Steve Mitchell is the pastor of Fellowship Bible Chapel, which is John Haller's church. He has a serious case of "real" Covid (not just a symptom on top of an underlying serious health condition), and is in the hospital on a ventilator. Please keep him and his family in prayer. From what I gather he's in very bad shape - John is really emotional over it. Thanks.

From Mark Mitchell (Steve's brother) - Monday evening, 9/21/20:
We have our Dr. update for the day. There has not been much progress. Earlier when we got news that he may not make it through the night he had actually had 3 heart failures and resuscitations. This caused his heart to stop beating for over 50 minutes in total. It is unknown the extent but suspected this could of caused some neurological damage and has also caused damage to his other organs. He is too sick to find out the extent of neurological damage at the moment. His heart and other organs have sustained damage and kidneys are not improving either. The doctor gave him a 10% or less chance of surviving at this point. As you can imagine this is challenging and not the news we wanted to hear. Pray for our family and continued healing. He has been receiving good care and I am thankful for that. My brother is a man of God. The response of so many are a testimony to a life dedicated to serving God and others with true love and passion. Though I am still praying with intention of healing. For my brother, in life or death, God will be glorified - just watch.

Dr. update on Pastor Steve:
Wed., Sept. 23 @ 3:40pm:
Today there are still some things that take a little time to get answers. There are a few big things that need to improve or be revealed. He is still under sedation. They are weaning him off the paralysis medication. This could take days and possibly the weekend before he could wake up. Then we need to see if there is neurological damage and to what extent.
His lungs are still pretty stiff from inflammation and the damage to them is unknown as well. His Kidneys need to improve but have not reached the point that requires dialysis. If they continue to decline that is where it may be headed. His Liver is improving and his heart is staying stable with reduced medication which is really good news. So right now they are in the process of decreasing medications when they can and seeing how he responds.
So there are some improvements for which we rejoice. We are waiting to see the next steps. Thanks everyone for going along with us in the journey.
God Bless, Mark Mitchell

Please keep the family in prayer; even through Steve was saved, they're hurting.
Friday, 8/25/20
Update by Mark Mitchell:
2 Corinthians 5: 6-8
So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, 7 for we walk by faith, not by sight. 8 Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.
So this evening an amazing father, husband, son, brother, and best friend went home to be with the Lord tonight. Steve went peacefully and was surrounded with love. I will post more tomorrow and a little short for words at the moment. We are okay and we love and grieve with you all.

So sorry to hear that, but at least his family has the comfort of knowing he's with the Lord. Praying for their peace.
