Hamas Fires Rockets at Tel Aviv Area from Rafah; Rocket Parts Found in Gaza SchoolJoel B. Pollak 26 May 2024 3:24 Hamas fired rockets at the Tel Aviv area on Sunday, marking the first time in four months that a barrage reached central Israel from Gaza, and emphasizing the importance of Israel’s fight against Hamas in its last stronghold. According to Cumta, an app that publishes warnings from Israel’s Red Alert system, the rockets targeted areas north and west of Tel Aviv, including Petah Tikva and Herzliya Pituach, one of the wealthiest communities in Israel. The Times of Israel noted that the Israel Defense Forces’ (IDF) predictions from last week had been fulfilled: “Last week, The Times of Israel reported that the IDF believes Hamas has the capability to launch rocket attacks on central Israel from the Rafah area, and when troops advance further into the city, the terror group is likely to carry out such an attack. There were no reports of injuries, though several rockets fell in open areas and one building was damaged. Separately, the IDF reported that it found rocket launchers in Rafah aimed at the humanitarian aid crossing point of Keren Shalom, which Hamas targeted late last month, as well as rocket components in a school in northern Gaza. The IDF said in a statement: IDF troops continue operational activity in the Jabaliya area. The troops conducted an intelligence-based, targeted raid on a weapons storage facility embedded inside a school where the troops located dozens of rocket parts and weapons. This is further evidence of the Hamas terrorist organization’s systematic exploitation of civilian infrastructure for its military activities. During targeted operations in the area of Rafah, terrorist operatives who attempted to attack IDF troops were eliminated. During scans in the area, IDF troops located tunnel shafts and large quantities of weapons, including AK-47s, RPGs, grenades, and explosives. In addition, two rocket launchers in the Rafah area that were aimed at Kerem Shalom were struck overnight. IDF troops also continued to operate in the central Gaza Strip and eliminated a number of terrorists in the area in the past day. Over the past day, the IAF struck and destroyed over 50 terror targets across the Gaza Strip, including military structures, weapons storage facilities, missile launchers, observation posts, terrorist cells, and additional terrorist infrastructure. The fight against Hamas in Rafah continues, despite a ruling Friday by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) that Israel should halt the operation and refrain from attacks that pose a risk to civilians.

Fires Started by Hezbollah Rockets Blaze Across Northern IsraelJoel B. Pollak 3 Jun 20246 2:56 Fires started by Hezbollah rockets and drones ignited and spread throughout northern Israel early this week, posing a new challenge for the Israeli military and leading to public demands for action against the Iranian terror group. The Times of Israel reported early Tuesday morning local time: Firefighters on early Tuesday battled blazes across northern Israel, as they continued to rage after being sparked the day before by rockets and drones that Hezbollah launched from Lebanon. Most were brought under control by the morning. The Israel Fire and Rescue Services said overnight that over 30 firefighting crews were working to extinguish the fires, which led to the closure of several major roads in the Galilee area. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued a statement Monday evening: Over the past few hours, the IDF has been conducting a situational assessment with Israel Fire and Rescue Services to allocate additional means, forces, and firefighting capabilities in order to extinguish the fires in northern Israel. At this stage, IDF reserve soldiers, engineer tools, mechanical equipment, fire trucks, and fire tanks were reinforced. An IDF Home Front Command’s fire battalion is currently operating at the scene and assisting fire and rescue forces. The forces gained control over the locations of fire, and at this stage, no human life is at risk. The Commanding Officer of the Northern Command is currently arriving at the Kiryat Shmona Fire Station. Six IDF reservist soldiers were lightly injured as a result of smoke inhalation and transferred to a hospital to receive medical treatment. Their families have been notified. Earlier in the war, Breitbart News observed fires started by Hezbollah rockets that had landed in open areas, including an avocado grove on a kibbutz near the Israel border with Lebanon that had been severely damaged. Some 60,000 Israelis have been evacuated from their homes since October, when Hezbollah began firing at them, leaving the border region of northern Israel essentially vacant. Opinion polls suggest strong support within Israel for a war to remove Hezbollah, should ongoing diplomatic efforts to move Hezbollah away from the border fail.

