Putin's latest battlefield humiliation: Ukraine thwarts Russian battalion's river-crossing and destroys at least 58 vehicles inflicting heavy casualties as Donbas offensive stalls and Kyiv's troops counter-attack
Russia was attempting to cross the Donets river at Bilohorivka to surround the city of Lysychansk, in Donbas But Ukrainian engineer claims to have successfully guessed where they would try to cross and laid a trap Sound of tugboats putting temporary bridge in place triggered a massive artillery and airstrike barrage Satellite images show bridge was destroyed along with dozens of Russian vehicles, inflicting heavy casualties By CHRIS PLEASANCE FOR MAILONLINE PUBLISHED: 03:20 EDT, 12 May 2022 | UPDATED: 21:02 EDT, 12 May 2022 Russia has suffered yet another battlefield humiliation after Ukraine successfully thwarted its attempt to cross a river in Donbas, destroying dozens of vehicles and inflicting heavy casualties. Satellite images lay bare the scale of the failure with the remains of two pontoon bridges drifting in the Donets River at Bilohorivka, west of the city of Lysychansk, surrounded by the ruins of tanks and armoured vehicles. It appears Russian commanders were attempting to surround Lysychansk - and its sister city of Severodonetsk - with the crossing, but saw their sneak-attack turn into a massacre when Ukraine correctly guessed their plans. 'Maxim', a Twitter user claiming to be a Ukrainian military engineer, says he identified the spot where Russia was most-likely to try crossing the river on May 7 and told his commanders to listen out for the sound of tugboat engines pushing a pontoon bridge into place as a sure sign that a crossing was imminent. On the morning of May 8 Russia blanketed the river with smoke by burning nearby fields and throwing smoke grenades, he said, but commanders detected the sound of boat engines and called in artillery strikes which caused devastating losses. It came as Ukraine's generals said Russia's offensive in the Donbass has largely stalled, with Putin's troops forced on to the defensive north of Kharkiv as counter-attacks push the invaders back across their own border. In a late-Wednesday update, Ukraine's commander said there had been no major attacks around Izyum - where the bulk of its Donbas force is located - or in Mykolaiv or Kryvyi Rih, hundreds of miles to the south, where it has been forced to reinforce its units after taking casualties. To the north of Kharkiv, commanders said 'occupying forces moved to the defence in order to slow down the pace of the offensive of our troops'. It means the only section of frontline that remains active is around Severodonetsk - where the bridge ambush took place - Donetsk and Mariupol, where Ukrainian defenders are still holding out. Russian soldier is the first to plead guilty to war crimes in Ukraine: Victim's wife looks on as sergeant, 21, admits shooting her 62-year-old husband in the head
Vadim Shishimarin today pleaded guilty to war crimes at a court in Ukraine 21-year-old admitted shooting Oleksandr Shelypov, 62, in the head in February Sergeant said he was told to shoot so Oleksandr wouldn't give away his location Wife Kateryna sat just behind Shishimarin as he confessed, at one point pressing her palms together in front of her face as if praying By CHRIS PLEASANCE FOR MAILONLINE PUBLISHED: 08:30 EDT, 18 May 2022 | UPDATED: 10:45 EDT, 18 May 2022 A Russian soldier has pleaded guilty to charges of war crimes after he became the first to go on trial in Ukraine over Putin's invasion. Sergeant Vadim Shishimarin, 21, answered 'yes' when asked by a judge in Kyiv today whether he was guilty of shooting 62-year-old Oleksandr Shelypov in the head in the village of Chupakhivka during the first week of the war. Kateryna Shelypova, Oleksandr's widow, sat over Shishimarin's right shoulder as he confessed to his crimes, for which he now faces life in prison. At one point during the proceedings she was pictured pressing her palms together in front of her face - as if paying. Shishimarin admitted shooting Oleksandr Shelypov as he pushed his bicycle along a road in the village of Chupakhivka, Sumy region, on February 28 Speaking before the trial, Kateryna revealed her husband once worked for the KGB and even guarded Soviet president Leonid Brezhnev when he visited Crimea. She said he was proud to serve the Russian elite but was ultimately shot by Russian soldiers because he pulled out his phone as Shishimarin and his comrades drove past in a stolen civilian car. Former French marine returns from Ukraine, says “war crimes” are being committed by Ukrainian troops who would “skin Jews or Blacks”
Thursday, May 19, 2022 by: JD Heyes Tags: Azov Battalion, bigots, chaos, conspiracy, deception, disinfo, evil, eyewitness, false-flag, French marine, insanity, Journalism, mainstream media, neo-nazis, propaganda, Racists, Russia, Torture, traitors, truth, Ukraine, War crimes, World War III This article may contain statements that reflect the opinion of the author (Natural News) A former French marine who went to fight on behalf of Ukraine following the invasion of Russian troops says that war crimes are definitely being committed there, but it’s not Russian forces who are guilty, it’s the Ukrainians. Not only that, but several Ukrainian soldiers he came in contact with are neo-Nazis and bigots who vowed to harm Jews if they could get away with it. The former marine, Adrien Bocquet, told Sud Radio, a French station, that he witnessed “a lot of war crimes” by Ukrainians but