Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg - who lied about growing up poor, has fired off an angry letter to House Republicans, calling their investigation into his case against former President Trump over hush payments to Stormy Daniels "an unprecedent [sic] inquiry into a pending local prosecution," adding "The letter only came after Donald Trump created a false expectation that he would be arrested the next day and his lawyers reportedly urged you to intervene."

The response comes after a Monday letter from House Republicans on the Weaponization of the Federal Government subcommittee.



"You are reportedly about to engage in an unprecedented abuse of prosecutorial authority: the indictment of a former President of the United States and current declared candidate for that office," read the Monday letter to Bragg from Reps. Jim Jordan (Judiciary Chairman), James Comer (Oversight Chairman) and Bryan Steil (House Admin Chairman).



The letter went on to shred the 'untested legal theory' underpinning Bragg's expected indictment, and calls out former Trump Attorney Michael Cohen, Bragg's star witness and a convicted perjurer, as having a "serious credibility problem."



GOP investigators demanded all documents and communications related to the decision.



And now, Bragg claims the GOP is overstepping their bounds.



"The letter’s requests are an unlawful incursion into New York’s sovereignty," the letter continues.



Earlier this week, Trump posted to Truth Social that he would likely be arrested on Tuesday - a rumor which set off a firestorm of political debate over a case which would normally be a misdemeanor, and was elevated to a felony by Bragg.

On Wednesday, a 2018 letter emerged in which an attorney for former Trump fixer Michael Cohen says that Cohen paid Stormy Daniels out of his own pocket and was not reimbursed.



"In a private transaction in 2016, before the U.S. presidential election, Mr. Cohen used his own personal funds to facilitate a payment of $130,000 to Ms. Stephanie Clifford [Stormy Daniels]," reads the 2018 letter from Cohen attorney Stephen Ryan to the Federal Election Commission, which asserts that Trump was not involved in the hush payment to the former porn star.

Indictment Backfire: Poll Shows Majority of Americans Think Charges Will Either Help Trump or Have No Effect

New polling suggests that a majority of Americans believe a looming indictment of former President Donald Trump from Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg will backfire and either not hurt him or actually help him in his quest to retake the White House.



The results of the poll, conducted by Convention of States Action in conjunction with the Trafalgar Group, were obtained by Breitbart News exclusively ahead of their public release. These results appear to be the first polling numbers conducted fully after Trump announced last weekend that he expected to be charged imminently, and show the solid majorities of Americans believe the indictment will not hurt Trump at all.

A whopping 74 percent of Americans believe that an indictment of Trump either helps him or will have no effect on his presidential campaign — 37.5 percent said it will not affect him and 36.8 percent said it will help him. Only 25.7 percent of voters surveyed think it will hurt his presidential campaign.



“It’s obvious to the majority of Americans that former President Trump is being hounded by a politically motivated witch hunt designed to discredit him in order to render him a permanent pariah in American politics,” Mark Meckler, the president of Convention of States, said. “This tactic has never worked, and these early numbers already reveal it’s going to backfire. Voters either think his indictment and arrest will either have absolutely no impact on his 2024 bid, or that it will even boost his campaign.”



Broken down by political party of respondents shows a pretty consistent view across the board among Democrats, independents, and Republicans — though among Republicans those who think it will help Trump jumps up into a clear majority.



Among Democrats, more than 57 percent believe an indictment would either not affect or help Trump’s campaign — 42.5 percent think it will have no effect and 14.8 percent think it will help him — while just 42.7 percent say it will hurt him.



Among independents, more than 72 percent think an indictment will have no effect or help Trump — 38.9 percent think it will have no effect and 33.6 percent say it will help him — while just 27.5 percent say it will hurt Trump.



Among Republicans, perhaps the most interesting group in the immediate term because these voters will decide the primary, a solid majority of 56.2 percent believe that an indictment would actually help Trump in his bid to retake the White House. Another 32.5 percent of Republicans say an indictment would have no effect on Trump’s White House chances — meaning that in total nearly 89 percent of GOP voters believe that an indictment would either help Trump or have no effect on his campaign — whereas just 11.3 percent say an indictment would hurt Trump.



The poll was conducted from March 20 to March 22, and surveyed 1,081 likely general election voters. It has a margin of error of 2.9 percent.

Immoral porn star Stormy Daniels, who rocketed to fame in the most clumsy and illogical way while claiming to have had a sexual affair with President Donald J. Trump when he was married to supermodel First Lady Melania Trump, has been humiliated another time for lying.



And now we find out that Trump, all along, has had the proof that he did not have an affair with the sleazy, deceitful porn star from her own hand.



“President Donald Trump just rocked the case against him in a Manhattan court with a letter that was penned by porn star Stormy Daniels, ” Carmine Sabia reported for The Conservative Brief, adding:



“In the letter from 2018, shared by Trump on his TruthSocial account on Thursday, Daniels denies any affair ever happened between the two.”



Trump’s Truth Social account is turning out to be a very smart move for him.



The letter read:



“Over the past few weeks I have been asked countless times to comment on reports of an alleged sexual relationship I had with Donald Trump many, many, many years ago,” Daniels said.



