ADMIN EDIT: FALSE TEACHER ALERT!!!! Please read the last post in this thread for specifics.
Did anyone else sense this massive shift if you could even call it that...?
The following is from A YT Channel called thefigtreeminstry:
"It was huge, like an explosion of spiritual activity. I'm not sure if I saw an actual event or this was a spiritual event only. Its hard to tell, but it came with the threat of doom and death. Something awaits earth and very soon. And folks are still playing around with God beliving the narrative of you have more time. Let me be clear we do not have "more time".
The directive to this vision if I can call it a vision, felt like I was there. Sorry, this just happened and I'm still a bit rattled from it. The directive was clear after I felt this spiritual event that will manifest sooner rather than later.
After I saw it, I heard and felt, Fast & Pray / Fast & Pray / Fast & Pray -- this is a wrestling match in the spirit and no I dont understand all the dynamics -- October is coming in September most likely has a few meanings to it. It also communicates trouble.
This is a servant Elder sharing -- run into Fasting & Pray tomorrow -- "Sunday" --- felt like something is moving now. And the Ambassadors pray Maranatha Come Now Lord. Bring Rest & Bring Your "Sword" -- a sword against the wicked and those who hate God. The revival is coming and many of our loved ones are going to come home.
Pray for the Lord unleash his resurrection event and to bring his judgement against the wicked "Imprecatory Prayers" for him to unleash his Bible Prophecy Events now and not later. The Ambassadors agree with there king we are not praying against him, but agreeing wtih him. Few of us left to even do that -- most CINO have sold there souls to "pleasures', cares, and riches.Thats there choice -- but you focus hard --- we need a prayer wall and we need it now"

He doesn't say much of anything other than "did you sense it" over and over and over. If you look at his website there's no statement of faith, nothing that tells you what he and his church (whatever it is) believe, nothing that would give you a handle on what they're about, which raises all kinds of red flags. He seems to be big on dreams and visions, claiming to have had dreams about the rapture since he was a child; he also claims to have seen the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.
Christianity isn't about feelings; it's about Jesus who is the Word of God. I'd be very, very wary of this guy.

Dear PrsionerofHope,
When I first came across his channel, I also was very skeptical because as a rule I don't seek out dreams and visions and I am wary because most who report such things usually use them for clicks or profit. But for what it's worth - I can only give you my personal experience, which is that David, who runs the channel, is most defiantly a brother in Christ.
I would go one further to what you mentioned in your reply - be wary of everyone that you encounter especially if they claim to be a Christian. Unfortunately, in today's society there are many who are 'Christians in name only'. I agree with @prisionerofhope and I not telling anyone to accept the Figtree ministries at point blank. Each of should do our own research and actively use the discernment given to us by the Holy Spirit. Go as He leads you.
However, if you listen to the content that David puts out and his videos it becomes very clear as to who he is - he is very open. If you would like, I can attach some of the videos where he talks about who he is and the aim of his YT channel. But as a semi-long time subscriber this is what I will say about David: David is a ex bible college professor and teacher in the city of Ohio, US, who is extremely ill, suffering from multiple chronic conditions. As a result, he has had to step back from his teaching responsibilities in the last 5-10 years and now runs a small YT channel discussing topics of theology, doctrinal deceptions, bible classes and the occasional dream and vision when the Lord urges him to share. He is pre-trib, pre-millenial and hates the doctrine of OSAS. Thus, because of his stance of conditional security (which I agree with) it becomes pretty much impossible to slot him into one of our modern denominations. As part of his channel, we are big on United fasting and prayer where we all join in together - from multiple locations across the globe - to pray maranatha. We know the times and that the hour is late.
The reason I am willing to defend him, and his channel is that because before I came across it. I was not born-again nor was I ever told the need to be born-again or even what it means to repent of one's sins. David was the one person, who through his teachings, laid it straight to me. I grew up in a Baptist churches and was the definition of a carnal lukewarm 'Christian'. I thought no matter how much I sinned - I was safe/secure and going to heaven. I though a lifestyle of continual, unrepentant and habitual sin was okay. I was wrong. I was on my way to hell. I have since repented and I am now a new creature according to 2 Corinthians 2:15. I sin less, and I repent more. The Lord prunes me, and I bear good fruit (John 15).
I know that the video that I posted wasn't the best sample of the content that he produces - as he was flustered and obviously heavily disturbed. The fact that he was so flustered, was the reason why I posted it. It is uncharacteristic of him. Thus, I felt the urgency to share the message. Big things are coming. We need to seek the Lord now before things are get out of control. Esther didn't wait till Haman broke down her door - she gathered the community and together they made their petition known to the Lord. We need to the same - Philadelphia and the Bride need to say, 'come now dear Lord Jesus'. We should be groaning in the Spirit for His return.
You can give his YT channel a pass - and that's fine. But I think you would be missing out on a really good resource. If you find his teaching style unlikable that's fine too -it's your preference. I personally really like it because that's how I learn (through repetition).
I cannot recommend this channel enough. When I submit in prayer requests in the comment sections, people actually pray for me and my loved ones. And I do the same for others. I have been warned of doctrinal errors like dispensationalism (especially Pauline and Hyper dispensationalism); traps that I would have most defiantly fallen into if I didn't have a faithful Shepard telling where not to walk. Having the perspective of a bible teacher who has come out of Bible academia is really helpful. And above all, you will not find a watered-down gospel which justifies sin and grieves the Spirit of grace. Finally, this is not even mentioning that his channel is literally the reason why I came to the Lord (and no, I am not being hyperbolic when I say this).
I'm not attacking you PrisinorofHope just sharing with you my perspective and why I think you should listen to at least one of his teachings on an actual Bible topic. The Figtree ministries may not be everyone, but it's not meant to be.
Wishing you all the best, Lu

