President Trump Calls ‘National Day of Prayer’ for Sunday
BY NEWS DIVISION · MARCH 13, 2020
In the wake of the coronavirus outbreak in the United States and with a solid-week of policy-making and executive decisions behind him, President Donald J. Trump has called for a National Day of Prayer this Sunday.
In a Facebook post roughly an hour ago, President Trump said, “It is my great honor to declare Sunday, March 15th as a National Day of Prayer. We are a Country that, throughout our history, has looked to God for protection and strength in times like these. No matter where you may be, I encourage you to turn towards prayer in an act of faith. Together, we will easily PREVAIL!” (see below).
Trump and Vice President Pence have been resoundingly mocked for calling for prayer in previous day by America’s leftists who apparently don’t pray (or if they do, we don’t know to whom).
Pence prayed with his coronavirus taskforce (below) on February 6 and was made fun of by Hement Mehta of The Friendly Atheist, which as it turns out, isn’t that friendly. The atheist said…
“What else did anyone expect? Science? Reason? Something sensible? Of course not. If this virus truly becomes a pandemic, we’re at the mercy of people delusional enough to think their pleas to God will fix the problem. The same God who presumably created the virus, at least in their minds, will somehow make sure it hurts only a handful of Americans…
Some will no doubt deride POTUS for this declaration, but as millions of Americans gather in prayer inside their churches – and increasingly in their homes while watching sermon live-streams – President Trump and Vice President Pence will no doubt be busy making decisions to protect America at their typical frenzied pace. Let us all lift them up in prayer this Lord’s Day.
