Multiple States Back Texas in Battle with Biden over Border Defense

Several states have announced their support for Texas as Republican Gov. Greg Abbott continues to battle with Democrat President Joe Biden’s administration over the state’s right to defend its border.



Texas made clear Wednesday that it will continue to defend itself and America’s frontier against the ongoing “invasion” of illegal aliens.



Support for Texas is now growing despite efforts by the Biden admin to otherwise render the Southern Border wide open.



Other Republican states have begun to rally behind Texas, assuring border communities in the Lone Star State that they are not alone.



A number of other states have now called out the White House for its apparent failure to address the crisis at the border.



On Wednesday, Gov. Abbott issued a statement stressing that Texas has the “constitutional authority to defend and protect itself.”



The governor argues that this authority “supersedes any federal statutes to the contrary.”



Abbott’s provocative statement came days after the U.S. Supreme Court vacated a lower court’s order against Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS).



The ruling allowed DHS to cut through defensive razor wire along the Southern Border in Texas to allow illegals to flood in from Mexico.



“The federal government has broken the compact between the United States and the States,” wrote Abbott.



“The Executive Branch of the United States has a constitutional duty to enforce federal laws protecting States, including immigration laws on the books right now.



“President Biden has refused to enforce those laws and has even violated them.”



Abbott asserts that the Biden admin’s failure to fulfill its duty to protect each state against invasion, codified in Article IV, Section 4 of the Constitution, has “triggered Article I, § 10, Clause 3, which reserves to this State the right of self-defense.”


The governor’s statement appeared to account for why Texas began installing more wire and border defenses this week with state agencies vowing to hold the line.



Texas has added more defenses in defiance of the Biden White House, which admitted the razor wire at the border “got in the way” of letting future Democrat voters enter the country illegally.



In response to Texas’ stated and visible efforts to protect both American sovereignty and itself, various Democrats called on the geriatric president to seize control of the Texas National Guard and to all but force the Lone Star State to submit.



Several Republican governors have expressed support for Texas’ self-defense or have at least decried the Biden administration for letting things degenerate to the point where such defense was required.



One hour after Abbott shared his statement online, Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt (R) announced, “Oklahoma stands with Texas.”



Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis wrote:



“If the Constitution really made states powerless to defend themselves against an invasion, it wouldn’t have been ratified in the first place and Texas would never have joined the union when it did.



“TX is upholding the law while Biden is flouting it.



“FL will keep assisting Texas with personnel and assets.”

Virginia’s Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin later stated:



“Virginia stands with Texas. [Abbott] is doing the job Joe Biden and his border czar refuse to do to secure our border.



“The Biden administration has turned every state into a border state.



“We must stop the flow of fentanyl, save lives, and secure our southern border.”



Georgia’s GOP Gov. Brian Kemp said, “Enough is enough.



“Our southern border is in crisis thanks to the Biden administration’s refusal to do their job.



“[Abbott] and the state of Texas have our full support.”



Republican South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem declared that Abbott “is exactly right to invoke Texas’ constitutional authority to defend itself.



“The Biden Administration has created a national security crisis and put Americans in danger.



“Their failure is an unconstitutional dereliction of duty.



“South Dakota has been proud to help Gov. Abbott’s efforts to secure our border.”



Other Republican governors appeared less committed.



Nevertheless, many expressed appreciation for Texas and antipathy for the federal government over its apparent inaction.



Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte suggested in a tweet that Abbott “is doing what @potus won’t.



“By refusing to act, President Biden is inviting cartels, illegal drugs, and human trafficking into the United States.



“We must secure the southern border.”



Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said:



“The border is a disaster that continues to spiral out of control, both in terms of people and deadly fentanyl traffic.



“This is not a partisan issue. This is a national security issue.



“This is a common-sense issue. This is an American issue.



“Utah thanks Texas and Gov. Abbott for stepping up where the Biden Administration has failed over and over again.”



Meanwhile, the leaders of other red states — including Govs. Bill Lee (Tennessee), Brad Little (Idaho), Jim Pillen (Nebraska), and Tate Reeves (Mississippi) — have also committed troops, law enforcement agents, support vehicles, and other resources to Texas in recent years with the aim of shoring up America’s defenses.



Some Republicans in Washington have also voiced support for Texas and its ability to defend itself.



House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) joined Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) in signaling support.