“The fact of the matter is that each party to this alleged affair denied its existence on 2006, 2011, 2016, 2017 and now again in 2018. I am not denying this affair because I was paid ‘hush money’ as has been reported in overseas owned tabloids. I am denying this affair because it never happened,” she said.



“I will have no further comment on this matter,” she said.








The letter is likely to be a death blow to the plan by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg to “get Trump”.



Friday’s status on the grand jury is that after not meeting on Wednesday the grand jury did not meet again in the Trump case on Thursday and it now appears an indictment is not coming this week a WSJ article reported that grand juries don’t meet on Fridays.



So now there is a weekend for everyone to catch up with the news.



A report from The Wall Street Journal details “chaos and last-minute shuffling within the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office,” adding that District Attorney Alvin Bragg is “scrambling” to indict Trump. The grand jurors who will eventually hear the Trump case did convene on Thursday but discussed “another matter unrelated” to Trump.



“It is common for grand juries in New York to hear multiple cases at a time,” the Journal’s Corinne Ramey wrote. “Grand jury schedules can be unpredictable because panels juggle cases with competing demands and deadlines, former prosecutors said.”



Sabia reported details about the case that will be brought under new scrutiny- saying the case involves Trump’s alleged role in hush money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 election, allegedly to keep Daniels quiet about an affair the two of them had in 2006.



Bragg responded on Thursday to a potential indictment and arrest of Trump and issued a vague statement that did not actually provide any information about what might happen next.



The Conservative Brief report went on:



“Bragg sent a letter to members of the House Judiciary Committee after they sent their own letter “demanding communications, documents, and testimony relating to Bragg’s unprecedented abuse of prosecutorial authority and the potential indictment of former President Donald Trump.”



In his letter, the Manhattan DA said his office will “publicly state the conclusion of our investigation—whether we conduct our work without bringing charges, or move forward with an indictment.”



Bragg also addressed the letter the House Judiciary Committee previously sent to his office and said, “Your letter dated March 20, 2023, (the ‘Letter’), in contrast, is an unprecedented inquiry into a pending local prosecution. The letter only came after Donald Trump created a false expectation that he would be arrested the next day and his lawyers reportedly urged you to intervene. Neither fact is a legitimate basis for a congressional inquiry.”



The former president posted an all-caps message to his TruthSocial account tearing into the DA and saying that there is no case.”



“WHY WON’T BRAGG DROP THIS CASE? EVERYBODY SAYS THERE IS NO CRIME HERE,” Trump said on TRUTH. “I DID NOTHING WRONG! IT WAS ALL MADE UP BY A CONVICTED NUT JOB WITH ZERO CREDIBILITY, WHO HAS BEEN DISPUTED BY HIGHLY RESPECTED PROFESSIONALS AT EVERY TURN. BRAGG REFUSES TO STOP DESPITE OVERWHELMING EVIDENCE TO THE CONTRARY. HE IS A SOROS-BACKED ANIMAL WHO JUST DOESN’T CARE ABOUT RIGHT OR WRONG NO MATTER HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE HURT. THIS IS NO LEGAL SYSTEM, THIS IS THE GESTAPO, THIS IS RUSSIA AND CHINA, BUT WORSE. DISGRACEFUL!” Trump wrote.



The letter comes after a 2018 letter from Michael Cohen’s attorney surfaced where Cohen took full responsibility for the payoff to porn star Stormy Danials.



“In a private transaction in 2016, before the U.S. presidential election, Mr. Cohen used his own personal funds to facilitate a payment of $130,000 to Ms. Stephanie Clifford. Neither the Trump Organization nor the Trump campaign was a party to the transaction with Ms. Clifford, and neither reimbursed Mr. Cohen for the payment directly or indirectly,” it said.



Knowledge of the two letters exonerating Trump comes at the same time that Bragg’s office is having issues convincing the grand jury to indict Trump over his alleged role- which now appears completely made up.



‘They are having trouble convincing the jury to swallow the case. It’s a weak case and has caused divisions in the DA’s office,” a source said to The Daily Mail.

Trump Gets Defended From Alvin Bragg Prosecution by … Andrew Cuomo?

When it comes to the Alvin Bragg prosecution, Trump has found an unlikely defender in former New York governor and Democrat, Andrew Cuomo.



Cuomo said that the case is all about politics, and obviously he is right. It’s just surprising to hear such a common sense opinion coming from someone who has been so openly critical of Trump.



It’s possible that there are lots of other Democrats who know this in their hearts, but can’t say it out loud.

“I don’t understand why Bragg is putting such emphasis on this case,” the former governor told WABC Radio on Friday night.



“A person breaks the law I get it, but on the state side this is a misdemeanor case. It’s really a federal case because he needs it to be a campaign finance fraud case which is a federal case and that’s what Bragg is going to have to do to get a felony out of this.”



Cuomo said that the public is generally “cynical” and “when they see prosecutors bringing these political cases” it just “affirms everybody’s cynicism.”



“I think it’s all politics and that’s what I think the people of this country are saying,” Cuomo continued. “It just feeds that anger and that cynicism and the partisanship. It’s a coincidence that Bragg goes after Trump and Tish James goes after Trump and Georgia goes after Trump? That’s all a coincidence? I think it feeds the cynicism and that’s the cancer in our body politic right now.”

