Geoffrey Grider of Now the End Begins has been playing "Pin the Tail on the Antichrist" for a few years now. In addition to his being a devout member of the King James Only cult, some of his "theology" is questionable, to say the least - there's a pinned thread about it in the "Apostasy & False Teachers, Prophets, and Religions" forum. He also seems to have joined the Rapture Cult, i.e., those who equate being a watchman with trying to figure out exactly when the rapture will be, despite the fact that it's clear from the Bible that the timing of it is unknowable. To genuine Christians it's irrelevant who the Antichrist is, because we won't be here to see him; as for being a watchman, it's about warning people to get right with God, so they may be saved and welcomed into the Kingdom, be it through death or through the rapture that they meet Jesus.
Another issue with Grider is he's adamant in his beliefs, and is not open to correction even when he's proven wrong. For example, he did an article about Carl Sanders, who claims to be one of the inventors of the Mark of the Beast. I know Mr. Sanders - I met him many years ago, and even had him and his late wife to dinner at my home. At the time I was relatively new to the study of eschatology and believed his claims; he's an articulate and personable gentleman. Unfortuantely, a few years later it came out that Mr. Sanders' claims were false: he does not have the education he claimed to have, he did not hold any of the jobs he said he did, he did not meet with the high level government officals he boasted about talking to. I sent Grider a copy of an audio of Carl Sanders tearfully admitting he had lied about everything and saying he would repent, and another audio in which he haughtily recanted his repentance and said he would continue in his "ministry." Grider then accused me of being a liar and an "accuser of the brethren" despite the proof I provided. To contrast, when Brandon Holthaus featured the information from Carl Sanders in one of his prophecy update and I sent him the same information that I did to Grider, he immediately removed the video from YouTube and then posted an edited version in which all mention of Carl Sanders and his alleged work was retracted.
In short, Geoffrey Grider is not to be trusted. As time goes on, some of his assertions have become beyond bizarre, and he's leaning further and further towards being a card carrying member of the lunatic fringe. BEWARE!