“I stand with Governor Abbott,” Johnson said in a post on X.



“The House will do everything in its power to back him up.



“The next step: holding Secretary Mayorkas accountable.”

War? 25 Red States Rally 'Round Texas As Battle Brews With Biden Over Border

A coalition of red states has rallied around Texas, after Governor Greg Abbott invoked the state's constitutional right to self-defense due to the migrant crisis, which he deemed an 'invasion.'

As End Wokeness notes, a coalition of 25 Republican governors have signed a joint letter in support of the Texas resistance.

The support began on Wednesday, with Governor Kevin Stitt tweeting: "Oklahoma stands with Texas."

"TX is upholding the law while Biden is flouting it," said Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

And of course, the optics couldn't be worse for the Biden administration - which is now faced with the prospect of going to war with Texas, during an election year, to keep the border open.



And Wall Street Silver pointed out on X, Texas is authorized to engage in war if being invaded according to Article 1, Section 10, Clause 3 of the Constitution.

Though as X user blueapples points out, Abbott cited the dissenting (losing) position in Arizona v. United States which determined that federal law overrides state laws when it comes to regulating those who are unlawfully present in the US, except when it comes to a state's right to require officers to verify the citizenship or alien status of detained migrants.

Regardless, Abbott has drawn a line in the sand - and whatever litigation may play out in the courts is secondary to the fact that this is happening now.



As journalist Matt Walsh notes, "Abbott has Biden over a barrel here."

Meanwhile in Washington, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) told fellow Republicans in a private meeting on Ukraine that time and the political will to pass a bipartisan immigration and border security compromise is running out, Punchbowl News reports.


According to the outlet:



McConnell told GOP senators that before border security talks began, immigration policy united Republicans and Ukraine aid divided them. “Politics on this have changed,” McConnell said of solving the crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border. That’s because former President Donald Trump wants to run his 2024 campaign focusing on immigration.



"We don’t want to do anything to undermine him," McConnell said of Trump - effectively backing away from the 'border-security-for-Ukraine' construct that Republicans have been clinging to the last few months.

As the Gateway Pundit reported earlier, several Republican governors are uniting in support of Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s challenge against the Biden regime to defend the southern border. Now, President Trump is voicing his support and calling on them to raise the bar further.



Trump, a short time ago, called on ‘all willing states’ to send their national guards to Texas to defend the U.S.-Mexico border. He also vowed to work with Governor Abbott to stop the invasion on Day One of his Presidency.



We encourage all willing States to deploy their guards to Texas to prevent the entry of Illegals, and to remove them back across the Border,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.



All Americans should support the commonsense measures by Texas authorities to protect the Safety, Security, and Sovereignty of Texas, and of the American people.”

Even before Trump’s announcement, the number of states supporting Texas putting up razor wire and deploying other measures to seal the border grew from 14 to 25.

The states now backing Texas are Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Idaho, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Nevada, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming.



The Gateway Pundit previously reported Governor Abbott deployed approximately 30 miles of razor wire near Eagle Pass, Texas, as a barrier against illegal immigration.



However, this move was challenged in court, leading to a lengthy legal battle. Despite defeats in lower courts, the state’s efforts were momentarily boosted by a decision from the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals, which was reversed by the Supreme Court’s 5-4 vote as Cristina Laila reported.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott spoke with Tucker Carlson on Friday, telling him that he's going to "do as much as possible to put up more border barriers and deny illegal entry," and that "our head is down we are working regardless of what the Biden Administration is doing."


Abbott told Carlson that he's "prepared" in the event that Biden tries to take over the Texas National Guard.



"That would be a boneheaded move on his part, a total disaster," he said. "We are prepared, in the event that that unlikely event does occur."



"We do have other armed state employees on the border as we speak right this minute, and that’s the Texas Department of Public Safety, as well as other law enforcement officers, as well as national Guard from other states. And you can be assured there will be more national Guard from other states and more law enforcement officers within the state of Texas and other states."

Ten retired FBI officials and experts in counterintelligence sent a letter to Congressional leaders warning that the Biden administration's policies have facilitated a "soft invasion" of military-age men into the United States from terror-linked areas of the world.


The letter, written on Jan. 17, before Texas Gov. Greg Abbott invoked the invasion clause of the US Constitution, suggests that a terrorist attack is likely imminent.



