mufasa returns home after long journey
Mufasa the cat has what you might call a wild side. This cat is a decade old and has probably come very close to using all nine of his cat lives. He was recently attacked by a rattlesnake, he managed to get in front of a high pressure water hose, and he’s recently gone on a 90-mile journey, hitchhiking at that, away from his home. His mother did not even know he was missing, at first. She saw the darling animal on Friday morning, and then did not see him again for four days. It took her most of the day to realize he was missing, and that’s when she began looking for him herself, checking the internet for rescues and looking in local shelters. She had no idea he’d been almost 100 miles on his journey.
The cat managed to find his way to a gas station known for hosting a number of semi-trucks about 6 miles from his home. Once he was there, Mufasa climbed into the bed of one of the trucks and began his journey down I-90. The driver had no idea that there was a cat in his truck until he was pulled over. Another driver noticed that the cat was in the back of the truck’s trailer and that it looked as if it was struggling to stay put. He called 911 and immediately reported his findings so that a state trooper would be able to pull the truck over and save the cat.
The driver had no idea there was a cat in the back of his truck, though he’s thankful it’s all right. The officer took the cat to several shelters and found them all full before he was finally able to find one. Once there, shelter employees posted the cat’s story on their sites and were ecstatic when Mufasa’s mother called to say the cat belonged to her. And knowing that her cat is a rebel, she offered a large donation to the facility for loving and caring for her cat in her absence.
