses on payments Trump allegedly made to two women in 2016, and there are rumors that an arrest will happen on Tuesday. According to Fox News, a court source reported that a meeting was requested on Thursday but has yet to be scheduled. According to the source familiar with the planning, the purpose of the meeting is to “discuss logistics for some time next week, which would mean that they are anticipating an indictment next week.” In response to the news, a spokesperson for Trump, Steven Cheung, issued a statement to Fox News Digital criticizing District Attorney Alvin Bragg, calling his investigation a “witch hunt” and alleging that Bragg was under the influence of President Biden and “radical Democrats.” “President Donald J. Trump is completely innocent, he did nothing wrong, and even the biggest, most Radical Left Democrats are making that clear,” Cheung said. “From Russia, Russia, Russia, to the Mueller Hoax, to Impeachment Hoaxes 1 and 2, and even the Unlawful Mar-a-Lago Raid, Democrats have investigated and attacked President Trump since before he was elected – and they’ve failed every time.” Meeting the accusations head-on, the former president responded to the rumors of his arrest and is furious. He posted on his TruthSocial platform calling for conservatives to object to another “witch hunt”. “NOW ILLEGAL LEAKS FROM A CORRUPT & HIGHLY POLITICAL MANHATTAN DISTRICT ATTORNEYS OFFICE, WHICH HAS ALLOWED NEW RECORDS TO BE SET IN VIOLENT CRIME & WHOSE LEADER IS FUNDED BY GEORGE SOROS, INDICATE THAT, WITH NO CRIME BEING ABLE TO BE PROVEN, & BASED ON AN OLD & FULLY DEBUNKED (BY NUMEROUS OTHER PROSECUTORS!) FAIRYTALE, THE FAR & AWAY LEADING REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE & FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, WILL BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK. PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!” he said. truthsocial.com/@realdonaldtrump/posts/110044039949982181Taking the words “protest” to mean the need for law enforcement, several law enforcement agencies are reportedly preparing for a potential indictment of former President Donald Trump as the Manhattan district attorney’s office “asked for a meeting” with those agencies. Now, an email leaked from Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg’s office shows what is on his mind. “Our law enforcement partners will ensure that any specific or credible threats against the office will be fully investigated and that the proper safeguards are in place so all 1,600 of us have a secure work environment,” the district attorney said in a memo to staff Politico reported. He said that “as with all of our investigations, we will continue to apply the law evenly and fairly, and speak publicly only when appropriate.” He did not mention the former president’s name but referenced “public comments surrounding an ongoing investigation by this office.” In an eerie reprise of those protesting the 2020 election peacefully, it seems the DA’s office is getting ready to imply that anyone exercising their right to protest an unjust arrest peacefully will be a criminal problem rather than an American exercising their right to free speech. Conservative Brief points out that an interesting situation in the entire episode might be that if former President Trump decided to fight extradition from Florida to New York. In that case, ultimately the person who would have to sign the papers that allow him to be extradited would be Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who has not announced his candidacy for President of the United States but who has been polling neck and neck with Trump, Conservative Brief pointed out. But there is no legal way for Gov. DeSantis to stop the extradition of the former president, Insider reported. “The indictment and the charges are not going to go away,” Florida attorney Tamara Holder said to Insider. “This is an early stage of a criminal proceeding, and it’s very important that you present yourself to the court early on as somebody who’s going to fight the case and not fight the extradition.” “The governor doesn’t have the power to stop an extradition,” she said. “The governor’s only involvement is to look at the papers and make sure that the papers are proper to issue the warrant.” link

Rand Paul Calls for Anti-Trump NY DA Alvin Bragg to Be ‘Put in Jail’
Frank Bergman March 21, 2023 - 1:58 pm Republican Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) has called for George Soros-installed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg to be “put in jail” over the New York Democrat prosecutor’s efforts to arrest President Donald Trump. Sen. Paul also blasted the potential indictment of Trump as a “disgusting abuse of power.” Paul’s comments come amid a heated legal battle between Trump and Bragg, who is reportedly planning to indict the 45th president. “A Trump indictment would be a disgusting abuse of power,” Paul posted to Twitter on Tuesday. “The DA should be put in jail.” The potential charges would reportedly stem from an alleged $130,000 hush-money payment that then-Trump lawyer Michael Cohen made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels, whose legal name is Stephanie Clifford. In a Monday night video shared to Truth Social, Trump called the “four horrible, radical-Left Democratic investigations of your all-time favorite president” an extension of the “most disgusting witch hunt in the history of our country.” “It’s gone on forever with Russia, Russia, Russia; Ukraine, Ukraine, Ukraine, and the Mueller hoax,” Trump said, referencing the investigation of Special Counsel Robert Mueller. Mueller spent millions of dollars in taxpayer money investigating Trump’s campaign for potential collusion with Russia and found no evidence of wrongdoing. “It’s an absolute disgrace, what’s going on,” Trump added. “Remember this, with all of this work that they did on Mueller, no collusion. “That’s what the answer was. It was all no collusion.” Trump also referred to the FBI raid on his Mar-a-Lago home and the Democrats’ false claims against him regarding Jan. 6. The 45th president slammed the Stormy Daniels litigation as an “extortion plot” and blasted the investigations against him as “fake news.” The decision on whether Trump will be indicted lies in the hands of a Manhattan grand jury, which has been meeting for weeks. Trump said last weekend that reports suggested he would be arrested over a potential indictment. While hosting events around the country, Trump continues to deny any wrongdoing and has criticized the Manhattan district attorney’s office investigation as politically motivated. Bragg was put into office as the Manhattan DA by radical billionaire George Soros. Like many other Democrat prosecutors across the country, Bragg ran on a campaign of promises to “get Trump” on unspecified charges. Trump — who is expected to travel to Waco, Texas, next weekend for his first 2024 campaign rally — denies having sex with her or paying Daniels. link

Former President Donald Trump will be indicted on Wednesday and asked to surrender for arraignment in New York next week, according to a new report.
“There will be no arraignment this week,” an unnamed source, said to be familiar with the proceeding, told the Daily Mail on Tuesday. The Mail reports that “the former president, who is currently in Florida, is expected to be formally charged tomorrow, after which the Manhattan District Attorney’s office will reach out to Trump and his Secret Service detail to make arrangements for his surrender.” After being flown to New York, he will be fingerprinted, arrested, and a mug shot will be taken. On Tuesday, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office responded to a letter sent by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan demanding that he testify before Congress about his “unprecedented abuse of prosecutorial authority.” The prosecutor’s office said that they will not be “intimidated” out of filing charges. “We will not be intimidated by attempts to undermine the justice process, nor will we let baseless accusations deter us from fairly applying the law,” a spokesperson for Bragg’s office told Fox News on Tuesday. “In every prosecution, we follow the law without fear or favor to uncover the truth. Our skilled, honest and dedicated lawyers remain hard at work,” the spokesperson added. On Monday, Jordan had sent a letter to Bragg’s office saying, “in light of the serious consequences of your actions, we expect that you will testify about what plainly appears to be a politically motivated prosecutorial decision.” “Dear Mr. Bragg,” the letter began. “You are about to engage in an unprecedented abuse of prosecutorial authority: the indictment of a former President of the United States and current declared candidate for that office. This indictment comes after years of your office searching for a basis — any basis — on which to bring charges, ultimately settling on a novel legal theory untested anywhere in the country and one that federal authorities declined to pursue. If these reports are accurate, your actions will erode confidence in the evenhanded application of justice and unalterably interfere in the court of the 2024 presidential election.” The possible indictment stems from an alleged $130,000 hush money payment made to porn star Stormy Daniels in 2016 over an alleged sexual encounter that the two had in 2006. His former attorney, Michael Cohen, pleaded guilty to charges over the payment in 2018 and was sentenced to three years in prison. Jordan noted that by July 2019, federal prosecutors determined that no additional people would be charged alongside Cohen. “Now, in the words of one legal scholar, you are attempting to ‘shoehorn’ the same case with identical facts into a new prosecution, resurrecting a so-called ‘zombie’ case against President Trump,” the letter said. “Even the Washington Post quoted ‘legal experts’ as calling your actions ‘unusual’ because ‘prosecutors have repeatedly examined the long-established details but decided not to pursue charges.” Trump has called for protests in the event of his arrest. link

