2 & 1/3 (280g) cups all-purpose flour
1 & 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
pinch fine sea salt (optional)
1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
1 cup (200g) firmly packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups (510g) semisweet chocolate chips
1 to 1 & 1/2 tablespoons fleur de sel (or other large-flake sea salt)
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 9″x 13″x 2" baking pan with butter or cooking spray.
Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and pinch of salt. Set aside.
Using an electric mixer, beat the butter until light and fluffy. Gradually add both sugars and mix until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla.
Reduce mixer speed to low. Gradually add the flour mixture, mixing just until combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
Spread the dough evenly into the prepared pan. Sprinkle the top of the dough with fleur de sel.
Bake 30-35 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden brown. Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before cutting into bars.