"The threat we call out today is new and unfamiliar. In its modern history the U.S. has never suffered an invasion of the homeland, and, yet, one is unfolding now," the letter reads.



"Military age men from across the globe, many from countries or regions not friendly to the United States, are landing in waves on our soil by the thousands – not by splashing ashore from a ship or parachuting from a plane bur rather by foot across a border that has been accurately advertised around the world as largely unprotected with ready access granted."



"It would be difficult to overstate the danger represented by the presence inside our borders of what is comparatively a multi division army of young single adult males from hostile nations and regions whose background, intent, or allegiance is completely unknown. They include individuals encountered by border officials and then possibly released into the country, along with the shockingly high estimate of 'gotaways,' meaning those who have entered and evaded apprehension," the letter continues.



Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) called the letter "sobering."

Earlier this week, Abbott invoked Texas' right to self-defense, deeming the migrant crisis an 'invasion.' In response, a coalition of 25 Republican governors have signed a letter in support of the Texas resistance.

Meanwhile, TX Attorney General Ken Paxton posted a meme on X which reads "COME AND TAKE IT."

Of the more than 10 million illegal border crossers who have entered the US since Biden took office, more than 1.7 million are "gotaways" - those who have illegally entered and evaded capture since Biden has been in office. The majority of these are reportedly military age men.



"In light of such a daunting, unprecedented penetration by uninvited foreign actors, it is reasonable to assert that the country possesses dramatically diminished national security at this time. The nation's military and laws and other natural protective barriers that have provided traditional security in the past have been thoroughly circumvented over the past three years," the former FBI officials wrote.



The letter calls on Congress to secure the border "against these young men and those already here illegally must be identified and removed without delay."



According to the Gazette, the authors include;



Kevin Brock, former assistant director of intelligence and former principal deputy director of the National Counterterrorism Center; Chris Swecker, former assistant director of the FBI’s Criminal Investigative Division; Timothy Healy, former director of the Terrorist Screening Center; Ruben Garcia, Jr., former executive assistant director of the Criminal, Cyber, Response and Services Branch; Mark Morgan, former assistant director for training at the FBI, former acting commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection and former U.S. Border Patrol chief; David Szady, former assistant director of counterintelligence; Jody Weiss, former special agent in charge in Philadelphia; David Mitchell, former special agent in charge in Milwaukee; William Gavin, former assistant director of the FBI’s Inspection Division and Timothy McNally, former assistant director of the FBI’s Los Angeles division.

BORDER SHOWDOWN: DHS Sends 2nd Demand Notice to Texas over Seized Park Access

EAGLE PASS, Texas —Department of Homeland Security General Counsel Jonathan Meyer sent a second demand letter to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton demanding the state of Texas grant full, unimpeded access to a border city park and boat ramp. The Texas Military Department seized Shelby Park in early January. Tuesday’s letter sets a deadline of January 26, for the state to grant the Border Patrol full access to Shelby Park and other areas along a 2.5 mile stretch of the Rio Grande in the small Texas border town of Eagle Pass.



The letter, attached below, directly addresses Monday’s U.S. Supreme Court order freeing the Border Patrol to cut wire and fencing installed by the state to gain access to the border under their statutory authority to enter private lands without warrant within 25 miles of the border. The 5-4 decision paused a lower court’s ruling that had previously blocked such action.



The letter addresses the issue by saying, “As you are aware, yesterday, the Supreme Court vacated the injunction prohibiting the Department from cutting or moving the concertina wire that Texas had placed along the border except in case of emergency, and restored the Department’s right to cut and move the concertina wire placed by Texas in order to perform their statutory duties. The Department must also have the ability to access the border in the Shelby Park area that is currently obstructed by Texas.”



The letter demands unfettered access to several areas in and around the park stating,



“In sum, we require full access to the Shelby Park area currently obstructed by Texas, including but not limited to the following locations to patrol the border and directly monitor the Rio Grande River consistent with U.S. Border Patrol’s responsibility and statutory authorities:



Access to Eagle Pass International Bridge Port of Entry II, also known as Camino Real International Bridge, from the Loop 480 access road, 24 hours a day. This is to include beneath the port of entry as well.


Access through the federal border barrier entrances described above located on Ford Street, Main Street, near the intersection of Rio Grande Street and Ryan Street, and the two entrances on the end of Ryan Street, for Border Patrol to move through and conduct line watch duties and patrol within the Shelby Park area 24 hours a day.