Manhattan District Attorney Responds to House Judiciary Committee — ‘We will not be intimidated’ Out of Pursuing Charges Against Trump
By Cassandra MacDonald Mar. 21, 2023 1:45 pm Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office has responded to a letter sent by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan demanding that he testify before Congress about his “unprecedented abuse of prosecutorial authority.” Bragg’s office said they would “not be intimidated” or “deterred.” “We will not be intimidated by attempts to undermine the justice process, nor will we let baseless accusations deter us from fairly applying the law,” a spokesperson for Bragg’s office told Fox News on Tuesday. This would have expired years ago under usual standards. However, the letter points out that state law allows a district attorney to “elevate normal misdemeanor conduct” to a felony charge if the “intent to defraud includes an intent to commit another crime or to aid or conceal the commission thereof.” Jordan stated that Bragg’s testimony would be required no later than 10 a.m. on March 23, 2023. Bragg must also turn over records and communications between the New York County District Attorney’s Office and the Department of Justice relating to the Manhattan DA’s investigation of Trump; all communications sent by and received from the ex-prosecutors Carey Dunne and Mark Pomerantz relating to Trump; and all documents and communications referring or relating to the New York County District Attorney’s Office receipt and use of federal funds. The letter was also signed by House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer and House Committee on Administration Chairman Brian Steil, both Republicans. link

Trump to Be Indicted Wednesday, Will Be Asked to Surrender for Arraignment Next Week — According to Report
By Cassandra MacDonald Mar. 21, 2023 1:53 pm Former President Donald Trump will be indicted on Wednesday and asked to surrender for arraignment in New York next week, according to a new report. “There will be no arraignment this week,” an unnamed source, said to be familiar with the proceeding, told the Daily Mail on Tuesday. 700 NYPD Riot Cops Mobilized, Steel Barriers Deployed Ahead Of Potential Trump Arrest
BY TYLER DURDEN TUESDAY, MAR 21, 2023 - 11:20 AM The New York Police Department (NYPD) has mobilized 700 riot cops and deployed steel barricades around the Manhattan Criminal Court in anticipation of civil disorder, should the Manhattan District Attorney's office order the arrest of former President Donald Trump, following a potential grand jury indictment for allegedly paying a former porn star for her silence ahead of his 2016 presidential campaign. As the NY Times gleefully reports, "He would be fingerprinted. He would be photographed. He could even be handcuffed. And if Donald J. Trump is indicted by a Manhattan grand jury in the days ahead for his role in a hush money payment to a porn star, the former president of the United States of America will be read the standard Miranda warning: He will be told that he has the right to remain silent and the right to an attorney." "These are among the routine steps for felony arrests in New York. But the unprecedented arrest of a former commander in chief — one whose devoted supporters once staged a violent attack on the Capitol — will be anything but routine." According to the report, cited by Kyle Becker in Trending Politics, "more than a dozen senior Police Department officials and two of the mayor’s top public safety aides held a virtual meeting to discuss security, staffing and contingency plans in the event of any protests, one person with knowledge of the meeting said." The Times drew a parallel between New York City’s security preparations for the potential Trump indictment this week and the Capitol riots on January 6, 2021. “That meeting followed a call from Mr. Trump himself, in a post on his site Truth Social on Saturday morning: ‘PROTEST,’ he exhorted his supporters. ‘TAKE OUR NATION BACK!’ “The former president’s rallying cry, with an indictment looming, conjured up memories of the Jan. 6, 2020, assault on the Capitol,” the Times added. -Trending Politics As we noted on Monday, House GOP investigators are demanding that the Manhattan DA explain their alleged (leaked) decision to prosecute Trump. "You are reportedly about to engage in an unprecedented abuse of prosecutorial authority: the indictment of a former President of the United States and current declared candidate for that office," reads a Monday letter to Bragg from Reps. Jim Jordan (Judiciary Chairman), James Comer (Oversight Chairman) and Bryan Steil (House Admin Chairman). "This indictment comes after years of your office searching for a basis - any basis - on which to bring charges, ultimately settling on a novel legal theory untested anywhere in the cuntry and one that federal authorities declined to pursue." The letter goes on to shred the 'untested legal theory' underpinning Bragg's expected indictment, and calls out former Trump Attorney Michael Cohen, Bragg's star witness and a convicted perjurer, as having a "serious credibility problem." The letter demands all documents and communications related to the decision. "This is the type of thing America hates, and it divides America and it is wrong," McCarthy said this week while conferring with House Republicans in Orlando, Florida. McCarthy has accused Bragg of lowering penalties for criminals in New York while prosecuting his political opponents. "It’s interesting to me he spent his whole time as a DA lowering felonies, not to prosecute," said McCarthy. "I think Republicans and Democrats alike hate this type of justice." link

Leo Terrell Calls on DA Bragg to ‘Drop the Case’ Against Trump as Grand Jury Proceedings ‘Canceled’
David LindfieldMarch 22, 2023 - 5:04 pm Civil rights attorney Leo Terrell has called on New York’s George Soros-funded District Attorney Alvin Bragg to “drop the case” against President Donald Trump. As Slay News reported earlier, Trump’s case was abruptly canceled today under mysterious circumstances. The news comes as the case, led by Manhattan DA Bragg, has been under attack from all sides. Even Stormy Daniels’ anti-Trump former attorney, federal inmate Michael Avenatti, said the case was weak. The Grand Jury was meant to meet today and take a vote to indict Trump. However, the Grand Jury was unexpectedly notified Wednesday morning that Bragg has canceled the meeting and placed them “on standby” for Thursday. Terrell fired back at Bragg and called on the Democrat prosecutor to “drop” his politically-motivated case against Trump. The grand jury is now reportedly “on standby” for Thursday. Fox News is reporting that the cancelation came amid “major dissension” within Bragg’s office. One source reportedly told Fox that the DA is struggling to persuade the Grand Jury on charges due to the “weakness” of the case. A source revealed there is a real chance Bragg may not indict Trump at all. Trump, the current GOP front-runner for 2024, has yet to be formally notified whether Bragg plans to bring charges against him. Bragg had previously suspended the investigation when he took over as district attorney. The move led some who were leading the investigation to quit, including prosecutors Mark Pomerantz and Cary Duanne. Federal prosecutors had previously decided not to charge Trump in relation to the payments made to Stormy Daniels. The Federal Election Commission (FEC) also tossed the investigation in 2021. However, it now appears that Bragg – or George Soros – had a change of heart and now wants to charge the 45th president. link

