Israel Captures Hamas ‘Governor’s Mansion’, Intel HQ; Smashes Terror Infrastrutcure
JOEL B. POLLAK 14 Nov 2023 5:37 Soldiers from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) continue to destroy Hamas and its command infrastructure in the Gaza Strip, seizing the “governor’s mansion,” which includes the terrorist organization’s military and intelligence headquarters. In a widely shared image on social media, soldiers from the elite Golani Brigade posed with the Israeli and unit flags: The IDF issued a statement: In recent days, forces from both the 7th Brigade and the Golani Brigade conducted operations in Sheikh Ijlin and Rimal, securing control over government institutions that Hamas utilized for military purposes. Combined combat forces in the 7th Brigade secured the Hamas legislature and government building, the Hamas police headquarters and an engineering faculty used for weapons production and development. During the operation, the forces took control of the Gizat compound, which contains Hamas training facilities, an operational situation room, detention and interrogation facilities. Hamas weapons, as well as training and study materials were located in the facility. Furthermore, the Golani Brigade combined combat forces successfully secured the Governor’s Residence, identified as a facility used by the Hamas terror organization. This building housed both Hamas military and police offices and the organization’s military intelligence offices, headquarters, and various outposts. Some of these outposts were used by Hamas for training in preparation for the invasion into Israel on Saturday, October 7th. In addition, the IDF also took over Hamas bases in the Shati “refugee” camp and moved closer to its goal of eliminating the group: The forces of the 162nd Division are striking Hamas infrastructure and its operational capabilities. So far, the division forces have located more than 160 tunnel shafts and struck approximately 2,800 terrorist infrastructure. In the Gaza Strip, the 162nd Division secured strategic Hamas assets, including the Force 17 outpost, the Hamas security quarter, Rantisi Hospital used by Hamas for military activities and holding hostages, and the Bader outpost. The division forces have been actively operating in Shati camp, a central Hamas center in the Gaza Strip. Inside the camp are many Hamas infrastructure and battalions, including the Shati Battalion, which took a central part in the invasion and massacre of Saturday, October 7th. The 401st Brigade’s combined combat forces entered the Gaza Strip and led the rest of the forces from the northern Gaza Strip into the Shati Camp. The combined combat forces of the Givati Brigade and forces from the 401st Brigade struck numerous targets on the outskirts of Shati Camp from ground and air. Among them were central buildings and government institutions belonging to the terrorist organization Hamas, from which terrorist activity was directed against the citizens of Israel and our forces. The Nahal Brigade’s combined combat forces took control of the Shati outpost, destroyed terrorist infrastructure, eliminated terrorists and located 5 tunnel shafts. During the operation, the forces apprehended Hamas terrorists, who were transferred to Israeli territory for interrogation. Forces from the Commando Brigade operated in the north of Shati camp to locate Shati battalion operatives and to destroy Hamas infrastructure. The forces of the brigade secured buildings deep inside the camp and struck many enemy infrastructure. In addition, they operated to clear a school area where anti-tank missile launchers, a large amount of weaponry and terrorist infrastructure were found. Hours before the ground forces entered the Shati compound, the Air Force struck Hamas targets in the camp and the 215th Brigade opened fire in order to prepare the area for the operations of the ground forces. In the words of the commander of Division 162, Lt. Col. Itzik Cohen: “We have created conditions for dismantling the military and governmental capabilities of Hamas in Gaza City. Since the beginning of the war, the IDF forces and the 162nd Division forces have been dismantling Hamas’ centers and capabilities it had built over the years. From the beginning of the ground operation, the division forces eliminated over 1000 terrorists. The forces also significantly decreased missile launches towards the State of Israel from the northern Gaza Strip, reducing them by approximately 80 percent.” Israel had suffered fewer than 50 killed in action as of Tuesday, compared to thousands of Hamas terrorists. link

Israeli Forces Launch ‘Targeted’ Operation Against Hamas at Gaza’s Al Shifa Hospital