none by Russian troops, adding that because of that, he is extremely concerned as to why Europe and the United States are sending weapons to racist neo-Nazis and Jew-haters who are wearing Nazi symbols on their uniforms and even go so far as to brag about them. “I worked with them and gave them medicine. Do you know what they said? That they would skin Jews or blacks if they had the chance,” he told the station, noting that those remarks do not line up with the ‘mainstream’ media narrative of saving “democracy” and “our values” in Ukraine. “People can say whatever they want. I was there. I saw what happened there,” emphasized Bocquet, who says he has several dozen videos of war crimes. In one instance, he saw a barn full of Russian prisoners of war who were tied up and had been beaten. “Fighters from the Azov battalion asked them who the officers were. Each Russian soldier was shot in the knees with a Kalashnikov. I have videos that prove it, otherwise, I would not dare to say such a thing,” he said. Continued at link

Ongoing Surrender "On Far Bigger Scale Than Kyiv Has Acknowledged" At Azovstal
BY TYLER DURDEN THURSDAY, MAY 19, 2022 - 11:05 AM Russia's defense ministry has now revised the numbers of Ukrainian fighters to have emerged from the besieged Azovstal steel plant in Mariupol upward to more than 1,700 soldiers that have left the plant. A new Reuters headline has stressed that there's ongoing "silence from Kyiv" as the surrender is on a much larger than expected scale: Moscow said on Thursday that 1,730 Ukrainian fighters had surrendered in Mariupol over three days, including 771 in the past 24 hours, claiming a surrender on a far bigger scale than Kyiv has acknowledged since ordering its garrison to stand down. Statements from early in the week by Ukrainian officials, including President Zelensky, attempted to downplay this as "surrender" - avoiding the word altogether and instead stressing the end of the "combat mission" and that its Azov fighters were "evacuated". Russian-backed separatists in control of the area, Denis Pushilin, has recently said many of Azov's top commanders still remain inside the huge, cavernous steelworks facility. Reuters observes, "The ultimate outcome of Europe’s bloodiest battle for decades remained publicly unresolved, with no confirmation of the fate of the hundreds of Ukrainian troops who had held out in a vast steelworks at the end of a near three-month siege." "Ukraine, which says it aims to secure a prisoner swap, has declined to say how many were inside the plant or comment on the fate of the rest, since confirming that just over 250 had surrendered in the initial hours after it ordered them to yield," the report added. Russian Media Says Head Of Azov In Custody After 2,439 Total Fighters Surrender At Steel Plant
BY TYLER DURDEN SATURDAY, MAY 21, 2022 - 02:00 PM Late Friday Russia's Defense Ministry announced that the last Ukrainian fighters holed up in the giant Azovstal steelworks plant emerged, days after there were reports that top Azov commanders still holding out. The ministry said it counted 2,439 defenders had emerged and surrendered over the past few days. The final holdout group that was last to come out was tallied at 531. The Russian military's now total control over the sprawling plant and city of Mariupol is considered the be its greatest victory over three months of war. The final 500+ came out Friday, after Azov regiment commander Denys Prokopenko giving the order to stop defending the city. "The higher military command has given the order to save the lives of the soldiers of our garrison and to stop defending the city." Prokopenko had said in a video posted to Telegram. The Ukrainian side has presented it as an end to the "combat mission" while Moscow emphasized the Azov militants, who are neo-Nazi in ideology, were defeated and surrendered. Prokopenko those under him to preserve "life and health ... and stop defending the city." Russia announced that "The territory of the Azovstal metallurgical plant … has been completely liberated." Further, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu informed President Putin of the city's complete 'liberation'. Crucially, there are Russian and other international press reports saying that the head of Azov is now in Russian military custody: "The Russian Defense Ministry also confirmed the surrender of Denis Prokopenko, the commander of the so-called Azov battalion - a far-right military unit of neo-Nazi volunteers operating in Ukraine as a reserve force of the country's Armed Forces," according to the reports. Though there's been little in the way of confirmation, Russia's Channel One correspondent Irina Kuksenkova said that Azov leaders Denys Prokopenko, Sviatoslav Palamar and Serhiy "Volyna" (Ukrainian Marine commander) have now all surrendered. The Guardian wrote the following of at least one of these high-level commanders: Pro-Kremlin telegram channels also released a video with Sergei Volynsky, the commander of the 36th Marine Brigade unit, in which he said that his unit has surrendered. The unit was one of the main forces defending the steelworks. A number of Ukraine war observers have noted that there's yet to be visual proof or confirmation, including video, of Prokopenko's arrest by Russian forces. Additionally there's speculation he may still be in the plant, or seeking to escape past Russian lines. Continued at link

Mariupol’s Final Ukrainian Chapter, Russia Writes New book
