Little Caesars Crazy Puffs Copycat Recipe
Equipment
12 cup original size muffin pan
medium bowl
measuring cups & spoons
pastry brush
deep sheet pan
rolling pin or other small rounded kitchen item
Ingredients
12 each frozen rise & thaw dinner rolls
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp italian seasoning
1 small jar pizza sauce
1 pkg pepperoni slices
1 pkg mozzarella cheese, shredded
dried parsley
Instructions
In a medium bowl melt 1/2 cup butter. Stir in 1/4 tsp garlic powder & 1/4 tsp italian seasoning. Using a pastry brush coat the insides of a 12 cup muffin pan.
NOTE: place rest of melted butter mixture aside for later in the recipe.
Place 1 frozen "thaw & rise" dinner roll in the center of each muffin pan cup. Place the muffin pan on a sheet pan. Place in oven for 2-3 hours with the oven light on.
NOTE: do not turn oven on. The heat from oven light is enough heat to thaw & rise the rolls.
Once the rolls have thawed and risen, pull out of oven. Take the end of a rolling pin or other kitchen object small enough to place on top of each roll and push down to release air and press dough to edges creating a gully to fill with ingredients.
Using the remaining butter from earlier in recipe (melt in microwave, if needed) brush on the inside of dough hole.
Spread in 2 tsp of pizza sauce on the inside (on top of the melted butter). Sprinkle 2 TBS of mozzarella cheese on top of sauce. Place several slices of pepperoni quarters on top of the cheese. Top pepperoni with more mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle with dried parsley. Top with a whole pepperoni.
Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
Baste tops once more with remainder of butter mixture. Let sit in pan for a few minutes before removing. Serve up with your favorite marinara sauce if needed.