NY DA Alvin Bragg Caught Hiding Exculpatory Evidence from Grand Jury in Trump Case
Frank Bergman March 22, 2023 - 8:31 am Manhattan’s George Soros-installed District Attorney Alvin Bragg has been caught hiding exculpatory evidence from the New York Grand Jury in his politically-motivated case against President Donald Trump. Earlier this week, attorney Robert Costello, the former legal adviser to Michael Cohen, spoke to Tucker Carlson. As Slay News reported, Costello appeared on Carlson’s Fox News show Monday night after he testified to the Manhattan Grand Jury investigating Trump. During his appearance, Costello told Carlson that he testified for two hours in front of Bragg’s Grand Jury in New York City. He revealed that the Grand Jury had no intention of finding the truth and said Cohen will do or say anything to stay out of jail. “I spoke to the jury for two hours,” Costello said. “It was clear to me the Manhattan Grand Jury did not want to get to the truth.” WATCH: Now, further information has emerged to expose Bragg’s “get Trump” agenda. According to Fox News’s top legal expert Gregg Jarrett, Bragg has been caught hiding almost 600 pages of exculpatory evidence from the ant-Trump Grand Jury. Speaking during an appearance on Sean Hannity’s Fox News show, Jarrett revealed that Bragg was handed hundreds of pages of evidence that he hid from the Grand Jury. WATCH: (At link below) TRANSCRIPT: Gregg Jarrett: I mentioned it yesterday, I think, when Bob Costello got into that Grand Jury room and told them, “Wait a minute. You don’t have the hundreds of pages I handed over to Alvin Bragg over here? You only have six cherry-picked documents?” You know, hiding from grand juries exculpatory information is reprehensible and unconscionable. And the conduct of Alvin Bragg and his henchman Mark Pomeranz, who specifically says in his book, “We’re targeting zombies because we don’t like his beliefs,” those guys should face disbarment proceedings. link

Jonathan Turley Sends DA Bragg To Ash Heap of History: “Bizarre case with all these conflicts, I don’t think history will be very kind to him”
David Hawkins March 22, 2023 - 6:06 pm Legal scholar Jonathan Turley sent Manhattan D.A. Alvin Bragg to the dustbin of history on Fox News today warning Bragg that history will judge him harshly if he indicts Trump in this ‘bizarre’ case. Turley said: “This is part of Michael Cohen’s appeal, right? He used to basically sell his moral and ethical flexibility. He would go all in for whatever side was most beneficial. That doesn’t make you a great witness and in fact, Bragg is looking at a target rich environment for the defense if they ever put Michael Cohen on the stand. “But that’s actually just deepening the factual side of this case, which is very problematic. He still has to deal with really significant legal problems. Bragg is suggesting, according to reports, that he’d like to prove a federal crime that the Department of Justice didn’t think warranted a charge. That’s something that none of us have really seen before. “So, he’s taking this bizarre case with all these conflicts into what is a historic moment, and I don’t think history will be very kind to him. “He will be the first prosecutor to indict a former president,” he said. Turley said earlier: “If former President Donald Trump is indicted, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg would be prosecuting a case that has been widely criticized as long on politics and short on the law. The star witness is one of the most repellent figures in New York. “It is only the latest reinvention of Michael Cohen – this time from legal heavy to redemptive sinner. Cohen spent much of his time when he worked for Trump threatening critics, journalists and even students. “In John Edwards’ prosecution in 2012, the Justice Department used the same theory to charge the former Democratic presidential candidate after a disclosure that he not only had an affair with filmmaker Rielle Hunter but also sired a child with her. Edwards denied the affair, and it was later revealed that Fred Baron, Edwards’ campaign finance chairman, gave money to Hunter. “Andrew Young, an Edwards campaign aide, also obtained funds from heiress Rachel “Bunny” Mellon to pay to Hunter. “The Justice Department spent a king’s ransom on the case to show that the third-party payments were a circumvention of campaign finance laws, because the payments were designed to bury an election scandal. “Edwards was ultimately found not guilty on one count while the jury deadlocked on the other five. The jury clearly believed there were ample reasons to hush up the affair beyond the election itself. “Despite legal flaws in the case, Bragg is counting on favorable judges and jurors in New York City. Win or lose, he would reap a huge political reward in being the first to charge Trump. Ironically, Trump also could come out ahead politically. “Of all the possible charges he could face, this is the one he would likely invite. “Bragg would give Trump strong evidence that Democrats have politically weaponized the criminal justice system against him,” he said. link

Marjorie Taylor Greene Raises The Stakes, Calls For The Arrest of New York DA Alvin Bragg
David HawkinsMarch 22, 2023 - 4:21 pm GOP Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene raised the stakes and called for the arrest of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. Greene said: “Now it’s time to arrest Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg for prosecutorial misconduct after hiding hundreds of pages of exculpatory evidence! Bragg is on the verge of indicting an innocent former President and top Presidential candidate against the opposing ruling party. Bragg is breaking the law and trying to incite civil unrest with his Soros funded political war. Hold him accountable.” Not sure who she wants to arrest him, but it won’t be President Joe Biden’s Department of Justice or New York Attorney General Letitia James. Mexico’s President Andrés Manuel López Obrador ripped the possible charges saying: “Right now, former President Trump is declaring that they are going to arrest him. If that were the case, it would be so that his name doesn’t appear on the ballot. “I say this because I too have suffered from the fabrication of a crime, when they didn’t want me to run, And this is completely anti-democratic. Why not allow the people to decide?” Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) said: “I think we should hear Alvin Bragg testify before Congress, under oath, about his vision and the fact that this is wildly political and the fact that this was not pursued by federal courts and the fact that the Department of Justice passed on this. “I also want to hear his answers about funding from George Soros. I want to hear his answers about the crime crisis in New York. “So, at the same time like I said that you have him lowering felonies to misdemeanors you have something that is beyond the statute of limitations and is a political witch hunt. “So I absolutely want to hear Alvin Bragg testify before Congress. “This is the epitome of the weaponizing of the federal government against Democrats’ political opponents. “Being a native New Yorker, being from my home state of New York, Alvin Bragg is as radical and left-wing as they come. Over a million dollars funded by George Soros. “This was a case that was considered a zombie case. Federal prosecutors did not pursue this case because there is no there there. “Meanwhile, you have Alvin Bragg basically doing the bidding essentially of Joe Biden and the Democratic Party because they can’t beat President Trump at the ballot box. “What is very frustrating is we think about New York State where we have a crime crisis, literally the epicenter of the crime crisis is because of Alvin Bragg’s soft-on-crime policies. “So, at the same time you have this DA lowering felonies to misdemeanors, you have him pursuing a non-case just for political vengeance.” link