Alvin Bragg on Thursday lashed out at House Republicans and blamed Trump for starting rumors about his imminent arrest.

Reps. Jim Jordan, James Comer and Bryan Steil responded to Bragg in an eight page letter.



“Notably, your reply letter did not dispute the central allegations at issue—that you, under political pressure from left-wing activists and former prosecutors in your office, are reportedly planning to use an alleged federal campaign finance violation, previously declined by federal prosecutors, as a vehicle to extend the statute of limitations on an otherwise misdemeanor offense and indict for the first time in history a former President of the United States. Moreover, you are apparently attempting to upgrade a misdemeanor charge to a felony using an untested legal theory at the same time when you are simultaneously downgrading felony charges to misdemeanors in a majority of other cases in your jurisdiction.” the House Republicans wrote.



“Contrary to the central argument set forth in your letter, this matter does not simply involve local or state interests. Rather, the potential criminal indictment of a former President of the United States by an elected local prosecutor of the opposing political party (and who will face the prospect of re-election) implicates substantial federal interests, particularly in a jurisdiction where trial-level judges also are popularly elected,” they wrote.



Jordan, Comer and Steil told Alvin Bragg he has until March 31 to comply with their demands.

Former President Donald Trump slammed his potential indictment by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg as “prosecutorial misconduct” by “radical left maniacs.”



Speaking in Waco, Texas, with supporters waving “witch hunt” signs in the background, Trump delivered a stinging rebuke of Bragg, who is investigating him “for something that is not a crime, not a misdemeanor, not an affair,” Trump said.



Using Stormy Daniels’s nickname, he said he never liked or had an affair with her. “I never liked horse face. I never liked [her] — it’s just not. That wouldn’t be the one. There is no one. We have a great first lady, who people really do love, and she’s done an incredible job,” he said.



Trump suggested Bragg’s investigation was premeditated against him. Bragg recruited Matthew Colangelo as a Senior Counsel to his office from the “Department of Injustice” to investigate him, as Trump phrased it.



“He stacked his office with D.C. operatives [with] a man named Matthew Colangelo, one of the top people in the Department of Justice, was moved into the Manhattan DA’s office to make sure that Trump got taken care of. They couldn’t get it done in Washington,” he said.



“And they sent him into New York to be in the Manhattan office. Can you imagine that?” Trump asked.



“In order to prosecute and do everything he could to get rid of Trump because, you know, our poll numbers are through the roof,” he added.



“This is really prosecutorial misconduct. That’s what it’s called. The innocence of people makes no difference whatsoever to these radical left maniacs,” Trump said.



Alluding to the failed attacks by the administrative state on the former president, Trump decried the potential indictment as just the next hoax.



“Impeachment hoax number one, phony deal. Impeachment hoax number, two phony deal. The Mueller witch hunt, phony deal,” Trump reminded those in the audience.



“So, they’re not coming after me. They’re coming after you, and I’m just standing in their way, and I’m going to be standing in their way,” Trump stated.

Alan Dershowitz Says Alvin Bragg Could Be Disbarred If He Uses Michael Cohen In Trump Case: “He could lose his bar license”

Former Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz went on Fox News star Maria Bartiromo’s show where he said Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg could his law license if he went through with charging former President Donald Trump.



Alan said that if the Manhattan district attorney uses Michael Cohen’s testimony to try to get Trump the move could backfire and get him disbarred. Alan said:



“I don’t think an indictment can actually come forward now after the comments made by Costello. He has proved that the main witness is going to be a perjuring liar on the witness stand. And that puts the District Attorney in a terrible position. If he uses Cohn as a witness, he could actually lose his bar license.



“It’s unethical to put a witness on the stand who you know is lying, and he has to know that Cohen will be lying.



“The title of my book, I Didn’t invent it, “Get Trump.” It comes from a campaign pledge made by the Attorney General of New York when she was running for reelection. She promised that if she were elected, she would, quote, “Get Trump.”



“And Bragg said the same thing. They both promised they would get Trump.



“Then they said, let’s rummage through the statute books and see what we can find. And they rubbished. And they couldn’t find anything.



“They couldn’t find a statutory violation. So they made one up that was beyond the statute of limitations. “That involved combining a misdemeanor, that never occurred, with a federal felony or maybe a state felony.


“This is the worst example of prosecutorial abuse of discretion I have seen in my 60 years of practicing criminal law.



“That’s why I wrote Trump – not about Trump, it’s about us. Because today it’s Trump, tomorrow it’s a Democrat. The day after tomorrow it’s your Uncle Charlie and your nephew and your niece.



“Maybe grand jurors would finally wake up and say ‘No, we’re not ham sandwiches here. We’re gonna stand up for the law and the law says you don’t indict under these circumstances.”



Alan said on Tucker Carlson’s show:



“Well, first of all, I just got a tweet or a note from Donald Trump himself, in which he endorsed my book, urges everybody read it, but he says, ‘Alan enjoys saying, I didn’t vote for Trump. I believe he probably did. He just uses that phrase for added credibility, but it doesn’t matter. He’s a brilliant guy, and you should read his book.’