Full access to the boat ramp located at Shelby Park Main Street entrance, consistent with the perpetual easement.

Unrestricted access to the entire Shelby Park area during emergency circumstances, including but not limited to, assistance to other agents and officers as well as medical and rescue operations.


“By January 26, 2024, please confirm that the State will provide U.S. Border Patrol with the access described above,” the letter continues. “If the State refuses the requested access in part, but not in whole, please specify what access you intend to deny.”


In addition, the DHS letter asserted the placement of the temporary gates at the entrance of the park, put in place by state authorities, were on federal land. The land in question was acquired by the federal government after an intense legal battle with the City of Eagle Pass over the right to erect a border fence as required by the Secure Fence Act of 2006.

Former President Donald Trump called on governors to use their National Guard soldiers to remove migrants back across the border. His post on Truth Social follows statements from 25 Republican governors supporting the State of Texas’s standoff against the Biden administration in Shelby Park.

The former president’s comments came on the day 25 Republican governors from Alaska to Florida, New Hampshire to Nevada, issued statements of support for Texas and Governor Greg Abbott’s mission to secure the state’s southern border.



“If Greg Abbott needs more razor wire, I’ll load it into a pickup myself,” South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem told Fox News Thursday night.

On Tuesday, the Department of Homeland Security sent a second demand letter to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton demanding the State allow full, unimpeded access to Shelby Park in Eagle Pass, Breitbart Texas’s Randy Clark reported. The Texas Military Department seized the park earlier this month and expelled the Border Patrol agents other than those launching boats into the Rio Grande.



“By January 26, 2024, please confirm that the State will provide U.S. Border Patrol with the access described above,” DHS General Counsel Jonathan E. Meyer wrote in the letter to Paxton. “If the State refuses the requested access in part, but not in whole, please specify what access you intend to deny.”



As the deadline approached, Abbott is standing fast on the State’s control of Shelby Park and the small section of the Rio Grande border with Mexico.



“Texas has a constitutional right to defend and protect itself,” Abbott told Fox News. “We will continue to hold the line.”



Since the new fiscal year began on October 1, 2023, Border Patrol agents apprehended more than 460,000 migrants who illegally crossed the border between ports of entry into the five Texas-based sectors, according to unofficial Border Patrol reports reviewed by Breitbart Texas.

Around 3 p.m. local time, the incident started on the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge.



According to the Mexican news outlet Adn40, “apparently the confrontation occurred between elements of the army and armed civilians; the preliminary balance is three alleged criminals killed.”



The city of Pharr in Texas, United States, and the city of Reynosa in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas are connected by a bridge that spans the Rio Grande.

A convoy of truckers is organizing to travel to multiple areas along the U.S.-Mexico border in the upcoming week. Their objective is to bring greater awareness to the immigration enforcement policies of President Joe Biden, who Republicans have criticized for facilitating millions of illegal border crossings.



In Texas, Governor Greg Abbott (R) seems to be openly challenging the administration and the U.S. Supreme Court by instructing the National Guard to construct razor wire barriers along a specific border area near Eagle Pass in order to halt the influx of migrants.



Rep. Keith Self (R-Texas) announced an upcoming event called the “Take Our Border Back” multi-day trucker caravan, scheduled to take place from January 29th to February 3rd. The routes will terminate at Eagle Pass, Texas, Yuma, Arizona, and San Ysidro, California.



The U.S. convoy plans to replicate the actions of protest movements in Canada during the COVID pandemic. In Canada, truckers congregated outside government offices in Ottawa and border checkpoints to express their opposition to the nation’s stringent vaccine recommendations. Following the protests, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau utilized the “Emergencies Act” of the country to officially declare a type of martial law, resulting in the removal of demonstrators by riot police and the apprehension of leaders whose bank accounts were also confiscated.



A Canadian judge recently declared that Trudeau’s invocation and utilization of the act was illegal.



Trucker groups have planned to gather in San Ysidro, California, Eagle Pass, Texas, and Yuma, Arizona, on February 3 in response to the border issue. Multiple meet-up dates have been scheduled in the following days, expecting truckers to travel from as far as Jacksonville, Florida, to take part in the protests.



The brochure for the “Take Our Border Back Convoy” asserts that the Biden Administration and the federal government are breaching Article IV, Section IV of the U.S. Constitution. The aforementioned language assigns the responsibility to the federal government to safeguard Americans from invasions.

