This thing is wrapped so tightly in controversy I cannot tell if it is real or not - I suppose we will all know soon enough, though!
If it IS going to happen, why would TPTB not say anything at all about it? Three entire days of darkness I imagine would be rather newsworthy!
I just now finished watching the 1998 movie Deep Impact - is the tail wagging the dog?

I've never seen Deep Impact, but we have a thread on the similarities here someplace. (Probably in Tin Hat.)
I gather no one knows what exactly the results of this thing's passing are going to be - will there just be a few days of darkness, or will it be an "extinction level event." (Well, we know it won't be that bad, but.....) I have read some theories that the gravitational pull of Elenin is causing everything from all the big earthquakes to the numerous sinkholes we're seeing worldwide.
I don't recall precisely, but in 2012 and Knowing, didn't the PTB not tell anyone what was going to happen in order to avert mass panic?
I member the "EE" and the end of the list in Knowing....EleEnin?
I guess I should see if Hulu or Netflix have Deep Impact and watch it.
I could easily see the rapture happening while the earth is shrouded in darkness, and no doubt all communications and power are out.

Well, this video doesn't show 3 days of darkness. If you manually run it forward it shows the sun being obscured from 9-26 at around the 7:00 DST, and reappearing on 9-27 at around the 21:00 DST mark. That doesn't sound like 3 days to me.  |

I didn't notice that. For some reason my computer - while it plays movies from Hulu with no problem - stops and starts on YouTube, which distracts me from a lot of things.
We should see what else we can find out about it; the consensus is it will be three days of darkness; I know that's what Pastor JD says.

All I know is that the earth survives for another 1000 years at least after the 2nd coming of Christ, so none of this stuff is going to cause an extinction level event, or destroy the earth. Period.

I agree with you, Shann0....it won't destroy the earth - all will be as Jesus has said....life as we know it, however, may look a bit different. (ie Japan is now looking a bit different).
I was merely pointing out that there are a few odd coincidences in that movie, that is all.
