A quick search on "Mark T. Barclay" will turn up more websites and articles proving he's just another false prophet than you can shake a stick at. For example:

The book also makes clear that the prosperity Gospel is a false Gospel. There are more warnings in the New Testament about the dangers of wealth to our spiritual well-being than there are warnings about sexual sin.
That quote isn’t meant to downplay the seriousness of sexual sin in the bible, but it just shows the gravity of the nature of the Prosperity Gospel and its destructiveness to the well being of the Christian.
It’s also hypocritical on Mark T. Barclay’s part to endorse such behaviors and never once obey the biblical data on the destructiveness of the Prosperity Gospel and its teachers, whom he is one of them!
Let us not forget who Barclay has preaching at his church namely Kenneth Copeland, Charles Capps, Jerry Savelle, Lester Sumrall and who are the fathers of his faith namely Hagin, Osteen, and others and let us also not forget that Barclay himself exemplifies these men with his own lifestyle with a ministry jet and asking for many ministry gifts.

What Barclay is preaching is an American myth and fiction and it’s false teaching according to the biblical data! My question to his followers is this, do you follow Holy Scripture or is Mark T. Barclay’s so called prophetic voice stronger?
One of the great tenants of the Protestant Reformation and yes you are part of that if you aren’t a Catholic is what is called Sola Scriptura in Latin and in english it’s Scripture Alone and what it basically means is that Scripture alone stands in all authority above the church and it’s teachers.
You as a believer and a church goer have the right to ask Barclay about his teaching and lifestyle which frankly isn’t sitting well with the bible and its standards in righteousness and holiness!
Ben Witherington further gives voice about Barclay’s lifestyle and says, “ It argues that Christians are called to live a simple lifestyle that doesn’t involve conspicuous consumption. Christians are not called merely to tithe; Christ calls upon his followers to give sacrificially, which raises the ante, so to speak.”
The bottom line is this, when Mark T. Barclay speaks about holiness and sin he can only speak to it on his own terms.

This is why we only hear from him about “right living” and “dirty living” instead of doctrine that reflects biblical data and church history. The main reason for this is that Mark T. Barclay not only endorses the sinfulness of the Prosperity Gospel but preaches and lives it.
The Prosperity Gospel is a false teaching and it is a parasite on the Body of Christ. For example, the Assembly of God churches in Australia like America stood strong against this false teaching before many of their churches were infected with this heresy.
Mark T. Barclay, repent from your mishandling of church history, condemnation of Protestantism, and your sinfulness in the prosperity gospel and your association with those who also preach it.

An assessment of Mark Barclay’s false prophecies“The Prophets of today are similar, considering they don’t hold the identical position. I flow in this anointing and gift…….” The Things You Need for the Day Ahead, by Mark T. Barclay.
Reverend Darryl Baker writes,
“I wanted to share with you this week an important prophecy that comes from a man of God, Dr. Mark T. Barclay, whom God has used as one of His prophets in revealing things to the body of Christ that we need to know about.”
He further writes, …”Without going into a lot of detail about true and false prophets, as that would require a complete teaching in itself, realize that a false prophet is one who speaks things that don’t come to pass.”
The Reverend continues in the same thought and proclaims, “There are five primary ways you can know a false prophet, but I can assure you Dr. Barclay’s track record stands for itself. So let me first share with you the prophecy and then explain the significance of why I believe it is so important.”
I should also note that the prophecy which he is referring to is from Mark T. Barclay’s own I Predict 2011.
So what can we learn from Reverend Darryl Baker?
1. These predictions in I Predict are prophecies.
2. Mark T. Barclay is considered a prophet and he reveals things to the body of Christ that we all need to know about.
3. Mark T. Barclay has a track record that can be looked at and tested and that this record stands for itself.
4. A false prophet is one who speaks things that don’t come to pass.
So with this information we shall proceed to assess Dr. Mark T. Barclay’s claim as a New Testament prophet. Mr. Darryl Baker assures us that Barclay’s record stands for itself and to evaluate Barclay’s track record we shall use Pastor Darryl Baker’s own criteria listed in number 4 to make our evaluation, which is, a false prophet is one who speaks things that don’t come to pass. But before we go forward in our evaluation we should get some advice from one of the leading New Testament scholars Gordon D. Fee of the Assemblies of God, Fee writes,
“The awe with many contemporary charismatic hold to prophecy and ‘prophets’ which in effect causes them to almost to never be ‘tested,’ stands in basic contradiction to this Pauline injunction (1Thes 5:19-22).” Gordon D. Fee, God’s Empowering Presence, The Holy Spirit in the Letters of Paul Page 62.”
And beyond Pentecostalism, Anglican charismatic pastor Michael Harper also writes,
“Prophecies which tell other people what they are to do–are to be regarded with great suspicion.”
Again, Donald Bridge (British charismatic pastor):
“The illuminist constantly finds that “God tells him” to do things …Illuminists are often very sincere, very dedicated, and possessed of a commitment to obey God that shames more cautious Christians. Nevertheless they are treading a dangerous path. Their ancestors have trodden it before, and always with disastrous results in the long run. Inner feelings and special promptings are by their very nature subjective. The Bible provides our objective guide.”
So with that said, we shall test Mark T. Barclay’s prophecies as we are commanded to do in Holy Scripture and we will do so using Pastor Darryl Bakers criteria listed in number 4 and if these test show that Mark T. Barclay’s prophecies don’t come to pass then according to Rev. Baker, Mark T. Barclay is a false prophet.
Barclay’s own website bio says that he is proven, “a precise leader among other ministers worldwide….God has anointed him with a severely accurate prophetic ministry.”