Alan Dershowitz Dooms Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg: ‘Bob Costello’s a Game Changer, He Cannot Use Cohen as a Witness Anymore’
David HawkinsMarch 22, 2023 - 4:06 pm Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz doomed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg after a surprise witness came forward yesterday and potentially upended the DA’s case against Trump. Dershowitz said: “Bob Costello has changed this case dramatically. I think that Bragg now only has two possible results from that. Number one, he can say, ‘alright, I’m going to try to make the case without Cohen.’ “He cannot use Cohen as a witness anymore. That would be unethical because of the testimony that Costello gave. Or he could say, ‘look, I have to drop the case.’ He may not be able to make it without Cohen. “But if he can’t make it without Cohen, he can’t make it, because no ethical prosecutor is allowed to put on as a witness somebody who has told the lies and has contradicted himself so much. “I think that Bob Costello, it’s a game changer. “I think maybe that’s a reason for the delay here. “I think ethical experts are now telling Bragg, ‘wait a minute, you cannot use Cohen. “But if you can’t make it without Cohen, you cannot bring this charge,” he said. Alan said earlier: “To paraphrase the late Justice Robert Jackson, these anachronistic statutes and precedents lie around “like loaded weapons“ ready to be selectively enforced against political enemies. “That, precisely, is what we are now seeing with the Manhattan district attorney, Alvin Bragg, targeting the former president and current candidate, Donald Trump. Does anyone actually believe that if someone else were accused of paying hush money to avoid a sex scandal in the manner that Mr. Trump is suspected of doing, he would be prosecuted? “After spending months searching the criminal code for a law that Mr. Trump might be accused of violating, Mr. Bragg has apparently landed on a highly questionable campaign contribution provision that has never before been used in a comparable situation. “As Jackson also presciently observed: “With the law books filled with a great assortment of crimes, a prosecutor stands a fair chance of finding at least a technical violation of some act on the part of almost anyone.” “He added: “In such a case, it is not a question of discovering the commission of a crime and then looking for the man who has committed it, it is a question of picking the man and then searching the law books, or putting investigators to work, to pin some offense on him.” “Not to compare Mr. Bragg’s NYC to Stalin’s Soviet Union, a sordid episode from the past does come to mind: the notorious head of the KGB, Lavrentiy Beria, once said to Stalin: “show me the man, and I will find you the crime.” Closer to home, J. Edgar Hoover would often target his political enemies for investigation. Or as a South American dictator once threatened: “for my friends everything; for my enemies the law.“ “All decent people, whether politically opposed to Mr. Trump (as I am) or supportive of his candidacy, should be concerned about this weaponizing of the prosecutor’s office for the political purpose of preventing a potential candidate from running for office. “Today this insidious tactic is being used by a Democratic prosecutor against a Republican candidate. In 2016, efforts were made to use it against the Democratic candidate. No one knows who tomorrow’s target will be, since the precedent will ”lie around like a loaded weapon,” to be misused by any ambitious prosecutor in a partisan manner. “It is no answer to say, as supporters of this “get Trump” tactic are arguing, that Mr. Bragg is doing nothing more than fully enforcing the law on the ground that no one is “above” it. If Mr. Trump or anyone else did the crime, they should do the time. “But others have done things similarly to what Mr. Trump is suspected of doing, and no else is being threatened with prosecution,” Alan said. link

Jim Jordan Seeks Testimony from Manhattan Prosecutors Who Resigned over Stalled Trump Pro
ASHLEY OLIVER 22 Mar 2023 Washington, DC Judiciary Committee chairman Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) requested Wednesday that a pair of former Manhattan prosecutors who resigned in protest from the Manhattan district attorney’s office last year testify before Congress and provide documents related to the office’s yearslong investigation into former President Donald Trump. Jordan sent Carey Dunne and Mark Pomerantz each letters, obtained by Breitbart News, with his requests, accusing the pair of shaming Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg into “resurrecting” the Trump probe after they quit because of Bragg’s doubt about moving forward with the case when he first took office last year. “It now appears that your efforts to shame Bragg have worked as he is reportedly resurrecting a so-called ‘zombie’ case against President Trump using a tenuous and untested legal theory,” Jordan wrote. Read copies of the letters here. The letters come amid speculation that Trump could be indicted in the coming days in connection with a years-old hush money scheme involving porn star Stormy Daniels. The possibility of the historic indictment began dominating headlines on Saturday when Trump announced on his social media platform Truth Social that he expected to be arrested this week on charges related to the case. Jordan and others contacted Bragg soon thereafter seeking testimony from the district attorney, contending that Bragg’s move when he took office to lighten certain criminal penalties “requires congressional scrutiny” because he could potentially be failing to maintain an appropriate level of law and order while using federal grants. Jordan also argued to Bragg, as well as to Dunne and Pomerantz, that the “apparent decision to pursue criminal charges where federal authorities declined to do so requires oversight to inform potential legislative reforms about the delineation of prosecutorial authority between federal and local officials.” Jordan, who told Breitbart News at the time of publication that he had not heard from Bragg, gave the district attorney until Thursday to respond to him. Jordan gave Dunne and Pomerantz until Monday to provide him with the requested documents and schedule their testimonies, which he asked to do through transcribed interviews, with Congress. Dunne and Pomerantz unexpectedly resigned last year shortly after Bragg took office, per the New York Times. The Times initially reported that “people with knowledge of the matter” said the pair of attorneys quit after Bragg conveyed reluctance to them about moving forward with the ongoing Trump investigation. Later, Pomerantz’s resignation letter appeared in the outlet stating that Pomerantz had believed Trump was “guilty of numerous felony violations” related to his financial statements. He wrote to Bragg that he was quitting because he thought Bragg’s decision at the time to “indefinitely” suspend the investigation into Trump was “misguided.” This story is developing. link

Chuck Schumer Refuses to State Confidence in Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg
JORDAN DIXON-HAMILTON 22 Mar 2023 Democrat Senate Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) refused to state his confidence in Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who is expected to indict former President Donald Trump. Schumer’s remarks came during a press conference on Wednesday. “Do you have confidence in Alvin Bragg?” one reporter asked Schumer. Schumer refused to answer, instead insisting that it is “premature to comment” on the situation. “Look, the bottom line is, as I said, it’s premature to comment on what’s happening, and we’ll have to wait and see what he does,” Schumer responded. REPORTER: "Do you have confidence in Alvin Bragg?" SEN. SCHUMER: "It's premature to comment on what's happening, and we'll have to wait and see what he does." Bragg is investigating Trump for his alleged role in paying Stormy Daniels hush money. As Breitbart News reported: Bragg, who was financially tied to Democrat megadonor George Soros in his campaign for DA, began relitigating Daniels’ story “to jump-start [the DA office’s] criminal investigation” into Trump within Bragg’s first year in office, per the New York Times. The investigation includes Trump’s former personal attorney Michael Cohen, who has said he was pressured to make a $130,000 hush money payment on behalf of the former president to Daniels ahead of the 2016 presidential election. Cohen in 2018 was sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to numerous crimes involving tax evasion, arranging payments to silence women, and misleading Congress about past business dealings in Russia. Trump thrust his possible indictment into the spotlight over the weekend after he spoke about “illegal leaks” from the Manhattan district attorney’s office that purported he would be arrested this week. Trump’s announcement sparked outrage from congressional Republicans. “Here we go again — an outrageous abuse of power by a radical DA who lets violent criminals walk as he pursues political vengeance against President Trump,” House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) tweeted. “I’m directing relevant committees to immediately investigate if federal funds are being used to subvert our democracy by interfering in elections with politically motivated prosecutions.” Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance noted Bragg’s links to Democrat megadonor George Soros and said Bragg “allows violent criminals to walk the streets of New York City, but will prosecute the likely Republican nominee (and former president) on a baseless misdemeanor charge.” Some Democrats have also expressed concern over Bragg’s possible prosecution of Trump. West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin (D) warned the move may backfire on Democrats. “There’s many reasons not to support Donald Trump. There’s many reasons why Donald Trump should not be president again of the United States but you should not allow the court system to be viewed as a political pawn,” Manchin told reporters Tuesday. “I think it would basically have the reverse effect as what some people would think, not for the good.” link