The exit polling data on voters’ priorities during Tuesday’s primaries in New Hampshire does not augur well for President Joe Biden and the Democratic Party as they endeavor to shape the agenda for the upcoming November elections.



Recently, the White House made an announcement stating that Vice President Kamala Harris initiated a countrywide tour called the “Fight for Reproductive Freedoms” in Wisconsin. The primary objective of this tour is to guarantee broader availability of abortion services.



Harris expressed her belief that freedom is a crucial aspect of America’s promise, which included the right to make decisions regarding one’s own body, without interference from the government.



Her comments — and the White House’s emphasis on abortion — follow the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision last year to overturn Roe v. Wade, determining that the matter should always have been under the jurisdiction of individual states.



Based on CBS News’ exit polling conducted during the New Hampshire primary, the predominant concerns among voters are the illegal immigration dilemma at the southern border of the country and the state of the economy.



The economy and immigration are the biggest concerns for voters in the New Hampshire primary. The outlet reported that these are the identical concerns that held the highest significance for Iowa GOP caucus participants. “Immigration serves as a catalyst, especially for individuals who support Trump.”

The new “We the People: Take Our Border Back” trucker convoy has gone viral on social media as thousands of Americans plan to defend the U.S. Southern Border.



The multi-day event commences in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and culminates with three rallies across three states, California, Arizona, and Texas on February 3, 2024.



The massive convoy of truckers will make its way to illegal migrant hotspots in a bid to shame Democrat President Joe Biden’s administration into tackling the worsening crisis.



Thousands of big rigs will head for Eagle Pass in Texas, Yuma in Arizona, and San Ysidro in California from January 29 for the four-day “Take Back Our Border” event.

They hope the eye-catching, all-American protest will draw further attention to record numbers of migrants crossing the Southern Border and into the U.S.



The move comes as multiple cities are now buckling under the weight of trying to care for record numbers of illegals.



In a post on X, Rep. Keith Self (R-TX) said: “Once again, the truckers are standing for We the People.



“The time is NOW to take action and secure our borders!”



The development is the latest in an increasingly heated and chaotic political fight over whether Texas can ignore or supersede the federal government.



Texas Gov. Greg Abbott accuses the Biden admin of not doing enough to stem the flow of illegal immigrants into the Lone Star State.

Despite the Supreme Court ruling on Monday in favor of the Biden admin that Border Patrol agents can cut razor wire placed at the border if they feel the need to, Texas is doubling down.


The state added more wire fencing and is refusing to give up control of an Eagle Pass park it seized control of on Jan. 10.



Federal Border Patrol agents are barred from the area.



The feds have given the state a deadline of Jan. 26 to allow Border Patrol agents access to Shelby Park.



It’s unknown what, if anything, will happen if Texas refuses to comply with the federal government by Friday, but Rep. Joaquin Castro (D-TX) ratcheted up the language– suggesting Biden use force.

“Governor Greg Abbott is using the Texas National Guard to obstruct and create chaos at the border,” Castro posted online.



“If Abbott is defying yesterday’s Supreme Court ruling, @potus needs to establish sole federal control of the Texas National Guard now.”

But Texas has plenty of support, with 25 governors from Republican states releasing letters backing up Abbott.



“I think the border has now reached a boiling point, that you now see governors getting involved,” Self told Fox Business News.



“We have a trucker convoy coming down to the border.



“The American people are going to have to get involved.”



The group behind the convoy is asking all peaceful Americans to participate starting Monday, Jan 29th.



Trucks will be moving through the country, making stops along the way.



“These people are committed to a peaceful demonstration, that we have had enough– the American people have had enough,” Self said.



“We’re demanding the Biden Administration do its job, enforce the laws on the books and secure our border.”



For the fiscal year 2022-2023, there were a record 2.48 million interceptions along the southern border – and many more crossers who entered the United States undetected.



September 2023 saw an all-time high of 269,735 interceptions.



Migrants intercepted by Border Patrol agents can ask to apply for asylum.



They are usually released into the United States while awaiting their case to be heard by a court.

Biden's Deadline for Texas Backfires, Border Patrol Union Makes It Clear Some Orders Won't Be Followed

Texas is rejecting a Biden administration demand to give federal agents full access to a border park even as the union representing Border Patrol agents says it has no plans to push Texas troops out of the way even if ordered.