JOSHUA CAPLAN 14 Nov 2023 2:38 The Israel Defense Force (IDF) has launched a “targeted” operation against Hamas at Gaza City’s largest hospital, Al-Shifa, early Wednesday morning amid reports that the hospital and other medical centers are being utilized for terror operations and holding hostages. The IDF issued a statement regarding its raid of the Al-Shifa Hospital, assuring that its forces “have undergone specified training to prepare for this complex and sensitive environment, with the intent that no harm is caused to the civilians.” The statement added: “The operation was preceded by an effort to evacuate the hospital from the sick and homeless and even opened a special passageway from it. The hospital management was informed ahead of time about the (IDF) entrance to the complex… Incubators, medical equipment, and baby food are expected to be transferred to the hospital.” In an interview with CNN, IDF spokesman Lt. Col. (res.) Peter Lerner said its forces are “not overrunning” the hospital, explaining that soldiers are undertaking a “precise and targeted operation against a specific location… in order to defeat Hamas and perhaps rescue hostages.” “Our goal is to bring [the hostages] home. Our goal is to seek out Hamas wherever they are hiding,” Lerner said. Earlier Tuesday, President Joe Biden’s national security spokesperson, John Kirby, said the U.S. possessed intelligence that the hospital was being utilized to run terrorist activities and hold captives, which were taken during Hamas’s unprecedented attack on October 7th, which killed roughly 1,200 people. “We have information that confirms that Hamas is using that particular hospital for a command and control mode” Kirby said. “That is a war crime.” Meanwhile, Israel forces have pushed farther into Gaza, taking buildings belonging to the Hamas-led local government, including its Parliament building. On Monday, images appeared online purporting to show Israeli soldiers holding the Israeli flag inside the Parliament. Additionally, the Israeli military claims to have discovered an underground tunnel complex under what they characterize as a Hamas headquarters in Gaza. The Israeli military also seized the Rantisi hospital, publishing a video of IDF spokesperson Daniel Hagari, showing seized weapons and claiming hostages were held in the facility. link

IDF finds hostage photos on laptops at Shifa Hospital
NOVEMBER 17, 2023 Israeli forces found photos of hostages captured by Hamas on Oct. 7 during its ongoing operation in Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, the Israel Defense Forces said on Thursday. One laptop found at the hospital had as a wallpaper a publicly available image of Pvt. Ori Megidish from before she was taken to the Gaza Strip. Megidish was among as many as 240 people taken hostage by Hamas during the terrorist group’s cross-border invasion, which left at least 1,200 people dead and thousands wounded. The soldier was freed by IDF special forces late last month. Though other members of her unit were also taken hostage, Megidish is believed to have been held alone. The IDF added that its latest discovery proves a connection between Hamas activity in Shifa Hospital and the hostages, as well as “new findings” pointing towards a network of terror tunnels under the medical complex. It says it is investigating computers and other devices that were found in the Hamas base. Earlier on Thursday, IDF International Spokesperson Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus mistakenly told a BBC reporting team accompanying soldiers during their targeted raids inside the medical complex that photos and videos taken of some of the hostages after they were taken to Gaza were found on laptop computers. “We uncovered a lot of equipment that can shed light on the current situation, hopefully also regarding the hostages,” said Conricus. Dr. Muhammad Abu-Salamiyyah, director of Shifa, told Al Jazeera that “the IDF forces collected bodies from the hospital.” The IDF said on Thursday that the air force’s elite Shaldag commando unit and soldiers from the 36th Armored Division continue to operate in the Shifa Hospital complex, and that the operations are “focused” as special forces carefully move from building to building, scanning each floor. Patients and staff are still in the hospital as the soldiers operate with “discretion, patience and thoroughness,” said the IDF. “We operate with the understanding that there is much more terror infrastructure in the area of the complex that is well hidden.” No hospital staff or soldiers have been injured during the operation, according to the military. Troops entered Shifa overnight on Tuesday to conduct what the military said was a precision operation against Hamas, which is headquartered in a vast tunnel system underneath the Gaza Strip’s largest hospital. IDF troops have found weapons, military technology and intelligence information in the compound. An operational command center, weapons and technological assets were found in the hospital’s MRI building and the material is undergoing Israeli intelligence analysis, according to Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, the IDF spokesman. link

WaPo: ‘Tentative’ Deal for 5-Day Pause in Gaza, 50+ Hostages (No Soldiers, Men)