By Larry Johnson Published May 21, 2022 at 7:15am The surrender of the last of the militant Azov “soldiers” who were hiding in the bowels of the Avostal Steel plant in Mariupol is the final curtain for NATO’s fantasy that Ukraine would beat the Russians. Almost 2,500 of the Azov battalion surrendered to the Russians and are now incarcerated in POW camps in Russia. Here’s the capitulation of the final group to give up: (Video at link below) There is a great video that provides you a timeline view of the progress of the Russian offensive in Mariupol: (Video at link below) Zelensky and his gang of thieves pushed the meme that Russia was attacking ruthlessly the civilian population of Mariupol. But that is another big lie. The Azov thugs placed their weapons and personnel in civilian neighborhoods and refused to let the civilians flee to safety. Russia could have flattened the city, turning it into a smoldering pile of rubble. They did not do that because they wanted to minimized civilian losses. But the Azov folks discovered to their chagrin that the human shield tactic did not work. They were pushed back into the steel plant and bombed into submission. What will happen to them? They will be interrogated. Some will be given the opportunity to flip and become agents of Russian intelligence. The Azov leaders and their followers who committed atrocities in the Donbass over the last 8 years will get the Hans Frank treatment. Hans Frank was the Gauleiter of Poland–i.e., the head of the General Government in Nazi-occupied Poland during the Second World War. The Nazi extermination camps–Auschwitz/Birkenau, Belzac, Chelmno, Majdanek, Sobibor and Treblinka–were under his control. He was captured by the Americans, tried and executed. He was one Nazi the United States could not forgive Video at link

President Zelensky said Russia's invasion has 'completely destroyed' Donbas He also accused Moscow of 'attempting to kill as many Ukrainians as possible' Video address comes as Ukraine claimed they destroyed Russian tanks in region Meanwhile, Putin top propagandist said Russia's offensive in Donbas had failed By KAYA TERRY FOR MAILONLINE PUBLISHED: 20:56 EDT, 19 May 2022 | UPDATED: 19:31 EDT, 20 May 2022 President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russian forces have 'completely destroyed' Ukraine's eastern Donbas region and accused Moscow of trying to 'increase pressure' with 'brutal' and 'senseless' bombardments. In his latest video address on Thursday night, the Ukrainian leader said the Kremlin had intensified its offensive following the withdrawal of its troops from Kharkiv, east of Kyiv - putting even more pressure on Donbas. Zelensky also repeated that Russia was carrying out genocide and said those who 'give and carry out criminal orders' would be brought to justice 'within the international tribunal'. Dead men walking: Chilling new footage shows Russian troops leading Ukrainians away to be executed in latest evidence of Bucha war crimes
New CCTV has revealed fresh evidence of Russian troops carrying out war crimes while occupying Bucha Footage shows two Russian soldiers marching nine men to a courtyard where eight of them were shot dead Men were Ukrainian defence volunteers who had surrendered, making them protected prisoners of war New York Times uncovered units Russian troops were from, paving the way for a war crimes prosecution WARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT By CHRIS PLEASANCE FOR MAILONLINE PUBLISHED: 07:14 EDT, 20 May 2022 | UPDATED: 08:06 EDT, 20 May 2022 This is the moment Russian troops marched a column of surrendered Ukrainian defence volunteers to a courtyard where eight of them were later found executed, in just the latest evidence of war crimes by Putin's troops. CCTV footage taken in the city of Bucha, on the outskirts of Kyiv, was handed to the New York Times showing the men in the custody of Russian paratroopers just moments before they were shot despite having surrendered. Almost a month later, after Putin's forces fled the area having failed to take the Ukrainian capital, the bodies of the men were photographed piled in the same courtyard - some of them with their hands bound behind their backs - in images which shocked and outraged the world. Under international law, executing surrendered soldiers is a war crime. The Times has identified the Russian units mostly likely to be responsible for the executions - the 104th and 234th Airborne Assault Regiments - opening up the possibility of prosecuting the soldiers and their commanders for the massacre. It comes amid calls by President Volodymyr Zelensky and his Western allies for Putin, his generals and armed forces to face the full force of the law over the invasion. Zelensky and a handful of other world leaders have gone so far as to call Russia's invasion an attempted 'genocide'. Full story at the link

'It's meaningless to hope for victory': Top Russian ex-spy turned influencer warns Putin's offensive in Eastern Ukraine is going 'very bad', troops will suffer 'huge losses' while their leadership leaves 'much to be desired'