Throughout January, Texas and the Biden administration have dueled over Shelby Park in the community of Eagle Pass, Texas, which has been flooded with waves of illegal immigrants. Texas National Guard troops have denied federal agents access to the park, leading to a demand from the Department of Homeland Security that Texas do as DHS tells it and grant access to Border Patrol agents.



The demand gave Texas until Friday to respond and comply. Instead, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton wrote in a letter to Jonathan Meyer, general counsel for the Department of Homeland Security, rejecting the demand.



“Presumably because you have no meaningful response to our letter, your latest letter abandons earlier factual assertions, asserts new ones, and supplies even less of a legal basis for your demand. Once again, I respectfully suggest that any time you might spend suing Texas should be redirected toward enforcing the immigration laws Congress already has on the books,” Paxton wrote.



The letter shot holes in federal claims that it has rights to some areas of the park, mocking a “home-cooked map” purporting to show land the federal government owns, saying, “publicly available records suggest the United States does not even purport to own what your latest letter claims.”



The letter also explains an agreement between Eagle Pass and the federal government to access certain land was never approved by the state, as required by law, and therefore is not in effect.



“The 2018 easement, however, nowhere contemplates allowing the federal government to deploy infrastructure that President Biden will use to wave thousands of illegal aliens into a park that will ‘continue to [be] use[d] and enjoy[ed]’ for ‘recreation events,’” the letter said.



“As I said before, this office will continue to defend Texas’s efforts to protect its southern border against every effort by the Biden Administration to undermine the State’s constitutional right of self-defense. You should advise your clients to join us in those efforts by doing their job and following the law,” he wrote.



Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has said Texas has a constitutional duty to respond to an invasion on the part of illegal immigrants, to which Democrats such as Democratic Reps. Joaquin Castro and Greg Casar of Texas have replied by calling for President Joe Biden to federalize the Texas National Guard and take it out of the state’s control, according to Newsweek.


Paxton said he doubts a physical confrontation will ensure, saying he expects the issue will be fought out in court, according to Fox News.



Meanwhile, the Border Patrol union posted a defiant message on X.



“Rank-and file BP agents are not going to start arresting TX NG members for following their LAWFUL orders. That’s fake news. TX NG and rank-and-file BP agents work together and respect each other’s jobs. Period,” the union posted.



“If TX NG members have LAWFUL orders, then they have to carry out those orders. TX NG members realize that rank-and-file BP agents have their orders as well. Lawful orders, no matter how unpopular or distasteful amongst rank-and-file agents, must be followed,” the post said.



The post said liberals hoping for a Fort Sumter moment would be disappointed.



“Unlawful orders (as determined by competent legal counsel and not what some outhouse lawyer behind a keyboard says) will not be followed. Rank-and-file BP agents appreciate and respect what TX has been doing to defend their state in the midst of this catastrophe that the Biden Admin has unleashed on America,” the post said.

“We want to be perfectly clear, there is no fight between rank-and-file BP agents and the TX NG, Gov. Abott, or TX DPS. It may make flashy headlines, but it simply isn’t true,” the post concluded.

Republicans Call on Gov Abbott to Ignore Supreme Court’s Texas Border Order

Growing numbers of Republicans across the country are calling on Gov. Greg Abbott to ignore the Supreme Court’s order in the escalating standoff between Texas and Democrat President Joe Biden’s administration.



Newsweek reports that Republicans are throwing their support behind the Texas governor in the border-related dispute.



In case you missed it, the Supreme Court rendered the ruling last Monday.



The issue before the justices of the Supreme Court was the razor wire fencing that Texas has installed at the U.S.-Mexico border.



This is one of several legal disputes regarding the U.S.-Mexico border that is currently taking place between Texas and the Biden admin.



Texas, in general, has been arguing that it has to take matters into its own hands because the Biden administration refuses to secure the border.



The razor wire fencing is one example of Texas taking matters into its own hands.



Regarding the razor wire, the justices of the Supreme Court have sided with the Biden administration.

A narrowly divided Supreme Court on Monday sided with the Biden administration in a tense, ongoing dispute over the Texas-Mexico border and razor wire fencing installed by the state that had prohibited federal border agents from performing their duties.