JOEL B. POLLAK 18 Nov 2023 3:03 The Washington Post reported Saturday night (in Israel, Sunday morning) that a tentative deal had been reached in which there would be a five-day pause in fighting in Gaza in exchange for the release of at least 50 female and child hostages by Hamas. No men would be released under the deal, and no male or female soldiers, according to the Post, which cited unnamed officials describing an agreement brokered by the U.S. and Qatar as intermediaries between Israel and the Hamas terror organization. The Post reported: Israel, the United States and Hamas have agreed to a tentative deal that would free dozens of women and children held hostage in Gaza, in exchange for a five-day pause in fighting. The release, which could begin within the next several days — barring last-minute hitches — could lead to the first sustained pause in conflict in Gaza, according to people familiar with its provisions. Under the terms of a detailed, six-page agreement, all parties to the conflict would freeze combat operations for at least five days while an initial 50 or more hostages are released in smaller batches every 24 hours. It was not immediately clear how many of the 239 people believed to be in captivity in Gaza would be released under the deal. Overhead surveillance would monitor movement on the ground to police the pause. Israel has declared that its mission is to destroy Hamas and to kill all of its leaders and terrorists, while at the same time doing everything possible, including negotiating indirectly with Hamas, to secure the release of nearly 240 hostages still in captivity. Thousands of protesters arrived in Jerusalem yesterday after marching, alongside many families of the hostages, for five days from Tel Aviv to demand a meeting with the government and to push for the release of the hostages. Though the demonstrators understand that Hamas, not the Israeli government, is responsible for the captivity of the hostages, they want to make sure the government is doing everything possible, and to know that they themselves are doing the utmost to free their loved ones. Only four hostages have been freed by Hamas thus far, all of whom were female. Israeli soldiers freed another female hostage, a fellow soldier. At least two bodies of hostages have been found near Shifa Hospital, where Israel is conducting extensive searches. link

IDF Hunts Hamas with Robots, “Weasels” and Attack Dogs in Tunnels under Al-Shifa Hospital to Rescue Hostages like Emily, Who Had Her 9th Birthday Yesterday
By Richard Abelson Nov. 19, 2023 8:45 am The Israeli Army has begun perhaps the most difficult phase of the eradication of Hamas, the tunnel warfare in the 300 miles of tunnels beneath Gaza. The IDF is employing drones, combat robots and attack dogs in its efforts to free the 240 hostages and smoke out the terrorists hiding them underground. Yesterday, Irish-Israeli hostage Emily Hand experienced her 9th birthday in the underground terror tunnels held by Hamas. Can you imagine what the poor girl and her family are going through? As the Israeli Army begins its attack on the Hamas nerve center hidden beneath al-Shifa Hospital and other civilian buildings it uses as shields, rescuing hostages like Emily has to be first priority. To achieve this, specialist units are employing modern technology and tunnel warfare skills in the rats’ nest of terror tunnels Hamas has built with Western funding since 2005, known as the “Gaza Metro”. Instead of just flooding the tunnel complex with salt water from the nearby Mediterranean, or using poison gas like Arab dictators do, the IDF looks to be preparing for grueling underground tunnel warfare, even worse than the urban combat the IDF has been facing in Gaza City, in order to save hostages like Emily. “Israel’s military has deployed a complex array of technologies to probe and attempt to destroy the underground complexes — and eventually the Hamas leadership — including around Al Shifa hospital,” Bloomberg reports. “From the air, surveillance drones seek to detect the hidden structures, while warplanes are equipped with bunker-buster bombs designed to penetrate hardened structures to reach deep below the ground. On the ground, bulldozers clear areas suspected to be above the subterranean network while attack dogs, unmanned vehicles and robots are used to help explore the underground terrain,” Bloomberg reports. President Donald Trump famously decorated Belgian Malinois “Conan the Dog” for helping track down ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in Berisha, Syria 2019, who was hiding like a little bitch behind two children in a tunnel when Conan found his sorry self. The Calif of the Islamic State killed himself and the children by detonating a suicide vest. Many Muslims are afraid of dogs, especially black dogs, because the Hadiths (Sayings of the Prophet Muhammed) call them “the devil among dogs,” ordering Muslims “to kill dogs.” Hopefully, Hamas commander Yahya Sinwar will soon suffer a similiar fate at the paws and jaws of a Belgian Malinois. Also in the military’s arsenal is a new weapon: a “sponge bomb,” a chemical grenade that doesn’t contain explosives but rapidly expands and solidifies foam to seal off entrances, Bloomberg reports. The IDF debunked claims by pro-Hamas media that Israel had ordered the evacuation of Shifa hospital, saying the evacuation came at the request of hospital officials: “This morning, we