6.6 magnitude earthquake strikes Bougainville region of Papua, NG April 14, 2013 – PAPUA, NG – An earthquake of 6.7 magnitude struck 46 miles west of Bougainville in Papua New Guinea on Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey said. There were no immediate reports of tsunami warnings or damage. Is there any of you besides me who now think "Oh, it's only a 6.6?" Even five years ago that would have been considered huge, but they're so common now they're almost a non-event.
