Florida Atlantic University Professor Says Boston Bombing A Fake “Mass Casualty Drill”
Before March, practically nobody outside of Florida had ever heard of Florida Atlantic University. That all changed with the “stomp on Jesus” scandal, which resulted in FAU’s humiliation and the teacher being placed on administrative leave. It now looks as if FAU is going for a two-fer when it comes to exposing the abysmally poor, not to say lunatic, quality of its faculty.
Communications professor James Tracy, along with the rest of the nation, watched the Boston bombing unfolding in real time. Normal people saw an Islamic, jihadist terrorist attack. Leftist media members saw lone wolves who were driven by American drones in Pakistan and Hollywood movies about the Iranian revolution to build pressure cooker bombs in their kitchen. Professor Tracy, distinguishing himself by going the paranoid lunatic route, insists that the whole thing is a fake.
On his personal blog, The Memory Hole, Tracy (who is in charge of teaching impressionable young students), claims that the Boston bombing was nothing more than a “mass casualty drill.” He contends that, rather than being a terrorist attack, “photographic evidence of the event suggests the possibility of play actors getting into position after the detonation of what may in fact have been a smoke bomb or similarly benign explosive.” He admits that he doesn’t have the answers about “what exactly took place on April 15 at the Boston Marathon,” but thinks that a best guess is a “drill.”
The event closely resembles a mass-casualty drill, which for training purposes are designed to be as lifelike as possible. Since it is mediated, however, and primarily experienced from afar through the careful assemblage of words, images, and the official pronouncements and commentary of celebrity journalists, it has the semblance of being for all practical purposes ‘real.’
Reports arising in the Boston bombing’s aftermath suggest how local authorities in possible coordination with the Department of Homeland Security were in the process of carrying out such drills, complete with the announcement of bombs being detonated and bomb-sniffing dogs present at the start and finish lines.
There’s no word yet on how Professor Tracy has explained away people such as Jeff Bauman or Celeste Corcoran, who both lost their legs below the knee in this supposed “mass casualty drill.”
This isn’t Tracy’s first foray into delusional conspiracy theories. He already made a name for himself after Sandy Hook when he claimed that “trained ‘crisis actors’ may have been employed by the Obama administration in an effort to shape public in favor of the event’s true purpose: gun control.” Unlike professors whose ranting is clearly politically motivated, Tracy’s politics are unclear. His insanity isn’t, though. With Jesus stompers and paranoid conspiracy theorists on its faculty, FAU must surely rank at the bottom of America’s universities.
