It's exactly two years this week since I found my sweet Angel, and there's still not a day I don't cry over him and can't wait to see him again in heaven. I love Autumn and Honeybun, but they're not loving like Angel is - no kisses from them! Well, God had a plan.... The day before Thanksgiving, I was raking leaves, when this sweet dog came up to me. She made herself right at home and oddly, even though my two girls don't like other dogs, they immediately all took to each other, with lots of mutual butt-sniffing. Remembering how devastated I was when Angel disappeared, I called Animal Control, thinking someone was missing her and was frantic. When they took her away I felt like something was being torn out of me, and couldn't stop thinking about this sweet baby all weekend. Well, no one claimed her, and as of Tuesday she was available for adoption. (She apparently had puppies not too long ago, and they had her spayed on Monday.) I knew she was supposed to be mine - and I knew her name is Angelica. When I went to pick her up it was clear that she remembered me, and gave me a big smile. As I was filling out paperwork she kept trying to pull me to the door. When we got to the car Angelica hopped right in, and immediately began covering me with doggy kisses. God is good!

Angelica is a coon hound, but she might have some beagle in her - she has those huge floppy ears! She scared the heck out of me yesterday. I had to do some grocery shopping, and she hopped right in the car, as the other two do. I attach a leash to her whenever we leave the house, because she doesn't know to come to me when called yet, and I figure it gives me more control over her. Well, we got to the parking lot and in a flash she jumped over me and out of the car, and took off running...with a busy street on either side of us; I was terrified she'd get hit by a car. I chased after her, and when I asked several men if they saw a dog run by, they all said, "Oh, the one dragging a leash?" Duh! None of them had the sense to grab her leash and stop her; finally an older woman did. I scolded her when we got back to the car, and the poor thing was trembling in fear; I suspect that sweet girl was abused in her prior home. She's so sweet and loving; I can't imagine why anyone would just dump such a precious baby. Well, she has her forever and ever home now!