Igor Girkin, an ex-FSB officer who led fighting in Donbas in 2014, has slammed Russia's current war in Ukraine Girkin, who goes by the name Strelkov, said it is 'meaningless to hope for victory' even if Russia takes Donbas Seizing the region will incur 'huge' Russian losses with bloodied troops left defending a huge frontline, he said Ukrainians - who are reinforcing with conscripts and rearming with Western weapons - will then go on the counter-attack, forcing Russian troops backwards and perhaps to their own borders, he added By CHRIS PLEASANCE FOR MAILONLINE PUBLISHED: 04:42 EDT, 20 May 2022 | UPDATED: 15:26 EDT, 20 May 2022 Russia has virtually no hope of winning its war in Ukraine even if it manages to seize the whole of Donbas in the coming weeks, a former spy and commander who was instrumental in starting the original conflict has said. Igor Girkin - who goes by the nom-de-guerre Igor Strelkov, meaning 'shooter' - has given a withering assessment of Putin's war effort, saying that Russian units are suffering 'huge losses' by 'banging their heads against' deeply entrenched Ukrainian troops, and are being led by commanders who 'leave much to be desired.' Despite Russia making piecemeal gains on the Donbas front in recent days - capturing towns around Popansa and pushing to encircle Severodonetsk - Strelkov says Ukraine is fast-mobilising new troops, rearming using Western weapons, and digging into new defensive positions that will be hard to overrun. It is 'meaningless to hope for victory' without a general mobilisation of Russia's army, Strelkov argues, which Putin refuses to do because he is being molly-coddled by his inner circle into believing victory is still possible. As long he remains shielded from reality 'nothing will change, and when it does change... it will be too late to do anything.' Once the Russian offensive grinds to a halt - something Strelkov predicts could happen as soon as mid-June - Ukraine will then switch to counter attacks as it did around Kyiv and Kharkiv, forcing Putin's commanders on to the back foot and likely pushing their badly-mauled units backwards - perhaps to their own borders. But even if no counter-attacks come, Russia will be faced with the prospect of trying to hold a long front line against well-armed and newly-reinforced Ukrainian defenders who will refuse to give up the fight, all the while Russia's economy will flatline under sanctions. Tide Turning? Boris Johnson Warns Russians Making ‘Palpable Progress’ in DonbasJACK MONTGOMERY 28 May 20223 2:27 Britain’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson has warned that Russian forces are now making “palpable progress” in eastern Ukraine, saying Ukrainian forces need long-range rocket launchers and other military hardware. Britain’s defence ministry said on Friday that Moscow’s troops have recently captured several villages as they attempt to surround Sievierodonetsk and Lysychansk in the eastern Donbas region, but do not yet have full control of the region. “By 27 May, Russian forces had likely captured most of the town of Lyman, in the north of Donetsk Oblast, in what is likely a preliminary operation for the next stage of Russia’s Donbas offensive,” the Ministry of Defence (MoD) noted in its regular defence intelligence update on Saturday, describing the territory as “strategically important” due to its proximity to river crossings and a major railway junction. Prime Minister Johnson, meanwhile, told news agency Bloomberg that Russian President Vladimir Putin “at great cost to himself and Russian military is continuing to chew through ground in Donbas, he’s continuing to make gradual, slow but I’m afraid palpable progress.” Ukrainian foreign minister Dmytro Kuleba appeared to lend credence to this prognosis on Thursday, warning that the situation in the east, where Russian-backed separatists have had a foothold in two self-declared “people’s republics” since 2014, “is as dire as people say.” Prime Minister Johnson added that it was “absolutely vital that we continue to support the Ukrainians militarily.” Johnson said long-range multiple-launch rocket systems, or MLRSs, “would enable them to defend themselves against this very brutal Russian artillery.” The British premier’s intervention follows Foreign Minister Kuleba having taken to social media to implore foreign supporters: “We need heavy weapons. The only position where Russia is better than us it’s the amount of heavy weapons they have. Without artillery, without multiple launch rocket systems we won´t be able to push them back.” Britain possesses some such systems, but Johnson did not actually confirm whether or not his government would send any to Ukraine. link

'World War Three has already started': Putin’s TV cheerleaders rant that UK and America will 'pay a heavy price' for interfering with Ukraine war as they threaten to demilitarise NATO
Russian One broadcaster Olga Skabeyeva effectively declared war on the West 'In a sense, the real war has started - World War Three,' the propagandist said She called for the demilitarisation of the entire NATO alliance during her show It comes days after another presenter said Russia will go as far as 'Stonehenge' Russia is making slow but steady gains in the east of Ukraine amid bitter fighting The city of Severodonetsk in Luhansk is now mostly under Russian control Former UN Humanitarian Affairs Chief Jan Egeland warned up to 12,000 civilians are trapped in the city with little to no access to food or water By DAVID AVERRE FOR MAILONLINE PUBLISHED: 05:06 EDT, 1 June 2022 | UPDATED: 07:46 EDT, 1 June 2022 Russian propagandists have claimed World War Three has already begun and warned that Britain and the US will be made to 'pay a heavy price' for interfering in the war with Ukraine. In her latest sabre-rattling broadcast, state television channel Russia One's Olga Skabeyeva effectively declared war on the UK, US and NATO and advocated for a fresh Russian military campaign extended beyond Ukraine's borders. 