So we shall see if this is true by examining again a few of Dr. Barclay’s prophecies. In doing so I want to first get the help from a new website that has compiled a list of Barclay’s prophecies and use which has been confirmed that from 2004 through 2009 that only one out of four or five have come true while the rest have never happen, or the opposite of the prophecy happened! This is quite astonishing! Here we have a minister Dr. Mark T. Barclay claiming to have such an anointing and claiming that these prophecies have come from the Lord Jesus himself, which never come true or the complete opposite happens.
I want to list a few of these false prophecies below from 2005 alone in which I will assess myself.
“…there will be great breakthroughs against the terrorist strong- holds, but it will take much longer to totally eliminate the threat. Weapons of mass destruction will be dealt with this year.” Mark T. Barclay prophecy, I Predict 2005.
This one is again laughable but its also destructive because it’s a pure false prophecy. Nothing like that historically ever happened and there were no credible weapons of mass destruction ever found in Iraq. There were absolutely none and the weapons of mass destruction that were found were very little and weren’t militarily operational. George Bush even said that this was an intelligence mistake, but it was touted as a reason to go to war. Bush went on further in his own memoir in 2010 writing that not finding Weapons of mass destruction was the biggest mistake of his presidency. Yet, Barclay prophesied differently!
“But Mr Bush admits that he was shocked when no weapons of mass destruction were found in Iraq. “No one was more shocked and angry than I was when we didn’t find the weapons,” he writes. “I had a sickening feeling every time I thought about it. I still do.” BBC
That BBC 2010 quote is from Bush himself from his own memoir.
The second Mark T. Barclay false prophecy is one that concerns the United State’s economy. Now if you don’t know, you now feel it, because this was a decisive year in the start of downturn of the American economy, especially the housing market and the U.S auto industry, but Dr. Mark T. Barclay prophesies differently.
“…the general economy in the United States will increase, therefore people will be less afraid for their future and will give more liberally. Our churches will be financially stronger this year.” Mark T. Barclay prophecy, I Predict 2005.
This prophecy never happened, but what happen was a sharp economic decline in the U.S in which the country has never got itself out of and the economic decline let to the worse recession in U.S history since the Great Depression. On top of this we watched the U.S dollar begin to decline in value. 2005 wasn’t an increase in the United States economy as Mark T. Barclay falsely prophesied, but it was the start of the economic crash of the United States. Mark T. Barclay couldn’t be more wrong here and he couldn’t be more specifically false than what happened here.
Reverend Darryl Baker writes,
“..a false prophet is one who speaks things that don’t come to pass.”
We can clearly see that what Barclay has prophesied in these two prophecies haven’t come to pass and that they are gross errors done in the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ. So in Reverend Darryl Baker’s own words Mark T. Barclay is a false prophet, because the historical data doesn’t lie, but Mark T. Barclay does. There were no credible WMD’s ever found in Iraq and the United States economy never increased and ever since has crashed. Mark T. Barclay’s prophecies have been shown not to come to pass, they are severely false. There is no way around it these are false prophecies.
