I have a friend who had shane willard visit his church. He has taken to him....and i don't know much about the guy. If anyone knows about him, i would greatly appreciate the input. I'm mostly just looking to figure out what he believes and teaches....what theological perspective he comes from....and to make sure he isn't apostate.

Did a search and find. found some sites for you to inspect. www.shanewillardministries.org/main/index.cfm?fxn=aboutAbout Shane Shane is from Charleston, SC (USA) where he began working in full-time ministry as a youth pastor of a small church. Since that time, Shane has held multiple pastoral positions at various sized churches. Shane now ministers full time in America and internationally, particularly in South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand. With degrees in both clinical psychology and theology, Shane is known for being an informative, brilliant and humorous communicator. Shane is mentored by a pastor with rabbinical training, and teaches the context of the Scriptures from a Hebraic perspective. This perspective helps people to see God's Word in a completely new way and leads them into a more intimate relationship with the Messiah, Jesus Christ. here is a blog talking about him: www.christianforums.com/t7394214-10/lots of books and dvd and mp3 for sale here: Blessed Financially 1 www.spiritlifedownloads.com/index.cfm?fxn=view&qu=shane%20willard

I just want you to know that Shane Willard is still on the preaching circuit, and he is to be avoided according to Romans 16:17-18. Shane Willard is a student of the Kabbalah and Jewish mysticism (he directly quotes it here: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwrVvRcPCTU). He doesn't actually know his Hebrew and conflates the law and gospel as though they are the same thing in the sense a person should attempt to keep parts of the Mosaic law while following Jesus. The Apostle Paul has a few things to say about those who try to do this. In the end I'm sure he is a nice guy, but he doesn't preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ as Solus Christus (Christ alone). I pray you are strengthened in our Lord Jesus Christ and that your faith is strengthened through Him, alone, which is where your attention should be. Kind regards,

Welcome, wakeupwatchman! I hadn't heard of him before seeing this thread, but from a cursory search it looks like he might be a Sabbatarian - he seems to put a lot of emphasis on keeping the Sabbath.
