OK, I admit it - I sometimes do read secular fiction, as an escape from reality and well, because it's fun!
As a long-time James Patterson fan, I hesitated to read this book, given the poor reviews on Amazon. When I had to go to the library for something else and saw it, I figured I'd give it a chance, since it wouldn't cost me anything.
First of all, this is NOT your typical Patterson story...it's far deeper. So many things in the book could have been taken from current newspapers: "Agents of 'Change'"... Hmmm...where have we heard about "change" before? And "Elites" who think they're better than everyone else, and want to rule the world? Implanting biochips into humans to enhance their abilities? A president who is hated by the citizens whom he's ruined? Do any of the people who panned this book read the news? I guess not - they're like the ones in the book who only care about their "toys" and are oblivious of what's going on around them.
I was amazed to see the many parallels between the story line and what's going on IRL. Excellent read, but only for those who are awake and aware and aren't looking for mindless entertainment.

It sounds interesting, I'll have to check it out! Thanks for the recommendation! I read his book Along Comes A Spider years ago...it was pretty good. Can't remember what it was about though... Stupid me...I started reading L. A. Marzulli's Nephilim book last night and couldn't put the darn thing down! I ended up reading FAR into the night even though I knew I had to get up early. I'm paying for it now though! < -----------

baydoll,
I remember when i read the Nephilim and the Pyramid of the Apocalypse by Patrick Heron. My dad had sent me a copy. It was when i lived in powell and i didn't have cable or internet(which was great for getting me to read stuff). I got the book on a tuesday night and read it late into the night....knowing that i didn't have to work the next day i stayed up until i was finished. Not a lot of books that can make me do that.

Yup I read that book in like two days it was that good. Patrick Heron's book did that to me too...I couldn't put it down.
Did you read the next book in that installment? The Unholy Deception: The Nephilim Return? I have it on order at Amazon.
