My dh is doing very well. We went to UVA yesterday for a touch base meenting with his transplant surgeon, they call it clinic. His blood tests are very good and he is as healthy as someone with no functioning kidneys can be. We are living our life as normal as possible with our bags packed ready to go when we get the call. Thank you for your prayers and interest. It gives me such peace to know that others are praying for us.

DH just had a 6 month CT scan and meeting with his transplant surgeon. Everything looks good, no problems, we just need a kidney. He feels so good we are so thankful for that blessing.
Thank you so much for always asking and lifting him up in prayer.

My DH had his kidney transplant in October of 2009. He was on dialysis for five years. You are wise to have your bags packed and ready to go. Also make sure that you have change with you for the vending machines. Our call came in the middle of the night. We had to stay in Denver for a week before we could come home. He is healthy and we pray and ask for prayers for the donor's. We've never met them. Please let us know how things go.

We got a call at 8:00 am yesterday about a kidney, they were going to have avaiailable. They had to run it through extensive tests, by 11:00 pm we were told the transplant team had rejected the kidney as not being viable. We had a very emotional day we were very dissapointed but also mindful of the fact someone lost a loved one and tried to donate their organs while in the midst of grief. We pray that Gods' will be done so we feel that this was not the best kidney for DH.

Praying for you both and your donors. In my DH case, it was a perfect match. We were stunned!!! His doctor's said he had the cadillac of all transplants. Thank you for keeping us updated.

Yesterday DH had his 6 month visit with the transplant team at UVA. He is doing well they were telling us that more people are donors but we are a society that is overweight with type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and more dependent on prescription medicines, so not as many viable organs , but with more donors they feel we are on the home stretch. Thank you for your prayers. Merry Chrlstmas everyone!

I can barely post, my DH died on 4-4-2014. He had the kidney transplant and then his heart failed. He had a horrible reaction to the anti rejection medication. I am so sad and overwhelmed and in need of prayers. Thanks for your understanding.