'Perhaps it's time to acknowledge that Russia's special operation in Ukraine has come to an end, in a sense that a real war has started: WWIII,' Skabeyeva said. 'We are forced to conduct the demilitarisation not only of Ukraine, but of the entire NATO alliance.' Her outrageous statement came on the 60 minutes programme, which sees several Russian analysts, commentators and 'political experts' gather to discuss President Vladimir Putin's 'special military operation' in Ukraine. Vladimir Avatkov, from the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then delivered his own warning to Western allies providing support to Kyiv. 'We need to remember the words of Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, who said that anyone who tries to interfere in the special military operation will pay a heavy price,' he said solemnly - but the threats quickly began to escalate even further. Russian MP Oleg Matveychev chimed in to declare that 'Poland's current borders will be worthless' if it were to intervene in Ukraine, before the warmongering Skabeyeva cut in: 'I wasn't talking just about Poland, but about Great Britain and the United States... they're all lined up!' The presenter's repeated calls for Russia to take on the West appeared too outlandish for Avatkov, who quietly reminded the panel: 'No need to rush, there is a line... everything will come in time.' But the outright call for war with NATO is just the latest in a string of bombastic Kremlin-controlled propaganda broadcasts designed to inspire patriotism in Russian citizens and turn the narrative against the West. UK Outraged After 2 British 'Mercenaries' Handed Death Sentences By Pro-Russian Donetsk Court
BY TYLER DURDEN THURSDAY, JUN 09, 2022 - 02:05 PM Initially reports suggested that a pair of captured British foreign fighters in Russian military custody faced 20 years in jail, but the final ruling in what Western observers have condemned as a "show trial" has ended up shockingly worse. On Thursday 28-year old Aiden Aslin and 48-year old Shaun Pinner have been sentenced to death by a court in the pro-Russian breakaway republic of Donetsk. The British nationals had been serving in the Ukrainian military, but were captured in April while fighting in now Russian-conquered Mariupol. They appeared in a Donetsk court this week on charges of "terrorism" and "being a mercenary". On Wednesday Russian state RIA Novosti aired footage of the men pleading "guilty" to the crimes, which critics say was coerced. A captured Moroccan national fighting for the Ukrainians, Saaudun Brahim, was also sentenced to death in the same proceedings. Aslin’s family has rejected the "mercenary" accusation given he was in the Ukrainian Marines. A family statement said he "is not, contrary to the Kremlin’s propaganda, a volunteer, a mercenary, or a spy." Further they said pro-Russian forces violated the Geneva conventions as they released a video of him "speaking under duress and having clearly suffered physical injuries." The Russian-owned news agency RIA Novosti said on Telegram: "The Supreme Court of the DPR passed the first sentence on mercenaries – the British Aiden Aslin and Sean Pinner and the Moroccan Saadun Brahim were sentenced to death, RIA Novosti correspondent reports from the courtroom." The Interfax news agency said the three men were tried for "mercenarism" and activities "aimed at seizing power and toppling the constitutional order" of Donetsk. —UK Express After their capture in April, both men appeared on Russian state TV pleading for UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson to negotiate their release. DPR authorities claimed they had committed "monstrous" crimes against the people. Pinner and Aiden during that prior appearance spoke at the prompting of an unidentified man in the footage, and requested that Johnson bring them home in exchange for pro-Russian politician Viktor Medvedchuk, who is being held by the Ukrainian side after Zelensky ordered the opposition leader's arrest. Thus this latest shock death sentence pronouncement may be intended as leverage and to put pressure on the UK government to see the proposed prisoner exchange through. Regardless, Johnson and British leaders are going to be outraged over the death penalty sentencing. An initial statement from London within hours of the verdict said the UK is "deeply concerned" over death sentences for British fighters in Ukraine. The UK intends to file protest, also given that the DPR court is not internationally recognized. A government statement said: "We are obviously deeply concerned by this. We have said continually that prisoners of war shouldn't be exploited for political purposes. You will know that under the Geneva Convention prisoners of war are entitled to combatant immunity and they should not be prosecuted for participation in hostilities. So we will continue to work with the Ukrainian authorities to try and secure the release of any British nationals who were serving in the Ukrainian armed forces and who are being held as prisoners of war.'" Western and Ukrainian media have slammed the "sham trial" of the men. link

