Update! 5 of 17 Kidnapped Missionaries in Haiti have been Released
16 hours ago Staff Writer Three more of the missionaries kidnapped and being held ransom in Haiti under threat of death have been released, according to Christian Aid Ministries, whose people have been captured. They shared the good news on their website. “We are thankful to God that three more hostages were released last night. Those who were released are safe and seem to be in good spirits. As with the previous release, we are not able to provide the names of the people released, the circumstances of the release, or any other details. As announced on Friday, we would like to focus the next three days on praying and fasting for the hostages. Please continue to intercede for those who are still being held as well as those who have been released. We long for all the hostages to be reunited with their loved ones. Thank you for your prayer support.” With two people being released two weeks ago, this brings the total number of rescued to five. The group, which includes five children, was abducted after visiting an orphanage in Haiti. According to Children Aid Ministries (CAM), who sent them out and suffered the loss, “The ages of the adults being held captive range from 18 to 48. The ages of the children are 8 months, 3 years, 6 years, 13 years, and 15 years.’ The notorious 400 Mawozo gang is demanding a $1,000,000 ransom per person. Wilson Joseph, believed to be the leader of the gang, released a video that was uploaded on YouTube where he publicly vowed “I swear by thunder that if I don’t get what I’m asking for, I will put a bullet in the heads of these Americans.” CAM has not released any details surrounding the identities of the released, nor if they were released on account of the ransom being paid. link

This is a few weeks old, but I was wondering about the rest of the missionaries and found this: Remaining missionaries kidnapped in Haiti released by gang, says justice minister
By Natalie Gallón and Matt Rivers, CNN Updated 2:59 PM ET, Fri December 17, 2021 Seventeen missionaries representing Christian Aid Ministries (CAM), including 16 Americans and one Canadian, were kidnapped by armed men on October 16 while driving through the suburb of Croix des Bouquets, just outside of the capital city Port-au-Prince. The group had been returning from visiting an orphanage and were headed back to their home base. Two of the missionaries were released on November 21. Two weeks later, three more hostages were released followed by the remaining 12 on Thursday morning. A source in Haiti's security forces said the remaining hostages were released around 5 a.m. ET in the neighborhood of Morne Cabrit. According to the source, the missionaries were found by locals who dropped them off at a local police station, close to the territory controlled by the gang. Continued at link

Ransom was Paid in the Release of Captured Missionaries in Haiti After All.
13 hours ago Staff Writer Though it was initially believed that the 17 missionaries who were captured in Haiti all managed to escape or be released without having to pay the $17,000,000 bounty the kidnappers put on each of their heads to secure their release, new reports indicate this was not so, and that the ransom was in fact paid, but that there was disagreements over whether or not to release them, which resulted in the subsequent midnight escape. The group, which included five children, was abducted after visiting an orphanage in Haiti. According to Children Aid Ministries (CAM), who sent them out and suffered the loss. Missionary Ray Noecker, whose wife and five children were among the hostages, gave some details at a prayer vigil earlier in the week: “There had been a ransom agreement reached with the hostage-takers, and to my understanding that ransom was actually delivered the Sunday night that my wife and son and the other lady were released. The ransom agreement was for the entire group but there was some division within the gang so they were not able to release all of them at that time. “So that would be one of the reasons the gang would have told the group that were in captivity that they were being released because of the sores, the medical condition of my wife and the other lady. It is not known at this time who paid the ransom, and how much was paid in total. According to CBN: Continued at link

This is from a few months ago, but nobody updated the thread earlier. Final 12 missionaries kidnapped by Haitian gang released
By Ben Kesslen December 16, 2021 12:21pm Updated The remaining 12 missionaries who were kidnapped by a Haitian gang in October were released Thursday, Haitian police and the missionary group said. “We glorify God for answered prayer — the remaining 12 hostages are FREE!” Christian Aid Ministries said in a statement provided to the Associated Press. “Join us in praising God that all 17 of our loved ones are now safe.” The Haitian police confirmed the news to the AP, but did not provide further details. The 17 Christian missionaries who were kidnapped by the 400 Mawozo gang in Port-au-Prince on October 16 included 16 US citizens and one Canadian. Five of those kidnapped were children. The leader of the notorious gang, Wilson Joseph, threatened to kill the hostages, demanding $1 million for each, although it was unclear if that included the five children as well. The group was made up of Amish, Mennonite and other conservative Anabaptist communities, and their Haitian driver was also kidnapped. The last 12 missionaries spent two months as hostages in Haiti.