responded to the request of the Shifa Hospital management and opened a secure passage south for civilians in the hospital. We also brought in food and water into the hospital complex,” IDF Spokesperson Daniel Hagari said. Hagari said the four main objectives of the IDF as it operates at Shifa Hospital are gathering information on the hostages, locating weapons and command and control rooms, finding terrorists in the hospital complex, and making a significant effort to uncover the underground area underneath the hospital and to destroy it. “Even at this hour, special forces are operating in the shaft that we discovered last night at the Shifa hospital. We will distribute the visual documentation from there, in the near future,” said Hagari. IDF soldiers of the Paratroopers Brigade, together with the Armored Corps, Engineering Corps and the Israeli Air Force, have located approximately 35 tunnel shafts as well as a large number of weapons and eliminated terrorists in the Sheikh Ijlin and Rimal areas of Gaza, Arutz Sheva reports. Israeli Army spokesman Lt. Col. Richard Hecht posted the first footage from inside a Hamas terror tunnel under the Al-Shifa hospital, praising the professionalism of Air Force elite special forces team ‘Shaldag’ (Kingfisher). The brief clip showed an unground bunk used by terrorists, full of AK-47s and magazines. (At link below) Shaldag has been fighting Hamas since the barbaric October 7th terror massacre, and eliminated terrorists at the Al Be’eri kibbutz, where some of the most barbaric terrorist war crimes took place. Hecht noted following points about the tunnel infrastructure Hamas has been building with US and UN aid money for years: The complexity. This tunnel wasn’t built in a day, and it wasn’t built cheap. It’s got deep concrete foundations, lighting, electricity, and even a spiral staircase. The depth. I can’t share the exact depth with you, but any tunnel you need a drone to explore, well, that’s pretty substantial. The location. The tunnel is located in the Shifa hospital complex, near the Qatari section, and was hidden beneath a car, with weapons nearby. Specialists from the Oketz (Sting) K-9 units and Yahalom (Diamond) combat engineers have been training in tunnels for this purpose for years. The Samur (Weasel) unit of the Yahalom combat engineers specialize in breeching, entering, demining and destroying terror tunnels. The Hamas tunnels in Gaza are believed to extend up to 70 meters underground. After a tunnel is breeched, the IDF may deploy drones and IRIS „throwbots“, using specialized sensors to detect terrorists, hostages and materiel. The robots can identify and detonate booby traps, clearing the way for the Weasel engineers, who have been trained and desensitized to tunnel warfare conditions. They coordinate with other IDF Special Forces like Sayeret Matkal and Shayetet 13. The IDF’s engineering corps has formed tunnel reconnaissance units equipped with ground and aerial sensors, ground-penetrating radar and special drilling systems to locate the tunnels, Frontier India writes. Additionally, they have received special equipment to enable vision underground. Standard issue night vision goggles require some ambient light to function effectively. But, while moving through tunnels without natural light, the troops will rely on thermal technology to ‘see’ in complete darkness. Additionally, new radios designed for use in the extreme conditions below ground have been created. The ‘sponge bomb’ is designed to prevent soldiers from being ambushed as they advance into the tunnel network, effectively sealing off openings that Hamas could exploit for attacks, accroding to Frontier India. These specialised devices are enclosed in a plastic container and consist of two separate liquids divided by a metal partition. When this barrier is removed, the compounds mix as the soldier places the ‘bomb’, or throws it further ahead. Israeli soldiers have been observed using these devices during exercises in 2021, with a mock tunnel system set up at the Tze’elim army base in the Negev desert near the Gaza border. The ‘sponge bomb’, technically a liquid emulsion, poses risks during handling, however, and there have been cases of Israeli soldiers losing their vision due to mishandling the mixture. According to John Spencer, a former US major who leads Urban Warfare Studies at the Modern War Institute at West Point, ‘Combat in Subterranean Environments’ is more akin to underwater warfare than traditional building-based warfare, Frontier India writes. “Equipment designed for surface use is not effective in underground environments. Specialised tools are required for such tasks as visibility, respiration, navigation, mapping, communication and deploying lethal measures in subterranean settings.” link

IDF Reveals: Hamas Murdered Noa Marciano in Shifa Hospital; Abducted Hostages There