Shipments of essential goods from Ukraine's Black Sea ports, such as wheat and seed oil, have been stopped since the onset of the Russia-Ukraine war. By BEN ZION GAD Published: JUNE 10, 2022 02:14 Updated: JUNE 10, 2022 02:27 Millions of people across the globe could starve to death as a result of the Russian blockade of Ukrainian Black Sea ports, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said during a televised address at TIME100 Gala 2022 in New York on Wednesday. Shipments of essential goods from Ukraine's Black Sea ports – such as wheat and seed oil, of which Ukraine is a major global supplier – have been stopped since the onset of the Russia-Ukraine war on February 24th. Over 20 million tons of grain are stuck in silos across Ukraine and cannot be exported amid the war. “We cannot export our wheat, corn, seed oil, and other goods, which used to play a stabilizing role in the global market,” as a result of Russia’s blockade of Ukraine’s Black Sea port, Zelensky stated. Ukraine's grain crisis Ukraine will only be able to export a maximum of 2 million tons of grains a month – just one-third of its usual 6 million tons of exports – if Russia refuses to lift its blockade of the country's Black Sea ports, Taras Vysotskyi, Ukraine's first deputy minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, said on Tuesday. “Meaning, unfortunately, that a real food crisis may occur in dozens of countries… millions of people may starve if the blockade continues,” Zelensky warned. Ukraine is the world's fourth-largest grain exporter – a crucial commodity that reached record-high prices in March and remains scarce in certain regions, as some nations have implemented export bans. While Ukraine's grain, oilseed and vegetable oil exports rose 80% in May 2022 as compared to April, volumes are still significantly less than the exports in May 2021, Ukraine’s agriculture ministry said on Tuesday. “The world is on the verge of a terrible food crisis… it is not just a price crisis,” declared Zelensky. link

ENDLESS LIES: Top Ukrainian official admits to lying about Russians raping Ukrainians in effort to obtain more weapons from West
Friday, June 10, 2022 by: Ethan Huff Tags: big government, chaos, CNN, conspiracy, deception, fake news, hoax, honest, insanity, Journalism, lies, Lyudmila Denisova, mainstream media, misinformation, news cartels, rape stories, Russia, smeared, traitors, Ukraine, Washington Post, World War III This article may contain statements that reflect the opinion of the author (Natural News) After being removed from her position for lying about Russian soldiers raping Ukrainians, former Ukrainian Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights Lyudmila Denisova finally fessed up to making up the fairy tale in an attempt to score more weapons from the West. In a vote of no confidence that was passed in a 234 to 9 vote, Denisova was pulled from the position and shamed for spreading misinformation that “only harmed Ukraine,” according to parliament member Pavlo Frolov. Denisova presented “numerous details of ‘unnatural sexual offenses’ and child sexual abuses in the occupied territories [that] were unsupported by evidence,” he added. In a later interview with a Ukrainian news outlet, Denisova admitted that she manufactured lies on purpose and that they were successful in convincing Italy, which is the example she used, to procure Ukraine more weapons to fight against Russia. “When, for example, I spoke in the Italian parliament at the Committee on International Affairs, I heard and saw such fatigue from Ukraine, you know? I talked about terrible things in order to somehow push them to make the decisions that Ukraine and the Ukrainian people need,” Denisova explained. Italy’s Five Star Movement, she went on to reveal, was originally “against the provision of weapons to us, but after my speech, one of the party leaders … said that they will support [Ukraine], including by the provision of weapons.” CNN and the Washington Post both spread Denisova’s lies (among many others) Even though it was easily verifiable that Denisova was pulling these rape stories out of her behind, fake news giants such as CNN and the Washington Post ran them, repeating them ad nauseum to their scant viewers. Brighteon.TV “The media was quick to put this woman’s BS claims out, but couldn’t care less about correcting the record,” wrote Chris Menahan from Information Liberation about the travesty that is Western “news.” Denisova’s lies are just a drop in the bucket, though, when it comes to the endless falsehoods being spread against Russia in the West’s desperate effort to rally public support for Ukraine, its deep state playground. We know that the Biden Crime Family has extensive dealings in Ukraine that are being upset by the Russian invasion, as do the Clintons and many other deep state villains. Consequently, Western propaganda has reached a fever pitch in trying to demonize Russia through any means possible, including manufacturing and spreading flat-out lies about Russian soldiers raping Ukrainians. Other lies that the media has spread about the ongoing war include radiation leaks at the Ukrainian nuclear plant that turned out to be fake; complete misinformation about what supposedly happened at Snake Island; the infamous “Ghost of Kiev” hoax; and “attack” on a Holocaust memorial that never occurred; and various other tales. In the comment section at Summit.news, one reader offered up a story about how powerful Western propaganda can be in swaying the minds of Americans to support whatever false war narrative the deep state wants them to believe. “I was talking to a guy yesterday with him saying how Russians weren’t being told the truth and all they had was Putin and government propaganda,” this person wrote. “I whipped my phone out and VPNd to St. Petersburg. I then looked up the BBC. Got the Russian service and showed him the news on the war. ‘Uhhhhhhh. Yeah but….”. For those kinds of people, this is also a “Yeah but….'” Another person joked that Denisova probably now has a job within the Biden regime based on her “proven qualifications.” link

