West Palm Beach, Florida, police are going undercover as giant Easter bunnies. As morning commuter traffic slowed to a crawl earlier this week, motorists saw a bunny with a sign reading "Have a safe, hoppy holiday. Buckle up!" And through the large, netted eyes of the bunny costume's large head, the cop was watching them right back, making note of who had a seatbelt on and who didn't, so nearby officers could ticket them as part of the state's "Click it or ticket!" campaign. A similar program in Glendale, Calif. was shut down in 2010 for being "breathtakingly dangerous," but in Florida, it has been pretty successful so far: In just two hours, 50 motorists were cited.

I don't like this one bit. I'm all in favor of buckling up, but we shouldn't have a law telling ADULTS to buckle up. I'd be more concerned about children in cars. I don't know....it just bugs me.
I think it's because they were being so sneaky and conniving about it. If they were to ditch the bunny suit and just carry the sign I wouldn't have a problem with it. Plus I don't think they really care about safety anyway...they're more after our $$$ than anything.
My son got a ticket in dc last month for $100.00 and he was only going 10 miles OVER the freaking limit!
For someone who is on a limited budget, this really hurts me financially. Now I'm that much further behind on everything.

My parents never paid any of my tickets. Well....i only got 2 tickets, both for speeding. I don't speed anymore though....i've been convicted on that one.
It's your son's ticket...why are YOU paying for it? He'll never learn anything that way!
Number One because it's in my name (it was caught on camera- a photo ticket) and Number Two he's broke (he's going to school full time so he doesn't have a job). I had to pay by the 27th or the fine will double.
Believe me POH, if my goofy son was working I would make him pay the stupid thing. AND he would be driving his own car instead of mine.
I'm having him 'work' it off though. Lot of yard work needs to be done, my car needs cleaning and the dogs need a bath... ;D

How about he get a part-time job....and be expected to contribute part of his earnings to his room & board?
Believe me he tried that. No one will hire him with his schedule. He goes to school Tuesday through Saturday 8:00 to 4:00 and we don't get home until after 7:00 (if we're lucky and don't run into traffic). His school is several blocks from where I work at so we both ride the same bus into town. He had two jobs as a waiter but they let him go because they needed him for more than two days.
I just have to hang in there...he has two more months to go then he will be done! He already has a job lined up and is planning on moving out with a friend of his. I can't wait!!! I can get my life back again!

If he is going to school, i can understand him not paying rent or anything like that. But he needs to be responsible for his actions.
Yup! I agree! And I've got a whole bunch of stuff lined up for him to do for me to pay off that ticket....