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Tuesday the death of Cpl. Noa Marciano, 19, who was captured by Hamas terrorists during their barbaric raid on October 7 and subsequently held in Gaza. JOEL B. POLLAK19 Nov 2023 3:31 JERUSALEM, Israel — The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released evidence Sunday that Hamas murdered captured soldier Noa Marciano at Shifa Hospital in Gaza. It also showed surveillance footage of terrorists taking other hostages to the hospital. As Breitbart News reported last week, the IDF recovered Corporal Marciano’s body during operations near Shifa Hospital. Hamas had forced her to make a propaganda video in which she appeared alive one moment, and was shown dead the next moment. Hamas claimed that she had been killed in an Israeli airstrike. On Sunday, IDF spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari revealed that forensic analysis of Marciano’s body showed that she had minor injuries on October 7 and had been murdered at the hospital. In addition, the IDF revealed surveillance footage of Hamas bringing hostages from Israel into Gaza and into the hospital. The video shows armed Hamas terrorists surrounding a Thai civilian and a Nepalese civilian. One is shown injured and on a gurney, and the other is seen being frogmarched through the hallway of the hospital. EXPOSED: This is documentation from Shifa Hospital from the day of the massacre, October 7, 2023, between the hours of 10:42 a.m and 11:01 a.m. in which hostages, a Nepalese civilian and a Thai civilian, were abducted from Israeli territory are seen surrounded by armed Hamas… pic.twitter.com/a5udjBw4wF — Israel Defense Forces (@idf) November 19, 2023 Observers noted that the footage poses a major problem for the International Committee of the Red Cross and other humanitarian organizations, which essentially turned a blind eye while Shifa and other hospitals were abused by terrorists. The ICRC is closely involved with the development and administration of the hospital, according to its own website. link

Israel Admits It Killed Some Of Its Own At Nova Music Festival
BY TYLER DURDEN SUNDAY, NOV 19, 2023 - 09:35 PM Via The Cradle An Israeli police investigation into the Hamas attack on the Nova music festival near the Gaza border on October 7 revealed that an Israeli attack helicopter killed some of the attendees, Haaretz reported on Saturday. According to a police source, an investigation into the incident showed that an Israeli combat helicopter that arrived at the scene from the Ramat David base fired at Hamas fighters and other Palestinians who crossed through the border fence from Gaza into Israel, but also fired on some of the Israelis attending the music festival. According to the police, 364 people in total were killed there. Burnt cars are abandoned in a carpark near where a music festival was held, via Reuters. The Israeli military and rescue services previously claimed that 260 Israelis were killed at the festival, all by Hamas and Palestinians in a deliberate massacre. But this is the first acknowledgement that Israeli forces killed some of their own. Previous reports in Israeli media revealed that Israeli forces killed Israeli civilians in Be’eri, a settlement also near the Gaza border. In that case, Hamas fighters were holding Israelis captive in homes. When the Israeli military arrived, it opened fire, including by firing tank shells, killing both Israeli captives and Hamas fighters. Three of those killed in Be’eri by Israeli tank fire were 12-year-old Liel Hezroni, her brother Yanai, and their aunt Ayla. Israeli broadcaster Kan reported that Liel’s relatives held a farewell ceremony for her, rather than a burial ceremony, because her body could not be recovered from the house that collapsed on her and other Hamas captives after an Israeli tank fired two shells into it. A similar instance occurred in Sderot, where Hamas fighters had taken over the local police station, and were holding Israeli police captive inside. Both the Hamas fighters and Israeli police were killed when the Israeli army fired tank shells at the police station, killing everyone. Israeli forces then bulldozed the station. It is therefore unclear how many of the Israelis who died on 7 October were killed by Hamas, whose fighters were seeking to take as many Israelis, both soldiers and civilians, captive back to Gaza as possible, and how many were killed by Israeli forces refusing to negotiate for the captives’ release. Israel initially claimed Hamas and Palestinians killed 1,400 Israelis on October 7, including soldiers, police, and civilians, but later revised the count to 1,200. Israeli spokesperson Mark Regev acknowledged that 200 of the alleged victims were Hamas fighters or Palestinians whose bodies were burned so badly that Israeli authorities could not initially identify them and assumed them to be Israelis. In an interview with MSNBC on Friday, he stated, "We originally said, in the atrocious Hamas attack upon our people on October 7th, we had the number at 1,400 casualties and now we’ve revised that down to 1,200 because we understood that we’d overestimated, we made a mistake. There were actually bodies that were so badly burnt we thought they were ours, in the end apparently they were Hamas terrorists." Regarding the Nova festival, Haaretz reported as well that, "There is a growing assessment in