The court, by a vote of 5-4, cleared the way for federal agents to remove the wire, which administration officials and immigration advocates had called dangerous and inhumane.



The outlet goes on to report that “the Supreme Court’s order did not elaborate on the decision.”



Newsweek highlights an important fact about the Supreme Court’s ruling, writing, “Notably, the ruling does not bar Texas from constructing more razor wire and only says that the federal government must be able to take it down when deemed necessary.”



Since the ruling, reports indicate that Texas has continued to erect razor-wire fencing.



It has also been reported that the state has not engaged in efforts to prevent the federal government from removing some of the fencing.


It is unclear whether the federal government has removed any of the fencing.



Fox News reports, “Border Patrol has ‘no plans’ to remove razor wire placed by Texas along the southern border, a senior Customs and Border Protection (CBP) official told Fox News on Friday, stressing a ‘strong’ relationship with Texas despite an ongoing legal battle between the state and the administration.”



Abbott has released a statement in response to the Supreme Court’s ruling in which he insisted that the legal battle over the Southern Border “is not over.”



“This is not over,” Abbott wrote.



“Texas’ razor wire is an effective deterrent to the illegal crossings Biden encourages.”



He added, “I will continue to defend Texas’ constitutional authority to secure the border and prevent the Biden Admin from destroying our property.”



This all comes as illegal immigration continues to occur at record numbers under the Biden administration.



December 2023 set a monthly record with 371,000 illegal immigrant encounters at the southern border.

Texas Is 'Prepared' If Biden Federalizes State National Guard: Gov. Abbott

Texas Governor Greg Abbott said that his state is “prepared” to deal with President Joe Biden potentially federalizing its National Guard as the Lone Star State utilizes the troops to secure the border.



On Jan. 22, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that federal agents could not be blocked from removing the razor wire that Texas has placed along the U.S.-Mexico border. In response, Gov. Abbott announced that his state will not “back down from our efforts to secure the border.” This triggered Democrats to call on President Biden to federalize the National Guard.



The razor wire along the border was set up by the Texas National Guard and the state’s Department of Public Safety. In a Jan. 26 interview with Tucker Carlson, Gov. Abbott was asked about his response if President Biden goes ahead with the proposal.



“Well, first, I'd be shocked. That would be a boneheaded move on his part—total disaster,” Gov. Abbott said. “For one, as you might imagine, we are prepared in the event that that unlikely event does occur to make sure that we will be able to continue exactly what we’ve been doing over the past month, and that is building these barriers.”



“Whatever we’ve been building, the Biden administration is now trying to attack us because of it, and we will continue to do exactly what we’re doing to expand our denial of illegal entry into the state of Texas.”



Gov. Abbott pointed out that state forces were already operating at the border and that he expects more forces to come to Texas from other state National Guards.



“There’ve been about ten [states] so far that have sent National Guard or other law enforcement … They now are joined together with us. This is a fight for the future of America, and they all know it. And so I believe that they will all be in on this effort.”



In an interview with Bloomberg on Thursday, the governor said that Texas was “adding more razor wire as we speak right now to make sure that we are doing even more to secure the border.”



Gov. Abbott insisted that his state has the authority to defy the U.S. federal government in accordance with the U.S. Constitution since the founding fathers believed that “there would be times when the federal government does not do its job and states have a right of self-defense.”



On Wednesday, Gov. Abbott accused the Biden administration of failing to fulfill the duties outlined in Article IV, Section 4, which asks the federal government to protect each state against “invasion.”



President Biden’s failure has triggered “Article 1, Section, 10, Clause 3, which reserves to this State the right of self-defense,” he said.



The governor declared an invasion under Clause 3 and invoked “Texas’s constitutional authority to defend and protect itself. That authority is the supreme law of the land and supersedes any federal statutes to the contrary.”



The conflict between the federal government and Texas comes as the U.S. border patrol registered 302,034 encounters with illegal migrants along the southwest land border in December—the highest level since 2021.



Supporting Texas

Republicans have announced strong support for Texas in the clash with the federal government. “Joe Biden is defying federal law by allowing 9.6M illegal aliens to flood through our border,” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) said in a Jan. 26 post.



“If the federal government won’t step up, Texas has the Constitutional authority to protect itself. I’m proud to stand with Texas and Governor Abbott as we work to stop this invasion.”



