Add the vanilla and baking soda; mix in well, then add eggs until thoroughly incorporated.Put the pretzels in a zip-lock bag, seal carefully, and crush with rolling pin.Measure out two cups of crushed pretzels and mix into the dough. Add the flour in increments; mix well. Stir in the chocolate chips by hand. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes, or until nicely browned. Let the cookies cook on the sheet for 2 minutes, then remove to a wire back to finish cooling. Makes about 5 dozen chewy, fairly soft cookies that travel well.