the security establishment that the terrorists who carried out the massacre on October 7 did not know in advance about the Nova festival held near Kibbutz Re'im, and decided to come to the place after discovering that a mass event was taking place there." The Hamas fighters had initially intended to attack nearby settlements in what is known as the Gaza envelope. According to Haaretz, senior security officials estimate that Hamas found out about the existence of the party using drones, and directed its fighters to the location using their communication system. In a video from a body camera of one Hamas fighter, "he is heard asking a captured Israeli for directions to reach the bad guys, even though he was in a different area." One of the findings that strengthens the assessment, according to the police and other security officials, is that the first Hamas fighters arrived at the Nova festival from the direction of road 232 and not from the direction of the Gaza border fence. link

Female Israeli Tank Commanders Wipe Out Hamas Terrorists
JOEL B. POLLAK 25 Nov 2023 2:16 A group of Israeli women who serve as commanders in the armored corps of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) saved two communities near Gaza during the Hamas attack on October 7 — and their story has finally been told on Israeli television. As Breitbart News recently noted during a visit to the agricultural community of Yated, near the Egyptian and Gaza borders: Yated was spared the worst of the October 7 carnage, according to local farmer Shai Avraham, thanks in part to a vigilant female tank commander from a nearby base who decided to fire upon a group of Hamas terrorists who were lurking near the community. She killed most of them, and while a few persisted in their attack, others fled back to Gaza and did not return. A few commenters on social media doubted whether such an event actually happened. It did, and Israel’s Channel 12 reported it: Female officers in the IDF typically serve as instructors, or in logistical roles. However, a small but increasing number are being accepted into combat units, including infantry, armored corps, and aviation roles. Women are playing combat roles inside Gaza as well during the current conflict, serving in mixed male-female units. link

Hamas ‘Violates’ Ceasefire Deal, Ambushes Israeli Forces in Gaza
Frank Bergman November 28, 2023 - 11:48 am Hamas terrorists have reportedly “violated” the temporary ceasefire with Israel by ambushing Israeli forces with gunfire and explosions in Gaza. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Tuesday that terrorists have violated the ceasefire by attacking its forces in multiple locations. The IDF said in a statement: “Over the last hour, 3 explosive devices were detonated adjacent to IDF troops in 2 different locations in northern Gaza, violating the framework of the operational pause. “In one of the locations, terrorists also opened fire at the troops, who responded with fire.” “A number of soldiers were lightly injured during the incidents,” the statement added. “IDF troops were located in positions as per the framework of the operational pause.” Over the last hour, 3 explosive devices were detonated adjacent to IDF troops in 2 different locations in northern Gaza, violating the framework of the operational pause. In one of the locations, terrorists also opened fire at the troops, who responded with fire. A number of… — Israel Defense Forces (@idf) November 28, 2023 The developments come as Hamas is expected to release 10 additional Israeli hostages at some point today. The release was supposed to be made during the first day of an extended cease-fire agreement. The deal first went into effect on Friday. Until now, there has been no activity inside the Gaza Strip between Israel’s military and Hamas. Hamas released a statement saying it remains committed to the terms of the ceasefire and it in turn accused Israel of violations. “As a result of a clear violation by the enemy of the truce agreement in the northern Gaza Strip today, field friction occurred and our mujahideen dealt with this violation,” Hamas’ Al-Qassam Brigades wrote in a statement. “We are committed to the truce as long as the enemy has committed to it, and we call on the mediators to pressure the occupation to adhere to all the terms of the truce on the ground and in the air.” Israel secured the release of at least 69 hostages since the cease-fire began on Friday. The hostages were exchanged for 150 Palestinian criminals held in Israeli prisons. The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said last week that the “release of every additional ten hostages will result in one additional day in the pause” in the fighting. Despite the current pause in hostilities, Israel has made clear that it is only a pause and not an end to the war. In a statement, Netanyahu’s office asserted: “The Government of Israel, the IDF, and the security services will continue the war in order to return home all of the hostages, complete the elimination of Hamas, and ensure that there will be no new threat to the State of Israel from Gaza.” link