House Administration Chair Bryan Steil: Alvin Bragg Has ‘Until Thursday to Come Forward’ to Congress
MATTHEW BOYLE 21 Mar 2023 Orlando, FL ORLANDO, Florida — Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg faces a Thursday deadline to come forward to appear before three congressional panels for a transcribed interview, the chairman of one of those committees told Breitbart News exclusively here at the House GOP retreat. “We gave him until Thursday to come forward,” House Administration Committee chairman Rep. Bryan Steil (R-WI) told Breitbart News of the push to bring Bragg in. “We look forward to his response.” Steil chairs one of the three congressional committees—the others being the House Judiciary Committee chaired by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and the House Oversight Committee chaired by Rep. James Comer (R-KY)—that demanded Bragg appear for a transcribed interview with congressional investigators to explain his rationale in the looming indictment of former President Donald Trump. Steil was at the House GOP retreat here this week, and sat for an exclusive interview with Breitbart News to lay out the contours of the blossoming investigation into Bragg. “The Committee on House Administration has jurisdiction over federal election law,” Steil told Breitbart News. “So, we’re working with Chairman Comer and working with Chairman Jordan. I think the question that needs to be answered is: Is this a political move? When you look at the fact that previous prosecutors have reviewed this and ultimately made a decision not to prosecute, and he made a previous decision he wasn’t going to move forward and now he is moving forward, what changed? The only thing that changed is President Trump has announced he is running for reelection. I think that broadly for the American people we are concerned about the politicization of our judicial system, and as you look at this case there are clear questions that I think need to be answered about whether there is a misuse of federal funds that are intended to actually do things like reduce crime that are actually being repurposed for political purposes.” In this Saturday, Oct. 24, 2020, file photo, Rep. Bryan Steil (R-WI) speaks before President Donald Trump arrives at a campaign rally at the Waukesha County Airport in Waukesha, Wisconsin. (Morry Gash, File/AP) The big question that congressional investigators have for Bragg is whether he has used federal tax dollars provided to his office meant to fight crime for the purposes of politically targeting Trump—something leaders in Congress would consider an abuse of the purpose of the funds. “Money is fungible. It depends on how it is tied,” Steil said. “Those are the questions I think are appropriate to ask and I think we need the answers to. So I think it’s one of the reasons we’ve asked him to come in and explain. We’ve asked him to come in and do a written transcript and deposition—that’s in the letter. That’s why we’re asking him to come before us—is there a misuse of federal funds? It’s a question to ask. We want to broadly depoliticize our judicial system, which has been highly politicized over the years.” Bragg has not yet agreed to appear for the transcribed interview, but investigators had only asked for him to turn up for it on Monday—with the short deadline of Thursday of this week—and Steil said if Bragg refuses to cooperate with the investigation he will consult with Jordan and Comer on whether to subpoena Bragg to compel his appearance. “We’ll make decisions and consultations with Jim Jordan and Jamie Comer if he doesn’t respond,” Steil said when asked if subpoenas were on the table. “I’m hopeful that he responds.” In addition to testimony from Bragg, Steil’s letter with Jordan and Comer formally requests production of a series of documents as well. “There are series of documents we set out in the letter and I think people should understand—the American people should know—what is exactly transpiring and leading to the conclusion he is likely to move forward on,” Steil said. Steil also said there may be federal staff on loan from the Department of Justice to Bragg’s office that could be a focus for investigators. “So this is the broader question that’s underlying this which is are there federal resources being utilized for political purposes and that is I think a really appropriate question I think for your federal government to be asking local prosecutors,” Steil said. As for whether public hearings come from his committee, or Jordan’s committee or Comer’s committee, Steil said he is not yet sure. “We’re going to continue to track this. I don’t want to set forward an exact path we have to take,” Steil said. “Step one is I hope he comes in and shares his explanation for this and then we will go from there. I think we will be far more informed if he came forward and shared his view.” Steil said, too, that he views this as a “very significant moment” in American history as this would be the first time in the nation’s nearly 250 years that a former president has faced charges. “If these charges come forward, there is a real concern about the precedent this would set,” Steil said. “We live in the greatest democracy the world has ever seen in the United States of America and what we can’t allow is a weaponization of our judicial system for political purposes.” Steil brought up how Bragg won the Democrat nomination for the office of Manhattan District Attorney by winning just 85,000 votes—which he said “more or less guarantees, in New York City, that he is going to win the general election.” That is true because Bragg won the general election in the Democrat stronghold with 83 percent of the general election vote—after his approximately 85,000 votes, which was less than 35 percent, won him the nomination. “Now he is almost making himself almost more powerful than the DOJ,” Steil said. “So, prosecutors could be utilized in these elections for political purposes rather than what local prosecutors truly are for, which is to keep their cities safe—which is the opposite of what he has been doing. You can look at how many felonies he’s brought down to misdemeanors and how crime has spiked in liberal cities across the country. In this case, it appears he is taking a misdemeanor and running a unique argument to try to create a felony charge.” This case in particular, Steil told Breitbart News, has thrown into sharp contrast for Americans just how bad leftist weaponization of government for political purposes truly is. “Myself and a lot of conservatives have been really concerned for a long time about the politicization of our judicial system,” Steil said. “This really highlights the risk of what can occur if you allow your judicial system to be politicized and used for purposes other than keeping your community safe. We’ve seen this in cities across the country where progressive, liberal prosecutors win elections and don’t utilize their positions to actually keep their cities safe.” Steil’s House Administration Committee will play an integral role in the growing investigation into Bragg’s activities. Asked to explain how it fits together with the other committees, he said the three will work together as a team to get the facts for the public. “I think some of this is we’re going to work together as a team between Jim Jordan, Jim Comer, and myself to get the answers,” Steil said. “So rather than creating a situation where there is a conflict between the three committees, I actually think we have a unique opportunity to work together. Obviously, Jim Comer has oversight over pretty much everything. Jim Jordan has it as it relates to criminal law. We have it as it relates to election law. We’re going to leverage and utilize the strength of our committees to get the answers for the American people that I think the American people deserve.” What’s more, Bragg’s moves come after years of Democrats blasting Republicans as a threat to democracy in the wake of the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021, but Democrats may be the actual threat to democracy if they are using the judicial system to settle political scores. Asked about this conflict between what Democrats have said and what Democrats are actually doing, Steil said this is the concern with the politicization of the justice system. “This is, you bring up I think the broader concern of what happens if you allow your judicial system to be politicized,” Steil said. “It’s the exact reason you want to depoliticize your judicial system. We see time and time again liberal prosecutors come in with a political agenda rather than an agenda of keeping their cities safe.” link

