I was just watching this video and something addressed in the videos triggered a memory. During the 80's I spent 8 yrs in the Michigan National Guard. I spent 3 yrs as a Combat Medic in an Headquarters Headquarters Company Infantry Unit. This meant a Headquarters of Headquarters unit. Much high brass. The remaining 5 yrs I spent in an Evac Hosp. Unit. During the time that I was with the Hosptial Unit it's clasification was upgraded to an RDF status unit. That means Rapid Deployment Force. One of the sites we would train at was a secluded base in the lower part of the State. During the years I was in the Infantry unit and a few of the years I was in the Hosp unit we trained to deal with an Eastern European environment. Namely the style of homes and structures. Half way through my years in the Hosp Unit the base underwent remodeling. Part of the facility was constructed for new barracks. That wasn't surprising. What was surprising was that the rest of the base was divided into two sections. One section was for detention, the other new AMERICAN Ranch style home. We were being trained to infiltrate American homes and learn how to detain citizens. And the people behind this operation? We were told, FEMA. That was back in 1988. During the first Bush years.
