An artist has found a way to get around those skyrocketing rents in Brooklyn.
Gregory Kloehn has build a so-called "dumpster home" in the Red Hook section of the borough. He purchased a new dumpster and retrofitted it to be his dwelling when he stays New York City, loading it with steel appliances, an outside shower, a barbecue, a toilet and a padded area where he can lie down.
Kloehn, who spends part of his time in California, has built a dumpster home in the San Francisco area too.