“No, I didn’t.



“I never mix politics and my constitutional analysis.



“My book ‘Get Trump’ is a book about lying. It’s all about lying.



“It’s about the four lies that have resulted in four investigations, including doctoring a tape, which is, of course, what the January 6 Committee did when it left out the words ‘peacefully and patriotically.’



“It’s about Michael Cohen, who may be the world’s biggest liar.



“He gets all the Pinocchios, and the district attorney has making a very hard decision now.



“Does he put his bar at risk, his bar certificate at risk, by putting on the stand the man he knows is going to lie in violation of the rules of ethics?

Turley: Alvin Bragg Has Handed Trump ‘Proof Positive’ of His Long Narrative — ‘This Is a Political Prosecution’

On this week’s broadcast of “Fox News Sunday,” George Washington law professor Jonathan Turley criticized Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s aggressive push to prosecute former President Donald Trump.



According to Turley, Bragg’s attempt will prove Trump’s narrative that it is a “political prosecution.”



“Well, they have discretion, but they don’t have discretion to create their own laws,” he said. “And what is being done is something that most of us consider really beyond the pale, that is Bragg is taking a New York misdemeanor, which, by the way, has expired, only a two-year statute of limitations, and he’s potentially bootstrapping that into a felony. But he intends, according to reports, to prove a federal crime that the Department of Justice itself declined to prosecute. Now that effort, he’s losing already the court of public opinion. A poll came out showing roughly 60 percent of people viewed this as politically motivated. But he’s playing to a jury pool in New York.”



“And the likelihood of finding a Trump supporter in the New York jury pool is about the same as finding a triceratops,” Turley added. “I mean, it’s not that likely. But he also has judges in New York who I think are going to look askance at this and say, wait, you’re a state prosecutor, and you’re going to prove a federal crime? I think he’s got a rough road ahead. But what he has done is handed Trump proof positive of his long narrative. NYC Grand Jury Investigating Junk Charges on President Trump Reconvenes Today

The New York City Grand Jury investigating the junk charges against President Trump is reconvening today.



Soros-funded District Attorney Alvin Bragg promised to go after President Trump before he entered office. Bragg is using a serial liar as his key witness in his attempt to jail President Trump.



Law professor Alan Dershowitz said on Sunday that Bragg could be disbarred if he moves forward with the charges.


The New York Post reported:



A Manhattan grand jury weighing whether to indict former President Donald Trump is set to reconvene Monday – after chaotic sessions last week when they didn’t hear evidence in the case for two days straight.



Jurors are scheduled to meet Monday afternoon in the lower Manhattan municipal building where they’ve gathered since the investigation began — but it’s unclear if they’ll hear from an additional witness or begin deliberations.



The panel will reportedly weigh whether to hit Trump with falsification of business records related to hush money payments his former fixer, Michael Cohen, made to porn star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 presidential election.



A number of news reports last week suggested Trump could be indicted – and the former president himself wrote on social media that he expected to be arrested.



This comes after President Trump suggested the bogus charges against him will be dropped.

Alvin Bragg Blinks: Manhattan Trump Grand Jury Set To Break For A Month

Former President Donald Trump got another big break and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg got some bad news regarding the Manhattan grand jury that will vote on Trump’s indictment.



After facing massive backlash from even allies on the left, Bragg seems to have gotten cold feet with his impending indictment. At one point barricades were set up in New York in anticipation of a Trump arrest but then nothing.



Even CNN questioned Bragg’s antics with Van Jones telling him he was making a mistake. And now Bragg will have to wait at least another month before making his move because the grand jury is set to take a long break.



The grand jury isn’t meeting Wednesday and is expected to examine evidence in a different case Thursday sources told Politico.



The grand jury typically meets Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.



According to Politico:



The Manhattan grand jury examining Donald Trump’s alleged role in a hush money payment to a porn star isn’t expected to hear evidence in the case for the next month largely due to a previously scheduled hiatus, according to a person familiar with the proceedings.



The break would push any indictment of the former president to late April at the earliest, although it is possible that the grand jury’s schedule could change.

In recent weeks, the Manhattan district attorney’s office hasn’t convened the panel on certain days.

Report: New York Grand Jury Indicts Donald Trump

A grand jury in New York has indicted former President Donald Trump, according to the New York Times.



“A Manhattan grand jury voted to indict Donald J. Trump on Thursday for his role in paying hush money to a porn star, according to four people with knowledge of the matter, a historic development that will shake up the 2024 presidential race and forever mark him as the nation’s first former president to face criminal charges,” the New York Times reported on Thursday evening. “The felony indictment, filed under seal by the Manhattan district attorney’s office, will likely be announced in the coming days. By then, prosecutors working for the district attorney, Alvin L. Bragg, will have asked Mr. Trump to surrender and to face arraignment on charges that remain unknown for now.” What kind of BS is this? 


As for now, it remains unclear how and if Trump will appear in New York to face the reported charges but several reports in recent weeks have indicated that U.S. Secret Service agents assigned to Trump’s detail have been working with local officials in Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office to coordinate such a possibility.



