Oh my goodness. He has put into words exactly what I've been feeling. Thanks baydoll!
There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all argument, and which cannot fail to keep man in everlasting ignorance. That principle is condemnation before investigation. ~ Edmund Spenser

JD mentioned something which he seemed apprehensive to do. He mentioned the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. I don't know any scripture that teaches this but does anyone have any ideas? I've always been taught and I studied that the Holy Spirit indwells us and equips us at the moment of we accept Christ. What are other's thoughts?
Good question! I think Pastor JD was alluding to Luke 11:13.
As for me, I've always thought once you are born again you automatically receive the gift of the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13–14) but the filling of the Holy Spirit is an on-going process in a Christians life.
Philippians 3:20-21 “But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.”
You do receive the Holy Spirit at the moment you are saved. I believe he is referring to the gifts of the Spirit. You can have the Holy Spirit without manifesting the gifts. Also, everyone has a different gift, so you might not speak in tongues if your gift is something different.
I've heard people say everyone has a prayer language, but if that's true, then my prayer language is English...

Okay now I understand. I too was a little uncertain with what Pastor JD was trying to say ..he didn't really seem to want to get that far into it.
You may not have the 'gift' of speaking in tongues , Shann0 but you do have the gift of being very well-spoken and articulate.
(edited because obviously my gift is not being articulate, lol!)

Thank you for the kind words. To God be the Glory!
