and in other (somewhat related) news: Supreme Court Rules that many lies are protected by First Amendment (Friday Church News Notes, July 13, 2012, - In a 6-3 ruling, the deluded majority of the U.S. Supreme Court overturned a federal law that made it a crime to lie about being a military hero. In his opinion, Justice Anthony Kennedy said that many lies are protected by the First Amendment and excused a California man who falsely claimed he had won the Medal of Honor, saying that “lying was his habit” (“Supreme Court Kills Law,” Sacramental Bee, June 30, 2012). The majority opinion said that the law punishing the lies was more damaging than the lies themselves. In a dissenting opinion, Samuel Alito observed that law was “enacted to stem an epidemic of false claims about military decorations” that “were undermining our country’s system of military honors and inflicting real harm on actual medal recipients and their families.” The Court’s job is to rule on the constitutionality of laws. Period. And there is nothing in the U.S. Constitution to forbid a law against lying. This is a revisionist ruling based on the “new morality,” but God’s view of lying is different than that of the U.S. Supreme Court. “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death” (Rev. 21:8). ~So in other words, ANYONE (including the government/the President of the United Soviet State of Amerika) can lie to the public all it wants to and get away with it BECAUSE they say they are now protected by the First Admendment. Gee how convenient is that?!