“Mr. Bragg and his lawyers will likely attempt to negotiate Mr. Trump’s surrender,” the Times added in its report. “If he agrees, it will raise the prospect of a former president, with the Secret Service in tow, being photographed and fingerprinted in the bowels of a New York State courthouse.The prosecution’s star witness is Michael D. Cohen, Mr. Trump’s former fixer who paid the $130,000 to keep Ms. Daniels quiet. Mr. Cohen has said that Mr. Trump directed him to buy Ms. Daniels’s silence, and that Mr. Trump and his family business, the Trump Organization, helped cover the whole thing up. The company’s internal records falsely identified the reimbursements as legal expenses, which helped conceal the purpose of the payments.”



Assuming this report is true, Trump would be the first former president in American history to face criminal charges. Since Trump is running again for president as well, this news would also throw a serious curveball into the political calculus for the 2024 presidential campaign–both in a primary and a general election. Several of Trump’s declared and possible rivals in the 2024 GOP primary denounced Bragg after Trump announced last weekend he expected to be indicted soon, and how each handled their response to it was critical for the possible or actual candidacies of each.



What’s more, congressional Republicans raced to respond to the news last week as well–with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy directing not one but three separate congressional panels to investigate Bragg in response. Bragg brushed off initial inquiries into the matter from House Oversight Committee chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY), House Judiciary Committee chairman Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), and House Administration Committee chairman Rep. Bryan Steil (R-WI). Their response from here is almost certainly going to escalate.



Trump for the last couple weeks has criticized Bragg and his office, insisting that he is innocent and questioning why he would face charges. Trump also called for protests in response, something critics have latched onto to suggest he is intent on summoning a violent mob to do his bidding. Threats and suspicious packages received by Bragg’s office have only heightened scrutiny, and a photograph that appeared on Trump’s Truth Social account last week as part of an article he linked to criticizing Bragg further escalated matters.

Constitutional law professor Jonathan Turley opined on the indictment in a Thursday interview with Fox News.



"Bragg reportedly has secured his indictment. He has made history, but it is an inglorious moment where even some on the left have criticized the effort. This is a patently political prosecution. Bragg and NY AG James ran on bagging Trump. This has fulfilled that pledge but, if the indictment follows the course described in coverage, it is deeply flawed theory. We will have to wait to see the indictment. ...The objection is not to the prosecuting of a misdemeanor but the reported effort to extend the statute of limitations under an unprecedented bootstrapping theory. We have not heard of an alternative criminal theory.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, meanwhile, has issued a statement condemning the "weaponization of the legal system to advance a political agenda," adding that Florida "will not assist in an extradition request given the questionable circumstances at issue with this Soros-backed Manhattan prosecutor and his political agenda."

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has weighed in as well, tweeting; "Alvin Bragg has irreparably damaged our country in an attempt to interfere in our Presidential election.

Interestingly, as The Epoch Times' Jack Phillips reported, this month-long delay came after an attorney in former President Donald Trump’s orbit who testified in front of a Manhattan grand jury earlier this month believes that there has been a shift in Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s case against the 45th president.



“Well, I think I got through to them, because [Monday] I understand they called back another witness by the name of David Pecker, who used to run the National Enquirer,” Costello, a former Michael Cohen attorney, told Newsmax on Tuesday.



“Basically, what they’re doing is really gerrymandering this,” he said of Bragg’s probe into Trump.



Costello said he had represented Cohen, himself a former Trump lawyer, and told reporters last week that he does not believe Cohen is a credible witness against Trump.



Sounds like that wasn't the case.



The prosecution's star witness in the case is former Trump attorney Michael Cohen, who paid Stormy Daniels $130,000 to keep quiet about sleeping with Trump. Cohen said that Trump directed him to buy her silence (contrary to a 2018 letter from his lawyer claiming the opposite), and says that the Trump organization helped cover it up.



The case brought by Mr. Bragg, a Democrat, is far from a sure bet. Mr. Bragg’s predecessor, Cyrus Vance Jr., and federal prosecutors each passed on charging Mr. Trump in a stand-alone case related to the hush money. If the case goes to trial, a conviction would almost certainly require a jury to credit the testimony of former Trump attorney Michael Cohen, who has faced his own legal troubles and pleaded guilty to an array of federal felonies in 2018. The indictment is an absolute scandal, the banana republic on parade, the prosecutor using the weapons of his office to attack his political opponent.



Bragg and his predecessor’s slow-walking of the investigation, with its inception by Manhattan DA goes back to 2019, evidences both the dubious nature of the case against Trump and the political motivations for prosecuting Trump. Theoretically, this should be a simple case. Yet the investigation went on for nearly five years, despite what they’ve possessed: overzealous prosecutors who wanted to charge Trump with racketeering, the cooperating witnesses, the likely millions of pages of materials from the Trump Organization.



Now suddenly, the insanely pro-criminal Manhattan DA, who demanded his prosecutors reduce charges for violent criminals, is prioritizing law and order. It’s hard to believe there are legitimate reasons – for prosecutors, that means seeking justice – for that transformation. Why bring the case now? It’s the start of the 2024 presidential campaign season.



