Like other ancient writings, Hebrew was originally a pictograph script, which letters representing and entire word.
The name of God (YHVH - יהוה) actually points to Jesus – if spelled by letters and read backwards (as Hebrew writing is) it reads: “Behold (Hey), the nail (Vav), behold (Hey), the hand (Yod)”.