Alvin Bragg CAUGHT HIDING Nearly 600 Pages of Evidence in Trump Case From Jury
by Kari Donovan March 22, 2023 OPINION: This article contains commentary which may reflect the author’s opinion Democrat District Attorney Alvin Bragg has exposed himself as a political activist who is using his position of authority to persecute a political opponent and try to stop him from running for President of the United States in a series of deceitful actions, which should amount to treason, and hopefully will end in Bragg’s arrest. Bragg is obviously exploiting his position of authority to abuse the power he was given by the people for the personal agenda of stalking and hounding President Donald J. Trump, who is a declared Presidential candidate for 2024. And evidence shows that it is Bragg who is lying and in cover-up mode. Trump is a highly favored Republican candidate and likely to win, and the plot to arrest him over the Bragg fantasy case is obviously a plot to stop Trump’s rise in the national polls over the last few months. In fact, Bragg knows, the media knows, and law enforcement all know that Bragg’s case is very suspicious. News came in Monday that Bragg had been further exposed as a megalomaniac DA based on explosive testimony in the case. Attorney Robert Costello, the former legal adviser to Michael Cohen, spoke to Tucker Carlson on Monday night after he testified to the Manhattan Grand Jury investigating President Donald Trump. Costello told the FOX News audience that he testified for two hours in front of Alvin Bragg’s Manhattan Grand Jury. Robert Costello told Tucker Carlson, “I spoke to the jury for two hours… It was clear to me the Manhattan Grand Jury did not want to get to the truth.” “Michael Cohen’s former attorney, Robert Costello, told wild stories about Mr.Cohen on Tucker. Mr. Costello told Alvin Bragg the same story. Sadly Mr. Bragg and the Democrats are so determined to get Trump they don’t care what the facts are.,” one poster wrote in response, adding the Tucker clip: Michael Cohen’s former attorney, Robert Costello, told wild stories about Mr.Cohen on Tucker. Mr. Costello told Alvin Bragg the same story. Sadly Mr. Bragg and the Democrats are so determined to get Trump they don’t care what the facts are. pic.twitter.com/NLn0sjp577 — Charles R Downs (@thecharlesdowns) March 21, 2023 And it now is being reported that New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg was HIDING exculpatory evidence from the Grand Jury, Jim Hoft reported. And it gets better… According to FOX News legal mind Gregg Jarrett, Soros-funded DA Alvin Bragg HID nearly 600 pages of exculpatory evidence to the New York Grand Jury investigating President Trump. Gregg Jarrett: I mentioned it yesterday, I think when Bob Costello got into that Grand Jury room and told them, “Wait a minute. You don’t have the hundreds of pages I handed over to Alvin Bragg over here? You only have six cherry-picked documents?” You know, hiding from grand juries exculpatory information is reprehensible and unconscionable. And the conduct of Alvin Bragg and his henchman Mark Pomeranz, who specifically says in his book, “We’re targeting zombies because we don’t like his beliefs,” those guys should face disbarment proceedings.” Things are so bad that on US Senator wants to see Bragg investigated. Senator Rand Paul is the latest Republican to accuse Bragg of leading a politically motivated investigation into the 76-year-old former president, who is accused of directing a $130,000 hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels in 2016 in exchange for her silence about an alleged 2006 affair, My Truth News reported. Paul is not alone: House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) wrote to the Democratic Manhattan DA on Monday calling his plans to charge Trump “an unprecedented abuse of prosecutorial authority.” The two lawmakers stopped short of Paul’s demand that Bragg be jailed but asked the prosecutor to hand over documents and testify about “what plainly appears to be a politically motivated” prosecution of the ex-commander-in-chief. Trump himself, who announced over the weekend that he expected to be arrested on Tuesday, has accused Bragg of “Prosecutorial Misconduct and Interference with an Election.” Last November, Trump declared that he would be running for president again in 2024. “Investigate the Investigators!” the former president wrote in a Truth Social post on Sunday. Even Trump’s top potential 2024 GOP presidential primary rival has criticized Bragg for his efforts to charge the former president. While indicating that he wouldn’t get involved in “any way,” Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday called Bragg a “[George] Soros-funded prosecutor” that is using the Manhattan DA’s office to “impose a political agenda.” “He, like other Soros-funded prosecutors, they weaponize their office to impose a political agenda on society at the expense of the rule of law and public safety,” DeSantis told reporters during a news conference on Monday. DeSantis went on to call Bragg and other Soros-backed district attorneys a “menace to society” for their soft-on-crime policies. Paul’s tweet Tuesday wasn’t the first time he’s singled out Bragg on social media. In July 2022, the senator shared a news report on Bragg’s office’s decision to go easy on a 16-year-old with three prior felony arrests after the teen allegedly assaulted a police officer who confronted him for not paying his subway fare. “Democrat DA allows a violent attack on a cop to go unpunished…” Paul said in the tweet, referring to Bragg. Jim Jordan Gets Win as Manhattan DA Agrees to Hand over Some Documents
David Hawkins March 23, 2023 - 11:51 am Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has fired back at Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) after the Republican congressman demanded the George Soros-funded prosecutor’s testimony. Jordan and his House GOP colleagues gave demanded that Bragg hands over documents relating to his politically motivated case against President Donald Trump. The Manhattan DA’s general counsel, Leslie Dubeck, told Jordan and the GOP their request was an “unprecedented inquiry into a pending local prosecution.” But towards the end of the letter, she said they would come clean about any use of federal funds and would meet with Congress to discuss the case. Dubeck wrote: “The District Attorney of New York County is investigating allegations that Donald Trump engaged in violations of New York State penal law. “The investigation is one of thousands conducted by the Office of the District Attorney in its long history of pursuing justice and protecting New Yorkers. “The investigation has been conducted consistently with the District Attorney’s oath to faithfully execute the laws of the State of New York. “The District Attorney pledged that the DA’s Office would “publicly state the conclusion of our investigation whether we conclude our work without bringing charges, or move forward with an indictment. “He stands by that pledge,” Dubeck continued. “To assist Congress in understanding the ways in which the DA’s Office has used federal funds, we are preparing and will submit a letter describing its use of federal funds,” she wrote. “While the DA’s Office will not allow a Congressional investigation to impede the exercise of New York’s sovereign police power, this Office will always treat a fellow government entity with due respect. “Therefore, again, we request a meet and confer to understand whether the Committee has any legitimate legislative purpose in the requested materials that could be accommodated without impeding those sovereign interests. We simply expect that our office also be treated “in a manner consistent with [New York’s] status as a residuary sovereign and joint participant0 in the governance of the Nation.” link