You can’t help but think of the political calculations that went on in Bragg’s head. Not only does he benefit personally, now elevated to a liberal folk hero after being the prosecutor to finally get Trump (a campaign promise he keeps), but this throws a grenade into the Republican race. Will the GOP base rally to Trump? How will the other candidates respond?



And what will this do for the undecideds and the independents and the swing voters – those who are essential to victory in 2024?



Some of those questions will be answered in the short term. Some of them won’t be answered until election day, assuming Trump gets the GOP nod.



That’s because the case won’t go away. It’s illegitimate and political, but it’s here to stay for the time being. Don’t be surprised if the trial date is set for the first half of 2024. And don’t understate the danger to Trump, who will face a jury of Biden voters. Biden won Manhattan 86.7% to 12.3% according to the New York Times. The jury of Trump’s peers will be friendly to the prosecution. That’s all the Manhattan DA might need to secure a conviction. Trump could very well win on appeal but the damage - which carries national repercussions - might already have been done.



And that’s the whole point of this dirty scheme.

Report: NYPD Tells Every Member to Show Up in Uniform Friday Morning After Trump Indictment

The New York Police Department (NYPD) told every member of its force to report in full uniform on Friday morning as a “precautionary measure” following the indictment of former President Donald Trump, the Hill reported.



“All uniformed members of the New York City Police Department are to show up in uniform as of 0700 hours on 03-31-2023 as a precautionary measure,” a spokesperson said in a statement Thursday night.



The NYPD states on its website that it employs 36,000 officers and 19,000 civilian employees.

Workers previously were seen unloading steel barricades from a New York Police Department truck on March 20 outside the Manhattan Criminal Court and the Manhattan district attorney’s offices after Trump predicted he was soon to be arrested and called on his supporters to protest.

Trump is facing 34 counts related to business fraud as CNN first reported.

Before springing this nasty surprise, the jury announced on Wednesday that they were going on a month-long break.



Former Vice President Mike Pence sat down for an interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer Thursday night. As one would expect, the first question from Blitzer was about the indictment of Trump.



Pence responded by calling the indictment an “outrage.”

I think the unprecedented indictment of a former president of the United States on a campaign finance issue is an outrage.



And it appears to millions of Americans to be nothing more than a political prosecution that is driven by a prosecutor who literally ran for office on a pledge to indict the former president.



Pence, however, refused to give a straight answer whether Trump should drop out of the presidential race if convicted on these garbage charges.

It’s a long way to that decision, I promised to answer that question if that approaches.



Wrong answer. It’s fair to wonder whether Pence is secretly rooting for a Trump conviction in hopes he will drop out.



He has no chance of winning the nomination otherwise.



As previously reported, Trump is accused of providing $130,000 in 2016 to his disgraced former lawyer Michael Cohen, who then allegedly passed the money on as hush money to Daniels.



Cohen was previously convicted of several crimes and sentenced to three years in prison in 2018. These charges include lying to Congress, as well as campaign-finance violations and tax evasion.



Federal prosecutors for the Southern District of New York decided against charging Trump related to the Stormy Daniels payment back in 2019, despite Cohen’s testimony. The Federal Election Commission also closed the investigation into the case in 2021.



However, Bragg, whose campaign was funded by billionaire far-left extremist donor George Soros, has opted to revive the case to bring charges against the former president.

Pelosi Statement on Trump Indictment Turns Justice on Its Head: Says He Has the “Right to a Trial to Prove Innocence”

Psycho Trump hater Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), the former Speaker of the House who impeached President Trump twice out of spite, issued a statement Thursday night on Trump’s indictment by a Manhattan jury that turned the justice system on its head. Pelosi said that Trump “has the right to a trial to prove innocence.”

The American standard of justice is that the government has to prove a defendant guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Defendants do not have to prove anything and have a Fifth Amendment right to not be “compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law.”



Pelosi’s statement was posted online, “The Grand Jury has acted upon the facts and the law. No one is above the law, and everyone has the right to a trial to prove innocence. Hopefully, the former President will peacefully respect the system, which grants him that right.”

Cornell Law definition of the “beyond a reasonable doubt” burden of proof for prosecutors:



“Beyond a reasonable doubt is the legal burden of proof required to affirm a conviction in a criminal case. In a criminal case, the prosecution bears the burden of proving that the defendant is guilty beyond all reasonable doubt. This means that the prosecution must convince the jury that there is no other reasonable explanation that can come from the evidence presented at trial. In other words, the jury must be virtually certain of the defendant’s guilt in order to render a guilty verdict. This standard of proof is much higher than the civil standard, called “preponderance of the evidence,” which only requires a certainty greater than 50 percent.”



Cornell Law on presumption of innocence:



“A presumption of innocence means that any defendant in a criminal trial is assumed to be innocent until they have been proven guilty. As such, a prosecutor is required to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the person committed the crime if that person is to be convicted. To do so, proof must be shown for every single element of a crime. That being said, a presumption of innocence does not guarantee that a person will remain free until their trial has concluded. In some circumstances, a person can be held in custody. The presumption of innocence is not guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution. However, through statutes and court decisions–such as the U.S. Supreme Court case of Taylor v. Kentucky–it has been recognized as one of the most basic requirements of a fair trial.”