Former President Donald Trump also backed Texas. “We encourage all willing States to deploy their guards to Texas to prevent the entry of illegals and to remove them back across the Border,” he said in a Jan. 25 statement.



“All Americans should support the commonsense measures by Texas authorities to protect the safety, security, and sovereignty of Texas, and of the American people. When I am president, on day one, instead of fighting Texas, I will work hand in hand with Governor Abbott and other border states to stop the invasion, seal the border, and rapidly begin the largest domestic deportation operation in history.”



The National Border Patrol Council (NBPC), which represents around 18,000 Border Patrol (BP) agents and support personnel assigned to the U.S. Border Patrol, extended support to Texas’ measures as well.



“Rank-and-file BP agents appreciate and respect what TX has been doing to defend their state in the midst of this catastrophe that the Biden Admin has unleashed on America,” it said in a Jan. 26 post.



“We want to be perfectly clear; there is no fight between rank-and-file BP agents and the TX NG (National Guard), Gov. Abbott, or TX DPS (Department of Public Safety). It may make flashy headlines, but it simply isn’t true.”



Meanwhile, calls for impeaching Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas over the border crisis are gaining steam. Rep. Mark Green (R-Tenn.) is expected to introduce articles of impeachment against the official next week.



“Secretary Mayorkas has outdone himself yet again—never have we seen such catastrophic numbers, even with historically high encounter numbers on his watch,” he said in a statement. “December’s numbers serve as more undeniable proof that Secretary Mayorkas must be impeached.



“This staggering number of encounters at our borders only happens by design and a willful refusal to comply with the laws passed by Congress.”

Like the truckers who shocked Canada several years ago, a convoy of Americans is coming together to protest a failed government — this time over Joe Biden’s refusal to close the border to law-breaking illegal immigrants who are streaming across by the tens of thousands a month.

The column of trucks and other vehicles is being labeled “God’s Army” and is now coursing through the state of Louisiana as it continues its journey to the Texas border with Mexico, according to NewsNation.

After a stopover in Denham Springs, Louisiana, the convoy is headed to Dripping Springs, Texas, near Austin, the news outlet added.



“When they said they were gonna cut the wire down there and let them start crossing the border again, nah uh, they need to close the borders. I grew up in Arizona, man, there was never a problem like that. This is crazy, our country is being overtaken,” one Nashville participant said, according to WAFB.

Louisiana state Sen. Valarie Hodges was on hand during the convoy’s stop in her state, and she urged her own governor to come to the support of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott.


“Honestly I would love to see Gov. [Jeff] Landry support Gov. Abbott with the National Guard, with whatever resources that we can do to help. Because really all states in America have become a border state, we’re all seeing this influx and being invaded as Gov. Abbott said. It is an invasion,” Hodges said.



“I don’t really know how it’s going to play out. I just applaud Gov. Abbott’s courage and the other governors who stand with him. Hopefully, it will make a difference. Hopefully, this is a wake-up call for President Biden and for Congress to say people are sick of it,” she added.



Driver Bruce Poppy insisted that it is time to “stand up” against the Biden government’s dangerous border failures.



“We need to stand up,” Poppy said. “Our voices need to be heard. We need to bring people together. … That’s our right, our First Amendment right to peacefully assemble and redress our grievances for our government. We have not be able to do that.”






Participant Y. G. Nyghtstorm also spoke to NewsNation about why many of the convoy participants have hit the road to make a statement about the state of the country and the failures at the border.



“With our President Joe Biden, I say that he’s been an absentee father for our country,” Nyghtstorm exclaimed. “He can protest everybody else and send resources to everybody else, but what about your family here at home? Charity begins at home.”







“You just can’t break into our home,” Nyghtstorm said of the millions of illegal border crossers. “We have to protect our house, and that’s what this is about. It’s not about violence. It’s about our love for our country and people coming together, standing for the right thing.”



Nyghtstorm also blasted the “propaganda” of the leftists who say that the members of the convoy are armed and dangerous.



“I tell ya, propaganda is so funny,” Nyghtstorm said, waving off the concerns as ridiculous. “We are not coming with violence … Anytime you try and do something good, there’s always somebody that’s going to have something negative to say.”



“The law is the law. Right is right. And we got to protect our house,” he said.



The organizers of the convoy said they also plan to stop in Eagle Pass, Texas, and San Ysidro, California. And they expect the convoy to continue growing as they go along.
