Meet my Angel!

I had two Australian cattle dogs that I returned yesterday to the rescue place I got them from about 9 months ago; I had no familiarity with the breed, and to my dismay, they turned out to not be good pets - they're super hyperactive and need to be working dogs. They were very bored and unhappy here, and caused a great deal of damage to my home. As for me, they had me screaming and cussing at them all the time, and it was getting to where I'd almost have an anxiety attack when I had to go out and feed them, because I never knew what new destruction I'd find.
Funny, but I thought I'd be glad to see the last of them...but to my surprise found myself crying hysterically after I dropped them off. They're not bad dogs - they just weren't a good match for me - they should be on a farm. It didn't help any that they actually behaved on the long drive, and tried to run after me when I left them.
I've always been a cat person (I have a bunch!), but always wanted a companion dog - the kind that's a friend, who's obedient, and who's always by your side. I haven't had any luck at all with dogs, and after a few bad experiences, told the Lord I was giving up...maybe I'd have one in heaven.
So, I was driving down the highway, on my way home in the pouring rain, and crying, when all of a sudden a dog ran in front of my car! Some #*& had apparently dumped him on the highway, and without thinking I stopped the car and got out - I guess I figured I'd chase him off the road before he got creamed.
Well...the dog got in my car, so what could I do? I had a feeling this might be a "God thing," and figured I'd bring him home and give him a chance - if he didn't work out, I'd rehome him, and at least he wouldn't starve or become roadkill.
This dog - Angel - is unbelievable! He's sweet and affectionate, housebroken, and apparently well-trained. I let him in the house for a little while last night (something I wouldn't dare do with the destructive Lexie & Lilli!) - he was hesitant to come in - and he ended up spending the entire night next to my bed. He didn't make a sound, and didn't touch anything; I let him outside when I got up. Angel is totally undemanding, although sometimes he'll roll on his back, hoping, I think, that I'll scratch his belly. (I do.)
I can't believe that someone would get rid of such a precious dog, especially in such a cruel way! I think God put me there at the perfect moment to save Angel - or maybe have Angel save me; so far, it looks like he finally has his furever home.
As for Lilli and Lexie, please pray they get the perfect home, one where they'll be loved and cherished and have lots of room to run around, and SOON. Thanks.
