Well, a few preachers I've heard think that those who don't believe in the pre-trib rapture will get their wish and won't be taken. It'll be interesting to see if they're right.
Personally, I think that those who think Jesus is an abuser who will let His bride be beaten and bloodied and will rescue her just before she's about to be raped don't really know Him and His tender, sweet heart.
When I hear their arguments that we have to go through the Tribulation to be "purified" it makes me think of an evil, abusive BF I had when I first started dating and was too naive to know better than to put up with him.
We were driving down the Expressway when he stopped the car right in the middle and demanded I get out. I laughed, thinking he was joking....why, cars were whizzing past us on both sides, and I'd get creamed! But no...he was deathly serious. Over and over he ordered me to get out of the car. I was terrified, and eventually did - clinging as close to the car as I could, and hysterical with fear. Finally he said, "OK, you can get back in the car. I just wanted to see if you love me enough to cry for me."
I don't see any difference between him and the "Jesus" that the mid-tribbers and posties worship.
Your ex BF sounds insane/demonic. And you're right....this is definetly not something Jesus Christ would do to His Bride. He would not mistreat her in any way.

Yeah, he was demonic alright. Funny, but at times I'd start to pray for him, and the Holy Spirit would always stop me.
Just for the heck of it I recently put a tract in the mail to him - no name or return address, of course. At least his blood won't be on my hands, for never telling him the truth.
He is such a blessing! Thanks for posting this, POH.