IDF Kills Hamas Terrorists in Container at UN School in GazaJOEL B. POLLAK 7 Jun 2024 3:38 The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Friday that it had eliminated Hamas terrorists in an airstrike on a shipping container located on the grounds of a United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) school in Gaza. In a statement, the IDF said: Earlier today (Friday), the Israeli Air Force with the direction of IDF intelligence and the ISA, targeted Hamas terrorists operating from a container inside the grounds of the ‘Asmaa’ UNRWA school in Shati, Gaza. The container was used as a Hamas Operations Cell and a meeting point for Hamas operatives. Hamas terrorists inside the Operations Cell who were planning imminent attacks were eliminated. Hamas terrorists carried out terror attacks from the U.N. school premises while using it as a shield for their terror activities. Prior to the strike, many steps were taken to mitigate civilian harm. The strike was carried out using precise munitions, leading to a precise strike on the terrorists. The Hamas terror organization systematically, intentionally and strategically places its infrastructure and operates from within civilian areas, in full violation of international law and while putting the lives of Gazan civilians at risk. In addition, the IDF identified eight additional terrorists whom it killed in an airstrike on a headquarters at a different UN school in Nuseirat on Thursday morning, bringing the total number of known terrorist casualties to 17. CNN and other international media outlets ran with Hamas claims that dozens of people were killed in what was described as a deliberate attack on a school, rather than a targeted attack on terrorists that minimized civilian casualties. link

IDF destroys 45 terror targets in Gaza over 24 hoursJNS GAZA WAR JUNE 13, 2024 GAZA HAMAS IDF - ISRAEL DEFENSE FORCE ISRAEL TERRORISM Among the targets hit were command centers, armed terrorist squads, rocket launchers, tunnel shafts, and other infrastructure, according to the Israel Defense Forces. Israeli fighter jets destroyed some 45 terrorist targets across the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours, the military said on Thursday. Among the targets struck were command centers, armed terrorist squads, rocket launchers, tunnel shafts and other infrastructure, according to the Israel Defense Forces. Ground troops continued to operate in the Rafah area in southern Gaza, conducting raids, locating weapons and eliminating several terrorists in close urban combat. IAF aircraft also attacked a site in the Rafah area from which rockets were primed to be fired at nearby Israeli communities. Earlier this week, forces operating in Rafah were ambushed by six armed terrorists who had exited a nearby building. The terrorists were eliminated by a military aircraft, after which troops raided the building, locating a tunnel shaft leading to an underground hideout and weapons stockpile. The IDF offensive is continuing amid international efforts to forge a ceasefire deal. On Wednesday, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken described Hamas’s official response to the latest proposal as unworkable. “A deal was on the table that was virtually identical to the proposal that Hamas made on May 6—a deal that the entire world is behind, a deal Israel has accepted. Hamas could have answered with a single word: ‘Yes,’” the secretary said. “Instead, Hamas waited nearly two weeks and then proposed more changes, a number of which go beyond positions that had previously taken and accepted,” added the top American diplomat, who was in Israel for a two-day visit earlier this week. link