Not really getting your main argument - Arguing that dreams and visions are the same as 'feelings' would also mean that we have significant chucks of the Word of God comprised of feelings. Lol. What about Ezikiel? What about Jeramiah? Daniel? The entire book of Revelation?
Was Simeon led by his feelings? Was Anna led by her feelings? No, they were led by the Holy Spirit.
Taking the position that all these things are human carnal feelings is pretty extreme even more so, by suggesting the working of the Holy Spirit to be null in today's time.
A better argument would be that: It is a difficult thing to determine whether this man's statements are inspired by the Holy Spirit or by carnal desires. And an examination of his character, past statements and theology should be the best way to answer this. One must therefore "test the spirits" with this requiring time spent looking at his content and person. I do not think has been adequately done.

The fact that he hates the doctrine of eternal security alone is reason to avoid him. Salvation is by faith alone; our actions have nothing to do with it. Once you add requirements to "keep" your salvation, you're preaching a false gospel. When people come to know Christ as their Savior, they are brought into a relationship with God that guarantees their eternal security. Jude 24 declares, "To Him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before His glorious presence without fault and with great joy." God’s power is able to keep the believer from falling. It is up to Him, not us, to present us before His glorious presence. Our eternal security is a result of God keeping us, not us maintaining our own salvation. When someone is saved, they have ETERNAL life. As Romans 11:29 says, "the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable." John 10:28-29 says, "And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand." Do understand the meaning of the word "eternal?" It's endless, perpetual, never ending. It's ridiculous to claim that God would give someone eternal life, then take it away because they sinned! Sin in a believer doesn't result in loss of salvation; it results in loss of rewards.
The most frequent objection to the doctrine of eternal security is that it supposedly allows people to live any way that they want and still be saved. While this may be “technically” true, it is not true in reality. A person who has truly been redeemed by Jesus Christ will not live a life characterized by continuous, willful sin. We must draw a distinction between how a Christian should live and what a person must do in order to receive salvation.
Once someone is born, they can't be unborn, and their father doesn't disown them because they disobey him or do something wrong. Same with being born again. There are sins of commission and also of omission (which we may not even be aware of committing), and anyone who claims they don't sin is a liar. (1 John 1:10) As Charlie Garrett (who is a sound teacher) often says, "If you could lose your salvation, you would!"
Out of curiousity I started to listen to one of this guy's teachings on Revelation. He claims that only the church of Philadelphia was without reproof, and that's not true - Jesus was also pleased with the church at Smyrna and had nothing negative to say about it. That's a major error, and another reason to avoid this man, who is clearly a false teacher.
As for your allegation that dispensationalism is a false gospel, you're wrong again. A dispensation is a way of ordering things—an administration, a system, or a management. In theology, a dispensation is the divine administration of a period of time; each dispensation is a divinely appointed age. Dispensationalism is a theological system that recognizes these ages ordained by God to order the affairs of the world. Dispensationalism has two primary distinctives: 1) a consistently literal interpretation of Scripture, especially Bible prophecy, and 2) a view of the uniqueness of Israel as separate from the Church in God’s program. Classical dispensationalism identifies seven dispensations in God’s plan for humanity. Unfortunately, like all sound doctrines, dispensationalism has also been perverted as can be seen in the corrupt teachings of hyper-dispensationalism, ultra-dispensationalism, and post-Acts dispensationalism.
I fear for your soul; you're clearly following a false teacher and believing in a false gospel, one that adds to Jesus' finished work on the cross. When Jesus died for our sins, they were for ALL our sins - past, present, and future. All we need to do to be eternally secure is to put our trust in Him ALONE for our salvation. Thread is CLOSED. For anyone reading this, please avoid this FALSE teacher. There are plenty of good, sound teachers whom you can listen to in The Media Room forum.
