I just had to share this excellent news with you all!
For those who don't know, I have three grown children: two daughters and a son (who is gay).
For years and years and years I have been praying for my children's salvation and sharing the gospel with them every chance I get. My son accepted the Lord many years ago. Now even though he is gay, he still loves the Lord and he still talks about Him and He shares his faith with his friends. I am praying my son will see how his homosexuality is grieving the Lord and he'll get out of that lifestyle. In the meantime, I will continue to love him and support him, and accept him for what he is (because let's face it, we are ALL sinners who have our on special 'sins' even us veteran Christians) and love his gay friends because they need Christ too. My heart goes out to gay people. I have a very special love in my heart for them.
My middle daughter is what I would call a sincere seeker and I think she is slowly but surely coming to God in her own way. I can't force her. I see the Lord has been working on her heart and I trust in Him to bring her to Him.
But it is my oldest daughter that has caused me the most grief. She's a very intelligent, free-spirited Party Girl who could care less about God. Whenever I brought God up she would blow me off or the conversation would veer off into never never land so I stopped mentioning anything about God to her. But I never stopped praying for her.
Last week she surprised me. She emailed me at work and said that her grandmother (my mom, bless her heart!) gave her a bible and miracles upon miracles she was reading it! And actually liking it!! I was beyond thrilled! So she started asking me questions about what she was reading and I would explain to her and I could tell it was sinking in and a light bulb was going off in her brain. She then said she wanted to get right with God so that she can go live with Him forever in Heaven and I told her the Good News and told her just to talk to God and tell Him what she told me. Then I started praying like mad that the Holy Spirit would guide her heart to the Lord and that God would make Himself known to her in a big way that she would have absolutely NO doubt that God was there and listening to her.
Last night when I was in bed reading she came in all smiles and said, 'Mom you will never guess what happened to me!' While she was driving home from work she asked God to forgive her for her sins and that she believed with all her heart that Jesus is the Son of God and died on the cross for her and she wanted to get right with Him and follow Him. She said she told God she wasn't sure what to say but she wanted to thank Jesus for dying for her and saving her. She asked God if He would give her a sign that He heard her and she was 'doing it right' and she was going to Heaven.
Now here comes the amazing part!!
As soon as she said those words my daughter hears this on the radio:
"My father said,
"Don't you worry, don't you worry, child.
See heaven's got a plan for you.
Don't you worry, don't you worry now."
Yeah!"
My daughter was absolutely floored! She couldn't believe it!
She was so excited and happy and I am beyond thrilled and so thankful to our Heavenly Father for doing that for her.
Isn't that way cool?!!
I thank you, Heavenly Father, for answering my prayers about my daughter. I am rejoicing along with the angels in Heaven right now because my child who I have been praying for all of these years is now a Child of God and Heaven bound!
Amen!!