Eight Israeli Soldiers Killed In One Of Single Deadliest Incidents Since Oct 7
BY TYLER DURDEN SUNDAY, JUN 16, 2024 - 03:45 PM The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Saturday suffered a mass casualty event in southern Gaza after a Hamas attack scored a direct hit on an armored vehicle which was carrying a group of soldiers. Eight Israeli solders were killed after the infantry transport vehicle was hit by an anti-tank missile, the IDF said, in what's being widely called one of the single deadliest single incidents involving Israeli soldier casualties since October 7. The military said it may have also been the result of an explosive device planted in the area. The IDF said the troops were engaged in an offensive against "terrorist infrastructure" shortly after 5am Sunday in the northwestern part of the Tal al-Sultan refugee camp, which lies just west of Rafah. They were part of the Combat Engineering Corps' 601st Battalion and all ranged in age from 19 to 23. "According to the information we have at this point one of the engineering vehicles in the convoy was involved in an explosion that was apparently caused by explosive devices planted in the area or as a result of anti-tank missile fire," IDF Spokesperson Daniel Hagari described in a press briefing. While the findings are still preliminary, military investigators believe there's a possibility that the explosion was so devastating because the anti-tank found ignited explosive material aboard the armored vehicle. "The current assessment is that the ‘Nemera’ armored vehicle got hit as a result of an explosion of a side bomb. In addition, on the vehicle there were engineering tools that include explosive materiel," the IDF statement said. "The explosion was significant and may have been caused by the ignition of the explosive materiel on the vehicle. All this is not supposed to happen and therefore the incident is being examined," Hagari continued. He further explained that the blast and fire was so expansive that it was difficult to identify and locate the bodies of those killed. "Today we received another painful reminder of the price of war and that brave warriors and heroes were willing to sacrifice their lives for the state of Israel, which is the common home of all of us: Druze, Jews, Bedouin, Muslims and Christians. All citizens of Israel, our hearts and thoughts are with the families at this difficult time," Hagari added, it what appeared wording geared toward pushing back against international criticism of a Jewish ethno-religious state. Al Jazeera has aired footage of the destroyed "Namer" Israeli personnel carrier being towed out of southern Gaza... Meanwhile, Hamas and its supporters appeared to positively celebrate the mass troops casualties. The group issued a statement saying "Our painful strikes against the enemy will continue everywhere they are present, and the occupying army will find nothing but death traps." Hamas' al Qassam Brigades confirmed it had "carried out a complex ambush against enemy vehicles" operating in Tal al-Sultan. According to its account, the attack started by successfully hitting a military bulldozer which caught fire. The initial rescue troops on the scene were then struck by the anti-tank missile. link

IDF has destroyed half of Hamas’s fighting forces in Rafah
Picture of JNS JNS GAZA WAR JUNE 17, 2024 The military expects full operational control of the southernmost Gaza city in two weeks. Around half of Hamas’s battalions in its last bastion of Rafah in southernmost Gaza have been dismantled during the current military operation there, the Israel Defense Forces said on Monday. Furthermore, soldiers from the Armored Corps’ 162nd Division have killed at least 550 terrorists and destroyed some 200 tunnel shafts since tanks first rolled into Rafah in early May, taking control of the border crossing with Sinai and the eastern section of the city, before expanding activities to other areas, eventually securing the entire Gaza border with Egypt, known as the Philadelphi Corridor. According to the IDF, many more terrorist operatives were killed in strikes on buildings and tunnels, while an unknown number of terrorists fled Rafah when the battle started. Out of the four Hamas battalions in Rafah before the IDF ground incursion into the Gaza Strip, two—Yabna (south) and east Rafah—have been almost completely dismantled, while the other two—Tel Sultan (west) and Shaboura (north)—have been moderately broken down as the army continues to fight in these two neighborhoods. Along the 8.7-mile Philadelphi Corridor, Israeli forces have located hundreds of rockets, including dozens of long-range rockets aimed at central Israel. The tunnels unearthed led to many underground routes, including at least 25 tunnels reaching the Egyptian border, some of which likely cross into Sinai and were used by Hamas to smuggle weapons. The IDF is further investigating these tunnels. Israeli forces have gained operational control of the NPK neighborhood after intense fighting there over the past week, both above and below ground. It contained the headquarters of Hamas’s Rafah Brigade. The 162nd “Steel Formation” Division, under the command of Brig. Gen. Itzik Cohen, has achieved operational control of 60-70% of Rafah, with full control expected in two weeks. Also on Monday, air-raid sirens sounded in Kibbutz Kerem Shalom, a community near the southern Gaza Strip. According to the IDF, more than a million noncombatants in the Rafah area fled the combat zone to Al-Muwasi, central Gaza and Khan Yunis. Twenty-two soldiers from the 162nd Division have been killed during the Rafah operation, including eight early on Saturday morning when their “Namer” armored personnel carrier was destroyed during an operation in Tel Sultan. link