'Hundreds' of Wagner mercenaries are killed in Ukrainian attack on ammo dump leaving 'only one survivor' - as 'at least 3,000 graves' are discovered near Russian-occupied Mariupol
Ukrainian artillery strike destroyed Wager base in Lunhansk region on Thursday Serhiy Haidai, the region's governor, said today that just one soldier survived Unofficial reports claim up to 300 soldiers were stationed at the base Comes as fresh video from Mariupol reveals thousands of newly-dug graves By CHRIS PLEASANCE FOR MAILONLINE PUBLISHED: 10:18 EDT, 10 June 2022 | UPDATED: 10:25 EDT, 10 June 2022 Hundreds of Russian Wager mercenaries are thought to have been killed after Ukrainian artillery blew up an ammo dump in the Donbas, leaving just one survivor. Serhiy Haidai, governor of Luhansk province, said today that Ukrainian forces had destroyed the base - located in a sports stadium in the town of Kadiivka - in a strike that took place Thursday. Unconfirmed reports suggested up to 300 mercenaries had been based in the complex - which was also described as a ammo dump - with Haidai adding that: 'According to our data, only one survived.' If confirmed, it would mark one of the single-largest losses of military life since the Moskva was sunk - though comes against the backdrop of up to 200 Ukrainian soldiers dying per day in Donbas, according to President Zelensky's adviser. Meanwhile, a French TV crew that got access to the Russian-occupied city of Mariupol visited one of the cemeteries where civilians are being buried and claimed to have discovered more than 3,000 freshly-dug graves there. Alexandra Dalsbaek, a producer for various French TV channels, said it was impossible to count the full number of new graves in the cemetery - but said the side she filmed on ran into the thousands. It came as the UK warned the city - which is only just starting to restore water supplies after they were cut off for months under Russian siege - is at risk of a cholera outbreak after sporadic cases were reported last month. Defence intelligence sources told the MoD: 'Ukraine suffered a major cholera outbreak in 1995, and has experienced minor outbreaks since, especially around the Azov Sea coast - which includes Mariupol. 'Medical services in Mariupol are likely already near collapse. A major cholera outbreak will exacerbate this further.' Conditions in the Donbas - where Mariupol is located - are rapidly deteriorating as fierce street-to-street fighting and heavy artillery barrages reduce the region to something resembling the battlefields of World War One. Mykhaylo Podolyak, a senior aide to President Zelensky, said up to 200 Ukrainian soldiers are now dying every day - equivalent to an entire battalion being wiped out every week, with even more than that wounded. Kyiv says Russia is suffering around the same number of deaths, though the true figure is unclear. There are thought to be thousands of Wagner mercenaries in Ukraine, operating at arms length from the Kremlin though ultimately thought to be at the beck and call of President Putin. To be honest, articles with pictures like these make me wonder what's really going on. Some say the entire "war" is being faked. It's almost impossible to tell what's real and what's not these days! Kyiv basks in freedom! Ukrainians flock to beaches and soak up the sun on the banks of the Dnieper in scenes that were unimaginable weeks ago when Russia launched assault on city
On Saturday Kyiv enjoyed 34 degree heat (That's about 94 degrees Farenheit) as the city's residents lounged on the sand of its Central Beach Just weeks ago, the city was under siege by Vladimir Putin's forces and missiles struck indiscriminately Back then, snow covered much of the city. Now, the summer weather has coincided with relative peace But a sense of anxiousness also lies over the city as men continue to be called to Ukraine's eastern front lines By CHRIS JEWERS FOR MAILONLINE and AFP PUBLISHED: 05:59 EDT, 12 June 2022 | UPDATED: 20:31 EDT, 12 June 2022e-mail Residents of Kyiv were out in their droves on Saturday to make the most of 34 degree temperatures, with hundreds enjoying the sunshine on the city's central beach - just weeks after Ukraine's capital came under siege from Russia's invading armies and rocket strikes levelled buildings and killed civilians. Pictures from the banks of the Dnieper river that courses through Kyiv showed people lounging in the sun, swimming in the water and playing games of volleyball, with the city's skyline seen across the river. Earlier this year, the same view of the city would have featured smoke rising above the skyline as Russian shells bombarded Kyiv and Ukrainian defenders fought to keep their would-be conquerors from reaching its centre. Back then, snow covered much of the city. Now, the summer weather has coincided with relative peace after Vladimir Putin's armies were pushed back from the capital and redeployed in eastern Ukraine. But there is also a sense of anxiousness as men from the capital continue to be called to the front lines - where as many as 100 Ukrainian soldiers are dying in fighting each day - and the threat of attack still looms large, with Kyiv being struck by Russian missiles as recently as last Sunday. Full story with pictures at the link - Read the comments; I'm not alone in my skepticism!