Politico’s Kyle Cheney fact checked Pelosi, ““Prove innocence” is not the standard in criminal matters. The burden is on the government to prove Trump’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, and he enjoys the presumption of innocence until that moment.”

Washington Post Editorial Board: Trump Indictment a Poor ‘Test Case’ for Prosecuting a Former President

The Washington Post’s editorial board on Friday called the District Attorney of New York Alvin Bragg’s case against former President Donald Trump “shaky” and a “poor test case” for indicting a former president.



“Public perception and political strategy shouldn’t dissuade a district attorney from bringing a solid case, but neither should they persuade him to bring a shaky one,” the editorial board wrote on Friday.



On Thursday evening, news broke that the grand jury in Bragg’s case had voted to indict Trump. While the indictment has not yet been unsealed, it is widely expected that Bragg will bring state criminal charges against Trump for allegedly falsifying business records in 2016 to hide an alleged federal campaign finance violation.



Specifically, Bragg is expected to argue that Trump falsified business records by mislabeling a reimbursement to his then-lawyer Michael Cohen, who paid hush-money to porn actress Stormy Daniels, as legal expenses. Bragg is then expected to argue that Trump’s campaign did not report the payment to Daniels as a campaign expense, in violation of federal campaign rules.



Legal scholars on the right and left have also cast doubt over whether Bragg’s gambit will work, since it has never been proven there was any campaign finance violation, and there is doubt he can use a state criminal charge that is normally a misdemeanor and upgrade it to a felony by claiming it was done to hide another crime — in this case, the alleged campaign finance violation.

The Post‘s editorial board joined those scholars with its recent piece.



“Pyramiding two transgressions of state rules to go after a federal candidate is legally plausible. But the strategy is also novel, and courts may regard it with skepticism. What’s more, the potential campaign finance charge itself is shaky,” it wrote.



The editorial board noted that when federal prosecutors tried to charge former Sen. John Edwards (D-NC) with a campaign finance violation for paying hush-money to a woman he had an affair with, Edwards successfully argued he was trying to prevent his wife from finding out rather than trying to benefit his campaign. The trial ended in an acquittal, and the Justice Department dropped the case.



The Post’s editorial board argued that although campaign finance violations should be taken seriously, there were potential downsides of indicting Trump. They argued that there were better cases to bring against Trump, and this case could put those in jeopardy:



This prosecution is now bound to be the test case for any future former president, as well as, of course, proceedings against this former president in particular — of which there are plenty. Other investigations underway include Justice Department examinations of the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection and classified documents discovered at Mar-a-Lago, where the possibility of obstruction of justice is particularly grave. These are straightforward cases compared with the one proceeding in Manhattan. A failed prosecution over the hush-money payment could put them all in jeopardy, as well as provide Mr. Trump ammunition for his accusations of ‘witch hunt’ — in light of which House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) was right to urge supporters to refrain from protesting.



It concluded: “This prosecution needs to be airtight. Otherwise, it’s not worth continuing.”

The Congressman vowed to “ensure that every single federal dollar is rescinded from this office and to restore impartiality in our courts.”



The Gateway Pundit reported that DA Alvin Bragg sent out a new letter to House Republicans this morning, boasting about his indictment of Trump and accusing them of “collaborat(ing) with Mr. Trump’s efforts to vilify and denigrate the integrity of elected state prosecutors and trial judges and made unfounded allegations that the Office’s investigation, conducted via an independent grand jury of average citizens serving New York State, is politically motivated.”



This is despicable. He has no shame for his unconstitutional actions and it is clear that the Democrats have been emboldened to destroy America.

Congressman Biggs released the following statement, calling out former Nazi George Soros “and his hand-picked minion,” Alvin Bragg, for their “corrupt bastardization of our justice system.”

Trump Lawyer: No Plea Deal in Case Related to Stormy Daniels ‘Hush Payment’ (VIDEO)

Trump will not take a plea deal in the Stormy Daniels ‘hush payment’ case, according to the former president’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina.



Trump has been accused of paying porn star Stormy Daniels, AKA, Stephanie Clifford, ‘hush payments’ through his then-attorney Michael Cohen in a scheme to silence her and stop the story about their alleged affair from being published in the National Enquirer.



The payments made to Stormy Daniels did NOT come from Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.



The payments were made through internal business records – there was no tax deduction taken and there was no obligation to file it with the FEC, according to Joe Tacopina.


A Manhattan Grand Jury voted to indict President Trump anyway.



The indictment is currently under seal, however, according to a leak to CNN, President Trump was hit with 34 counts related to business fraud.



Details of the charges are still not known.



Per CBS: “Sources familiar with the investigation tell CBS tonight that Bragg has some documents that have been uncovered during the probe but are not yet known to the public/been reported, both financial records and communications between key figures… will use these as well as testimony”

President Trump’s lawyer Joe Tacopina said Trump will not take a plea deal.



“Zero! Zero!” Tacopina said. “President Trump will not take a plea deal in this case.”

On Thursday night New York City DA Alvin Bragg announced his office was indicting President Trump.



