British Chocolate Finger Biscuits
makes 3 dozen
Ingredients
2 cups cake flour
160 ml icing sugar (confectioner's sugar) 1/4 tsp salt
180 g soft butter
200 g Cadbury plain chocolate (or use chocolate chips) Little extra chocolate for drizzle
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°c.
Step 2
Cream the butter.
Step 3
Sift in the flour, icing sugar, and salt.
Mix the dry ingredients and butter until it forms a dough.
Step 4
Turn out the ball of dough onto a floured surface and roll out into a rectangle about a cm thick.
Square off the edges of your dough and cut finger-sized sticks out of the dough with a pizza cutter or knife. Place the fingers on a baking sheet and bake for about 10 mins on the middle rack, or until lightly brown.
Step 5
Cool the fingers and melt the chocolate in the microwave in a microwaveable bowl.
Step 6
Using a fork dip fingers into the chocolate. Allow chocolate to drip off excess chocolate off the finger.
Step 7
Place the fingers on a baking sheet lined with wax paper and leave chocolate to set. Once set drizzle top of finger biscuits with chocolate and leave to dry. Store in an air-tight container in the fridge.