Putin's war of scorched Earth in Ukraine: The Russian army is deliberately targeting wheat fields with incendiary shells to torch harvest, claims Kyiv amid fears the war will cause global grain shortage and starvation
Footage appears to show Ukrainian grain fields hit by banned Russian bombs Kyiv forces put out fires in urgent effort to salvage harvest as food supply shrinks Britain's MoD said Russia now using inaccurate missiles with 'severe' civilian risk Putin running short of more precise modern weapons to use on Donbas region 'Kremlin is exporting suffering and starvation well beyond Ukraine': Sec. Blinken By ADAM SOLOMONS FOR MAILONLINE PUBLISHED: 07:08 EDT, 11 June 2022 | UPDATED: 10:19 EDT, 11 June 2022 Russian forces were today accused of targeting Ukraine's wheat fields with banned incendiary bombs as Putin seeks to starve the country. Footage appeared to show Ukrainian soldiers hosing down wheat crops in efforts to save the grain harvest. The nation faces mass food shortages and a Russian naval blockade preventing it from being able to export lucrative agricultural goods. Nicknamed 'the breadbasket of Europe', Ukraine has some of the continent's most fertile land - and supplies food to much of the Middle East and Africa. Incendiary bombs, outlawed by a UN treaty signed by Russia, Ukraine and 123 others, have been used repeatedly by Putin's forces since its invasion began on February 24. The Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons bans the use of specific types of weapons that are considered to cause unnecessary or unjustifiable suffering to combatants or to affect civilians indiscriminately. The bombs' flammable thermite content burns at 2,200C and ignites fires that are hard to put out. They produce the hottest burning man-made substance and can burn human flesh down to the bone. It came as US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken estimated there are 20million tonnes of grain sitting in locked silos outside Black Sea port Odesa. There is more waiting on stuck ships blocked from leaving the key strategic port. Mr Blinken said yesterday: 'President Putin is stopping food from being shipped and aggressively using his propaganda machine to deflect or distort responsibility, because he hopes it'll get the world to give in to him and end the sanctions. 'In other words, quite simply put, it's blackmail. 'The Kremlin needs to realise that it is exporting starvation and suffering well beyond Ukrainian quarters, with countries in Africa that are experiencing an outsized share of the pain.' The news came as the British Ministry of Defence accused Russia of depending on Cold War-era missiles with 'severe' risks to civilians. The ministry said the 1960s Kh-22 missiles 'are highly inaccurate and therefore can cause severe collateral damage and casualties'. Russia is likely using the anti-ship missiles because it is running short of more precise modern missiles, the ministry added. It gave no details of where exactly such missiles are have been deployed and there was no confirmation from Ukrainian authorities on the use of the 5.5-tonne missiles. Full story at the link

Ukrainian general threatens to destroy £2.7billion 'umbilical cord' bridge linking Russia to Crimea using long-range Western weapons
Major General Dmytro Marchenko threatened to destroy the 745ft Kerch bridge Russia has been using the bridge to deliver reinforcements to Ukraine's south If the bridge was destroyed, it would cut off Russian forces in the region Ukraine has urged its allies to rush more and better weapons to the country Western nations fear such weapons could lead to a larger European conflict By CHRIS JEWERS FOR MAILONLINE PUBLISHED: 11:04 EDT, 17 June 2022 | UPDATED: 12:01 EDT, 17 June 2022 A top Ukrainian general this week threatened to destroy a huge bridge that links Russia to the occupied Crimean peninsula using long-range Western weapons. Major General Dmytro Marchenko said on Wednesday night that Kyiv considered the 745-foot Kerch bridge a legitimate military target in his country's on-going war against Vladimir Putin's invading forces. Speaking to the the Krym.Realii website, the general - who has been leading Ukraine's defence of the Mykolaiv region in the south - described the £2.7billion bridge as an 'umbilical cord' supplying Russian reinforcements to the south. When asked what Ukraine's military planned to do with new advanced weapons that Kyiv is urging the West to deliver, he told the publication the bridge would 'be our number one target'. 'We have to tear this umbilical cord to cut off (Russian) reinforcements. As soon as it's done, (Moscow) will panic,' he said. Continued at the link

Ukraine 'strikes Russian Black Sea navy tug carrying weapons to Snake Island using Western-supplied anti-ship rockets' and downs helicopter as one of Moscow's SU-25 jets crashes near border in fresh blows to Putin
Videos released show Russian tug boat and helicopter struck by missiles Russian Navy tug reportedly delivering soldiers and weapons to Snake Island Russian attack helicopter was reportedly hit by MANPADS near Donetsk Su-25 plane crashed in a border region today during a 'training flight' The losses will come as a blow to Putin's grinding invasion of Ukraine By WALTER FINCH FOR MAILONLINE and REUTERS PUBLISHED: 04:30 EDT, 17 June 2022 | UPDATED: 08:58 EDT, 17 June 2022 Ukraine's armed forces say they have struck a Russian navy tugboat in the Black Sea with two Harpoon missiles - the first time Kyiv has claimed to have hit a Russian vessel with the Western-supplied anti-ship rockets. Ukraine's Armed Forces Strategic Communications Directorate published the information on the Telegram app, alongside a video purporting to show the strike from the air. It shows what is thought to be an anti-ship missile striking the tug Vasily Bekh at 4am as it delivered soldiers, weapons, and ammunition to hotly-contested Snake Island. Ukrainian sources later claimed ten sailors on the tug were missing presumed dead, and 23 wounded. The crew number was put at 33. Harpoon missiles are anti-ship ballistics that were first developed by the US and now manufactured by Boeing. The US has sent Harpoon missiles to Ukraine while the UK and Denmark have said they will consider sending the ballistics. It was not immediately clear where these ballistics had come from. It comes after Ukraine downed Moscow's Black Sea fleet flagship, the Moskva, last month with two R-360 Neptune anti-ship missiles in a sinking Russia initially claimed was caused by an ammunition explosion brought on by a storm. Kyiv claims that Russia has now lost than 33,000 troops since invading Ukraine in late February. Meanwhile, separate footage has emerged showing a Russian helicopter crashing down in a fireball near Donetsk. On top of those losses, a Russian Su-25 war plane crashed in a border region today during a 'training flight', with reports saying Russia denied it was shot down. The losses will come as a blow to Putin's grinding invasion of Ukraine, which is making incremental progress in the east of the country but at huge expense in lives and equipment.
