Tonight is the premier of the new series called Falling Skies. I usually do not watch much television but with it becoming more and more evident that Hollyweird is sending us subtle messages and innuendos through public media such as television, music and print it is time to keep our eyes wide open for what they are telling us. Last night my husband took me to see a movie called "Limitless". There was a huge amount of symbolism for those awake and what really got me to sit up in my chair was the characters in the movie that kept referring to Libya and the problems that were coming. Now keep in mind this movie was probably shot about 1-2 years ago. The movie was heavily focused on man's brain potential and the coming financial woes. Now with all that said. The series "v" was cancelled. The series "The Event" was cancelled. Now Falling Skies starts tonight. Could the previous 2 series got too close to the truth and this new one starting tonight which relates to falling comets and debris be another heads up? I don't know but get ready...

I don't have TV, so I'll have to see if it'll be online. This looks like an interesting show. Strictly from an entertainment point of view, of course... Edit: Possibly here: www.watchfallingskiesonlinenow.com/

You know Abe I have been waiting for this to start for weeks. I don't watch much if any TV. I wanted to see this because the ptb love to give us hints or messages of coming events. Can you believe I went to turn on my TV tonight and it is not available in my country ! Even when it is available it will be on a channel you have to pay. I was so darn disappointed. Oh well it's just another Hollyweird show. Funny thing is I found out while doing a search of how I could watch it that it was filmed in my city ! Now that's close for comfort ! Maybe that explains all the weird stuff going on downtown lately.. ;D

What network is it on? I don't subscribe to TV service; I have Hulu and a lot of shows can be viewed on the network's website.
The show logo is interesting - a(n Islamic) crescent moon? Or is it an eclipse?
I think it was Doc Marquis, a former Satanist and now Christian, who said "they" don't do anything without first notifying everyone in some way, no matter how obscure the means they use to do so.

POH I don't know what channel it is on in your country I think it is TBN. Here in my country it doesn't start until July 6th and then it will be on a pay per view channel. Oh well if I am supposed to see it I will. Oh and by the way the symbol is not a crescent moon it is the earth and the vibration of incoming planets/comets

Thanks; I found out it's on TNN in the US.
Since watching Mike Hoggard I look for all kinds of hidden meanings in logos!

Speilberg directed I believe, at least that's what I heard. I'm sure it was loaded with symbols. If anyone watches, let us know if it was any good.

It can be watched at the link above, but it will cut off at 72 minutes, requiring payment, or waiting an hour to continue.
In short, it's a gritty survival tale with a weak start. Most of the characters are superficial in their roles and character development is so obvious it breaks the 'story immersion' sometimes.
My geek side liked it. But nothing inspiring or unique has happened so far. I expect there will be slow reveals on the aliens and their agenda.
--- Warning some spoilers below, but I'll try to minimize that ---
The most intriguing character is the history professor/father. OTOH, he's pretty flat considering one of his sons is believed to have been killed, and he acts like it's just another day. Many of the characters do not behave as if they've just been through a major event, but more like they just survived a hurricane. Everyone seems to have just accepted the invasion.
It has one Christian character in it, but she's portrayed as a total ditz. Oh, and Catholic. I think there was a statue of Mary in there somewhere, too.
Definitely not for children, there's strong language and some serious racial and gender prejudice by a gang in the last 1/2 hour or so.
They skipped the whole arrival sequence typical of Sci-Fi movies these days. Which is good, and they hint at some major plot action later on.
The aliens are plain weird, spider legs with a humanoid upper body. Hints suggest an explanation later. The biped robots are much more interesting.
Some of the captured have bio-mechanical harnesses on their heads/necks, effectively enslaving them. Apparently removal is instant death.
-=-=-
I'm going to continue watching it when I get time, but I'm not going to go out of my way to catch it. Luckily, online I can watch it at my leisure...

72 minutes huh?
Your description of the spiders with human torso remind me of the centaurs from Fallout 3.
