The 4th Annual Wiener Dog Races Take Place in Lexington This Weekend
Dogs steal the show in the Horse Capital of the World this Saturday. By Perri Ormont Blumberg August 16, 2019 Kentucky friends, if you find yourself in the Lexington area this Saturday, August 17th be sure to stop by Red Mile, the second oldest harness track in the world, for the 4th Annual Wiener Dog Races. In addition to the flagship wiener race, there will also be a "Running of the Bulldogs" and "All-Breed 'Rescue' Run." The canine winner will take home a wiener-and-dog-bone trophy to mark their triumph. But even better than the glory of victory is the knowledge that 100% of the proceeds from the day's events will go to the Lexington Humane Society, which cares for more than 5,000 animals. Admission to the event is free, and there is a $20 registration fee for those who wish to register their dogs in the race (with all of those funds benefiting the Lexington Humane Society). For more information, visit RedMileKY.com. Come tomorrow, we can't wait to see all the four-legged runners ace this course. A Florida Teen Made Her Wiener Dog A Matching Prom Dress It’s not unusual for a teen to bring their best friend to prom, but most of the time those friends don’t have four legs, a tail, and a love of kibble. Pups, don't forget to carbo-load before your big day. Pictures at link - cute, but it won't let me cut & paste.
