What all of these people forget is that God repopulated the world after the flood with only EIGHT people. Believing Jews will flee to Petra for the final 3.5 years, so even if only 8 of them get there (there will be many more than that), repopulating the world for the Millennium is not a problem.

Yes, I agree with you. They will be hidden from the face of the serpent.
Rev 12:14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

This isn't the first time MacArthur has let his preconceived conclusions drive his theology. He used to teach the full equality of all Persons of the Trinity, but then changed to adopt the "eternal sonship" view. www.fether.net/2010/05/08/macarthur-and-the-trinity/

Yes, I like your view. Has to be that way for this verse to be true.
1Ti 3:16
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Or Phil. 2:5-11, where Jesus set aside his privileges as God to become human and humble himself. If it had been Jesus' divinity that was humbled, it would make him a lesser God. MacArthur either isn't thinking through to the logical conclusions of what he's saying, or he's deliberately teaching a heresy that Athanasius debunked against Arius almost 2000 years ago.

There's not a single preacher out there with whom I agree 100%, but my gosh, this is just plain insanity! The Bible seems to be abundantly clear on the subject, and it's always better to err on the side of caution. I couldn't believe it when Jimmy DeYoung - whom I've studied under - said the same thing...and then Brannon Howse seemed to agree with him!

I know! It's one thing for these popular teachers to disagree over Eternal Security, Calvinism, or worship styles, but essentials of the faith?
In my years "in the trenches" online, I was very disturbed to encounter a growing army of people who didn't seem to know even the most basic tenets of the faith. Then I learned where they were getting such crazy ideas. And the crazier the ideas, the more popular was the source. Of course, when you dare to question popular teachers, you get the old "who do you think you are" routine.

Never mind the "who do you think you are," edge - I've had long-time friends cuts off all ties with me because I criticized their pet pulpit pimps!
People just want to have their ears tickled; they don't want to hear about "sin" (as evidenced by the Duck Dynasty fiasco). I posted an article about a WOF megachurch pastor who died of a drug overdose, and in the comments they were saying how he's "with the Lord". Or, for that matter, there's Paul Crouch....

Yeah, the druggie is with his lord, that's for sure. I've bit my tongue often on Facebook where people post glowing memorials to Crouch et al. Get the same attitude if I post something non-supportive of tithing or paid clergy.