Manhattan DA in Disarray, Abruptly Cancels Trump Grand Jury Session
David HawkinsMarch 23, 2023 - 11:20 am The Grand Jury deciding President Donald Trump’s fate has been canceled again today amid reports that embattled Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is scrambling to keep his case alive. According to reports, George Soros-funded Bragg does not have enough votes for an indictment. A meeting of the New York grand jury looking into Trump’s alleged hush-money payments, scheduled to take place on Thursday, was postponed again. The next time the grand jury could meet is Monday, according to multiple media reports. NewsNation said, “the delayed meeting, which was first postponed on Wednesday, means a possible indictment won’t come down until next week at the earliest, if at all. “The jury usually meets on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.” According to RadarOnline: “The grand jury weighing charges again embattled ex-president Donald Trump was told to stay home again on Thursday, RadarOnline.com can confirm, meaning the jury will not meet again until Monday at the earliest. “The cancellation of the jury’s session on Thursday came one day after Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg already ordered those on the panel to stay home on Wednesday for unknown reasons. According to The Daily Mail: It remains unclear why the grand jury is not reconvening for the rest of the week amid reports that the panel needs to hear from a final witness before levying a judgment. One source told DailyMail: ‘They are having trouble convincing the jury to swallow the case. It’s a weak case and has caused divisions in the DA’s office.’ Other reports suggested the DA’s office could contemplate a change in strategy. linkREAD MORE: Leo Terrell Calls on DA Bragg to ‘Drop the Case’ Against Trump as Gra

DEVELOPING: Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg Lashes Out at House Republicans, Blames Trump For Arrest Rumors as His Case Falters
By Cristina Laila Mar. 23, 2023 10:59 am Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg lashed out at House Republicans and blamed Trump for starting rumors about his imminent arrest. President Trump earlier this week said he would be arrested on Tuesday in a pair of Truth Social posts. truthsocial.com/@realdonaldtrump/110043916334915208Trump said he would be arrested on Tuesday and called for protests. “THE FAR & AWAY LEADING REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE & FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, WILL BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK. PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!” Trump said. truthsocial.com/@realdonaldtrump/110044039949982181House Republicans immediately launched an investigation into DA Alvin Bragg, accusing him of abusing his power. Trump has been accused of paying Daniels ‘hush payments’ through his then-attorney Michael Cohen in a scheme to silence her and stop the story about their alleged affair from being published in the National Enquirer. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg elevated the Stormy ‘hush payment’ case from a misdemeanor to a felony earlier this year in a effort to ‘get Trump.’ House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer and House Administration Committee Chair Bryan Steil on Monday sent Bragg a letter demanding testimony and documents related to his investigation into the ‘hush payment’ after Trump said his arrest was imminent. Alvin Bragg hit back at House Republicans and blamed Trump for the arrest rumors as his case falters. The Manhattan grand jury was told to stay home on Wednesday and their session was abruptly canceled on Thursday after ‘surprise’ witness Robert Costello testified on Monday. “Your letter … is an unprecedent inquiry into a pending local prosecution. The letter only came after Donald Trump created a false expectation that he would be arrested the next day and his lawyers reportedly urged you to intervene,” District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office wrote in the letter House Republicans Jordan, Comer and Steil. Bragg, who is trying to prosecute a federal matter out of the state of New York, had the gall to claim the House GOP probe is an overreach into local matters. “The letter’s requests are an unlawful incursion into New York’s sovereignty,” Bragg’s office said. link

Trump Campaign Raises $1.5M In Grassroots Contributions After Warning Of Potential Arrest
By ProTrumpNews Staff Mar. 23, 2023 10:15 am The Deep State’s attacks on Donald Trump are backfiring. On March 18th, Donald Trump warned that he may be arrested. Truth Social: Page 2: NOW ILLEGAL LEAKS FROM A CORRUPT & HIGHLY POLITICAL MANHATTAN DISTRICT ATTORNEYS OFFICE, WHICH HAS ALLOWED NEW RECORDS TO BE SET IN VIOLENT CRIME & WHOSE LEADER IS FUNDED BY GEORGE SOROS, INDICATE THAT, WITH NO CRIME BEING ABLE TO BE PROVEN, & BASED ON AN OLD & FULLY DEBUNKED (BY NUMEROUS OTHER PROSECUTORS!) FAIRYTALE, THE FAR & AWAY LEADING REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE & FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, WILL BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK. PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK! After this warning, his campaign raked in $1.5 million in contributions. New York Post reported: Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign hauled in $1.5 million in grassroots contributions since he began alerting his legion of supporters of his possible impending arrest by the Manhattan district attorney, according to a report Wednesday. The former president turned to his Truth Social messaging platform Saturday to trumpet that he would be arrested on Tuesday by DA Alvin Bragg over a $130,000 hush-money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels in the weeks before the 2016 presidential election. Since then, his campaign has added $1.5 million to its coffers, Fox News Digital reported. … Trump also didn’t let up — nor did his campaign — even though Tuesday came and went without his arrest. In a fundraising video, Trump told supporters to help if they could, “if you are doing poorly, as so many of you are, do not send anything. If you are doing well, which was made possible through the great policies of the Trump Administration, send your contribution.” Fox News reported: “If the current Democrat regime can get away with threatening to arrest its biggest political opponent, then our once great Republic will have fully descended into a third-world tyranny,” Trump’s campaign said in a fundraising email sent hours later. The email, which solicits donations, told supporters that “you’re our country’s only hope.” And in a fundraising video on social media, Trump said: “if you are doing poorly, as so many of you are, do not send anything. If you are doing well, which was made possible through the great policies of the Trump Administration, send your contribution.” Another campaign email urged supporters to sign a petition that aims to compile “millions and millions of petition signatures from Americans like you CONDEMNING these threats of possible arrest.” Signing the petition directed supporters to a fundraising page, where they could make suggested donations of $500, $1,000 or $3,300 to Trump’s campaign. Trump has long been the most potent fundraiser in the GOP, thanks to his prowess with small dollar, grassroots donors. The former president brought in roughly $9.5 million in fundraising in the six weeks following his mid-November campaign launch – a respectable figure but less than the nearly $12 million his fundraising committees hauled in during the six weeks prior to his announcement that he was running a third time for the White House. The American people know this is a sham! link

