I commented that my Catholic friend does not know about the rapture, despite her Bible studies, and that it is not God's wish for us to pray to Mary, then I gave the scripture, "I am the Way, etc."
Well, this is what a person replied: Does anyone have any thoughts on this? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He leaves us Mary and the saints as "role models" the only ones who think that Mary is "worshiped are Protestants who are the only persons who "tell others what they believe." (When i wanted to know what my former Methodist wife believed I would ask her--not tell her what she believed which is sheer stupidity) It is arrogant for someone who has such little knowledge to even assume what God has ordained for mankind.,.i.e., God can do what He wants, not why you say He can do. The Rapture is an invention of John Darby and hi scullery maid...not heard of it before 1828 AD--1800 years after Christ (learn to google); and Jesus never spoke of any "Rapture>" Just another Protestant heresy (this is why your best friend is correct and you are not) There was NO Bible until 325 AD (NT) and it was formulated at the Council of Nicea where only Catholics attended (not protestant can be found who attended) The NT was not completed until April 8, 1592.

The Roman Catholic "Church" (aka "The Whore of Babylon") teaches a different Jesus and a different Gospel. Their "Jesus" is always portrayed as either a helpless infant in his mother's arms, hanging dead on the cross, or else he's a cracker. Their's is the same as any other "religion" - it's all works-based and according to the RCC, Jesus' death wasn't enough to pay for their sins - all it did was open the gates of heaven, and then penance and good works (both people's own and those of the Catholic "saints" - supposedly stored up in a "treasury of merit" because they had more than enough of their own good works to get to heaven) enable them to enter in after they've done enough.
The RCC has totally omitted the Second Commandment - that which forbids the making of idols - and split the tenth into two parts, so there would still be ten.
If one is Catholic, they can't say with assurance that they know for a fact they'll go to heaven when they did; the Whore calls that the "sin of presumption!" Can you believe it? The Bible stays we can KNOW - the Whore calls that a sin.
Basically, it comes down to this: There are only two religions in the world: ALL of the man-created organizations that tell you what you have to do to earn your way into heaven, and genuine Christianity, which says there's nothing you can do - because Jesus paid it all.

Puppy is right - in the Catholic church it's all about Mary and praying to dead people - most of whom probably aren't even in heaven! Unlike Christianity where all born again believers are saints, in the RCC one doesn't become a saint unless they go through a complicated process of canonization, during which the dead person supposedly has to perform a couple of "miracles." It used to be two, but I think Benny reduced it to one.
There are many, many titles for Mary (several hundred, in fact, including "Queen of Heaven," which Jeremiah specifically forbids worshiping), most of which are actually titles the Bible gives to Jesus. Jesus is secondary in the RCC; seems he can't do anything without Mommy Mary's permission!
The Catholics can't believe in a rapture, largely because of purgatory. Although confession removes the so-called "mortal sins" from their souls (the Bible makes no distinction), the "venial" - or less serious - sins have to be purged by fire, were the Catholic goes to pay the penalty for them after death - I think of it as "hell lite," and you get out after a few hundred - or maybe thousand - years; no one knows, not even the pope. It's a real cash cow for the "church," since when someone dies loved ones pay lots of money to have masses said for the deceased's soul, to lessen their time in the fictitious purgatory. You have to laugh when you see someone like a big Mafia boss or some other highly placed, reprobate sinner die, and they have a high funeral mass for him, and all his family and friends spend tens of thousands of dollars to have additional masses said "for his soul." Anyway, if Catholics adhered to the rapture, what would happen to the souls who are in purgatory at the time? And how could people be taken to heaven without having their sins "purged?"
Many who believe in the rapture attribute it's "creation" to Darby, or to a young girl (her name eludes me at the moment), but it's clearly described in the Bible. For many years it wasn't taught about, but it seems that as we draw nearer and nearer to the rapture and the Lord's return, the Holy Spirit is moving upon men's hearts to teach about it.
There are lots of good resources in the Apostasy forum - look in the sub-forum where you'll see all kinds of good stuff.

I grew up Catholic - spent 12 years in Catholic schools, and even had an aunt who was a nun. Now I participate in several FB groups where Christians try to witness to Catholics, and those people are so inculcated with the lies of the Whore of Babylon that they HATE Biblical truth! We're called demons who are going to burn in hell, and I've even gotten PMs from "devout" Catholics that contain the most vile language you can imagine. Sadly, most of them are so brainwashed that they're convinced that the RCC is the "one true church" and won't even consider that they might be wrong. They make all kinds of excuses as to why they "venerate" Mary - they claim they don't "worship" her - just "venerate" her - but they're synonyms. What does this look like? Almost all prayers are to Mary, even though she's dead and can't hear them, and the Bible forbids necromancy (communicating with the dead). Their stupid rosary has ten "Hail Marys" for ever one "Our Father!" Jesus is almost an afterthought in Catholicism; He's always portrayed as either a helpless infant in his mother's arms (the origin of which is ancient Semiramis worship - the mother/child cult), as hanging dead on the cross, or else they think He's in their "Jesus cookie," which they display in something called a "monstrance." Note the resemblance to the sun; this is from ancient sun worship: Catholics kneel in front of this thing in what they call "Eucharistic Adoration" - they actually believe that the priest has the power to call Jesus down from heaven so He can be sacrificed in the Mass over and over again, and that the wine becomes Jesus' real blood, and the cookies are His real body. Sick! That's idolatry and cannibalism! They also believe a lot of weird nonsense, like Mary was conceived without original sin (easily disproven from the Bible), and of course, Mary is eternally a virgin - she and poor Joseph never had sex! The very suggestion that they did gets the Catholics' knickers in a twist, and when you show them the Scriptures that refer to - and even name - Jesus' brothers and mention that He had sisters, they insist that refers to cousins! It's a twisted, demonic religion that's leading billions to hell; I call it "Satan's Masterpiece." Berean is right - there are a lot of good resources in the Apostasy forum that expose the Whore of Babylon for what she is.
