A 6.4-magnitude earthquake rocked the northwest coast of Honshu, Japan's largest island, the U.S. Geological Survey reported on its website on Saturday.
The quake struck at 13.24 local time (08:24 GMT) some 417 kilometers from Tokyo.
No damage or casualties or tsunami threats were reported.