Hostile Subject: Alvin Bragg Formally Refuses to Cooperate with Congressional Investigation
WENDELL HUSEBØ 23 Mar 2023 Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg formally refused to cooperate with the House Republicans’ congressional investigation into “unprecedented abuse” of authority against former President Donald Trump upon the expectation the former president would be arrested this week in connection with Bragg’s investigation, Breitbart News learned Thursday. Bragg denied providing testimony and documenters to top House Republican leadership due to “an unprecedented inquiry into a pending local prosecution,” he replied to Republicans. On Monday, Judiciary Committee chairman Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), Oversight Committee chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY), and Administration Committee chairman Rep. Bryan Steil (R-WI) demanded Bragg comply with the committee’s request for documents and testimony in anticipation of the possible indictment. The anticipation was generated after Trump announced Saturday that he expected to be arrested in the coming days based on “illegal leaks” from the Manhattan district attorney’s office, which is investigating Trump’s alleged role in hush money paid to Stormy Daniels. “The Letter only came after Donald Trump created a false expectation that he would be arrested the next day and his lawyers reportedly urged you to intervene,” Bragg’s replied to Republicans. “Neither fact is a legitimate basis for congressional inquiry.” “[T]he District Attorney is obliged by the federal and state constitutions to protect the independence of state law enforcement functions from federal interference,” he added. 2023.03.23 Letter Response From Manhattan DA by Breitbart News on Scribd here.Bragg’s response comes as Republicans have raised concerning questions about Bragg’s investigation. “Was the Manhattan DA’s office in communication with DOJ about their investigation of President Trump?” Jordan asked. “Was the Manhattan DA’s office using federal funds to investigate President Trump?” “I think we should hear Alvin Bragg testify before Congress, under oath, about his vision and the fact that this is wildly political and the fact that this was not pursued by federal courts and the fact that the Department of Justice passed on this,” House Republican conference chairwoman Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) told Breitbart News on Monday. Many legal experts believe Bragg’s potential case against Trump is shaky and may not hold up in court. “The case is legally pathetic,” Jonathan Turley, the Shapiro Professor of Public Interest Law at George Washington University, said. “It is extremely difficult to show that paying money to cover up an embarrassing affair was done for election purposes as opposed to an array of obvious other reasons, from protecting a celebrity’s reputation to preserving a marriage.” Video at link

Kayleigh McEnany Turns Tables On Manhattan DA: “Case against Trump is off base, unprecedented and unraveling”
David Hawkins March 23, 2023 - 4:21 pm Fox News’ star Kayleigh McEnany turned the tables on Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg after he sent a letter to Jim Jordan and the GOP-controlled House accusing them of making an ‘unprecedented inquiry into a pending local prosecution’ with his Trump case. McEnany said: “Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg calls congressional oversight ‘an unprecedented inquiry into a pending local prosecution.’ But experts say his case against President Trump is off base and unprecedented. “Alvin Bragg, hate to tell you, but your letter is totally off base…never in history has New York State brought a case about a federal election. Alvin Bragg, whew, it must feel a little hot in his office because his case is unraveling.” Jim Jordan fired back after seeing the letter: “Alvin Bragg should focus on prosecuting actual criminals in New York City rather than harassing a political opponent in another state. Make Manhattan Safe Again!” The letter said: The Manhattan District Attorney fired back at Jim Jordan after the GOP demanded Alvin Bragg’s testimony. The Manhattan DA’s general counsel, Leslie Dubeck, told Jordan and the GOP their request was an “unprecedented inquiry into a pending local prosecution.” She wrote: “The District Attorney of New York County is investigating allegations that Donald Trump engaged in violations of New York State penal law. “Your letter dated March 20, 2023 (the “Letter”), in contrast, is an unprecedented inquiry into a pending local prosecution. “The Letter only came after Donald Trump created a false expectation that he would be arrested the next day and his lawyers reportedly urged you to intervene. Neither fact is a legitimate basis for congressional inquiry. “In New York, the District Attorney is a constitutional officer charged with “the responsibility to conduct all prosecutions for crimes and offenses cognizable by the courts of the county in which he serves. “These are quintessential police powers belonging to the State, and your letter treads into territory very clearly reserved to the states. “It suggests that Congress’s investigation is being “conducted solely for the personal aggrandizement of the investigators or to ‘punish’ those investigated,” and is, therefore, “indefensible.” “The Letter seeks non-public information about a pending criminal investigation, which is confidential under state law. “The Letter’s requests are an unlawful incursion into ew York’s sovereignty. Congress’s investigative jurisdiction is derived from and limited by its power to legislate concerning federal matters. “The Constitution limits Congress’s powers to those specifically enumerated; and the Tenth Amendment ensures that any unenumerated powers are reserved to the States. “It is therefore generally understood that a Congressional committee may not “inquire into matters which are . . . reserved to the States.” “We trust that you appreciate the importance of our federal system, state law enforcement activities, and the critical need to maintain the integrity and independence of state criminal law enforcement from federal interference. “To assist Congress in understanding the ways in which the DA’s Office has used federal funds, we are preparing and will submit a letter describing its use of federal funds. “While the DA’s Office will not allow a Congressional investigation to impede the exercise of New York’s sovereign police power, this Office will always treat a fellow government entity with due respect. “Therefore, again, we reguest a meet and confer to understand whether the Committee has any legitimate legislative purpose in the requested materials that could be accommodated without impeding those sovereign interests. We simply expect that our office also be treated “in a manner consistent with [New York’s] status as a residuary sovereign and joint participant0 in the governance of the Nation,” she wrote. link

Breaking Report: Trump Grand Jury Kicks the Can Again, No Indictment in Immediate Future
By Bryan Chai March 23, 2023 at 10:15am Fans and detractors of former President Donald Trump alike are in a holding pattern — again. A report Thursday from The Wall Street Journal paints a picture of chaos and last-minute shuffling within the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office in New York as DA Alvin Bragg prepares to indict the former president for allegedly falsifying business records connected to the supposed “hush” money payments made to porn actress Stormy Daniels in 2016. The allegations, which have largely been shredded online as a gross overstep of federal overreach, claim Trump tried to keep an affair with Daniels secret in the lead-up to his 2016 presidential nomination and victory. The former president has long denied that any hush money was ever paid. In fact, he has insisted no affair happened. At first glance, it would be fair to surmise that Trump’s strong denials could portend a lack of evidence or other problems with the prosecution (thus delaying proceedings for the second time this week), but the Journal reported that everything is proceeding as planned. Trending: Kari Lake Scores Major Legal Victory in Election Challenge in AZ Supreme Court - 'This Is Huge' The grand jurors who will eventually hear the Trump case did convene on Thursday, it said — but to discuss “another matter unrelated” to Trump. “It is common for grand juries in New York to hear multiple cases at a time,” the Journal’s Corinne Ramey wrote. “Grand jury schedules can be unpredictable because panels juggle cases with competing demands and deadlines, former prosecutors said.” This latest delay follows a slightly different issue Wednesday in the Trump case. The grand jury meeting that was slated for that day was ultimately canceled at the behest of Bragg. Will Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg fail in his attempt to convict Trump? Yes: 99% (2744 Votes) No: 1% (39 Votes) According to the New York Post, Bragg canceled the Wednesday meeting because a key witness was unavailable. The report said Bragg believes the witness’ testimony will be key to countering key Trump arguments. Members of the grand jury were told to go home and wait on standby for a possible Thursday meeting, obviously raising hopes of a final decision being made by the weekend. Now, according to the Journal, it appears the earliest the grand jury will convene to discuss Trump will be after the weekend. The report said grand juries typically do not meet on Fridays. The former president caused quite a stir last weekend when he announced on Truth Social that he expected to be arrested on Tuesday. Since that stunning announcement, Trump has remained quite busy. Not only was the former president (with a looming potential indictment in his immediate future) spotted at the NCAA wrestling tournament over the weekend, but he also called on his supporters to both protest and pray for the future of this country. link