The indictment is currently under seal, however, according to a leak to CNN, President Trump was hit with 34 counts related to business fraud.



“Former President Donald Trump faces more than 30 counts related to business fraud in an indictment from a Manhattan grand jury, according to two sources familiar with the case.” CNN reported.



President Trump is expected to be arraigned on Tuesday at 2:15 PM ET in New York City on the garbage charges.


On Friday Harmeet Dhillon joined Tucker Carlson to discuss the criminal leak on the New York City DA’s garbage indictment of President Donald Trump.



Harmeet suggested the Soros-funded DA will attempt to silence President Trump with a gag order. That way the communist left can prevent President Trump from campaigning.



Tucker Carlson: You have seen cases, politicized cases, as with Roger Stone, in which the person charged is gagged by the judge and not allowed to speak about the charges. This is increasingly common, in violation of the First Amendment, obviously. But it happens. If this happens to Donald Trump, he will lose his free speech rights as a candidate in a presidential race. And I’m just wondering if you think that could potentially happen.



Harmeet Dhillon: Well, it very much could happen. In fact, we’ve seen it talked about on television already, and in fact, the President has been subject to similar allegations in other litigation that he’s involved in and also way beyond the statute of limitations. The story is that because he says mean things about people sometimes on his free speech platforms, that he should not be allowed to speak about a fundamental issue of due process that governs the future of our country and how we look at justice and how we look at the politicization of this political process. So that would be a gross miscarriage of justice if it occurs. And I would not be surprised to see this politicized prosecutor make that request of this judge.



Tucker Carlson: I honestly think it’s impossible to imagine greater election interference, a greater or more aggressive attack on our democracy, than gagging a presidential candidate in a presidential year. I mean, Vladimir Putin has never dreamed of any attack on the United States more damaging than that. Would anyone be able to stop it?



Harmeet Dhillon: Well, certainly the lawyers in this case will argue against that… But at the end of the day if a court sets those rules, then the litigant has to abide by them or be in contempt of court. And that itself would be a very dangerous course to pursue.

BREAKING LEAK: Trump Hit with 34 Counts Related To Business Fraud

An unprecedented act of Lawfare that happened Thursday night reveals that the US Justice System is dependent on the morals and ethics of the politicians in charge of the courts to work respectfully. That fact has shaken the nation into deep anger over massive injustice.



The situation is so bad that people have images of a manhunt or a slow-speed chase down the highway- to evade police.



And from late-night reports, emotions are running high and are likely going to be a painful reminder that the enemies of the United States of America are deeply embedded into our institutions, and they care nothing at all for our Representative style of government.



It is obvious now that the alliances of people out to destroy the America First movement plan to win their power grabs and usurpations- by any means necessary.



The United States of America now has a legal system that operates just like a third world full of people who have plotted the transformation of America for decades.



President Donald J. Trump, who is leading in the polls as the favored candidate to win the 2024 Presidential election, will surrender himself in New York City to be arrested for what amounts to his legal team making a clerical error.



And the optics of his closest rival, Ron DeSantis, being the Governor of the state where Trump resides is causing people to wonder if DeSantis will move to protect Trump, or hand him over.



With much creativity and a sheer determination to “Get Trump,” DA Alvin Bragg successfully got a Grand Jury to side with him on some “trumped” up charges.



Now, America watches in horror at what the Democrats have done to our liberty and our nation and how all the players like DeSantis will react.

“Earlier Thursday, a spokesperson for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said the office has contacted Trump’s attorney to “coordinate his surrender” for arraignment on “a Supreme Court indictment, which remains under seal.”” the outlet reported.



Donald Trump is the first ex-president to ever be charged with a ‘crime.’

Already there are a lot of questions about why a Grand Jury is leaking so much information to Radical left media sites.



“When I served on a Grand Jury, we were not allowed to talk about any indictments. Why is this one allowed? Leaks are in violation and consequences should be had. Oh, I forgot, two-tiered system. Never mind, carry on,” one poster wrote on Twitter.



“It’s a crime to leak grand jury information. Good luck prosecuting that crime with the democrat communists in power. It is very important every American regardless of our differences stand up to the communist democrats. Save democracy,” another poster wrote.



The New York Post reported on the indictment:



Bragg is inflating a minor possible crime into a felony so he can launch his own campaign for re-election. How bad is the case?



Let us count the ways. The key witness, lawyer Michael Cohen, is a congenital liar. Precedent shows that in other similar cases, such as against one-time presidential candidate John Edwards, the defendants have been found not guilty.



Bragg’s own predecessor — and the feds! — declined to bring this case against Trump for six years.



Bragg is trying to convert a state-level misdemeanor, falsifying financial records, into a federal felony.



A less self-interested prosecutor would have dropped it and . . . we don’t know, gone after the scourge of gun violence or the shoplifting and robbing epidemic on New York’s streets?



Trump faces investigations that are, to our minds, far more serious: his actions on Jan. 6 and pushing for Georgia to “find votes” for him.



The Stormy Daniels case is a goose egg that just convinces America that our legal system is biased and politicized.



That Bragg couldn’t see that — or didn’t care — shows just how bad of a district attorney he is.
