Here they are, nine decades’ worth of grand prize-winning recipes! And while recipe trends and ingredients have changed over the years, when you look back over all these amazing Bake-Off™ winners, it’s easy to see that the creativity and talent of America’s home cooks has remained constant. As you make your way down the list of winners from the past 70 years, you might notice that there have actually been 57 winning recipes spanning a total of 51 contests. Here’s a quick crash course in Bake-Off™ history to explain why:



1949 to 1976: Bake-Off is held annually (except for 1965, when the contest is moved from October to the following February), with two winners per contest from 1972 to 1978.


1978 to 2012: Bake-Off is held every other year.


2013 and beyond: There are back-to-back contests in 2013 and 2014; after a three-year hiatus, the Bake-Off resumes in 2017.
