Dog Nurses Kitten Rescued From Anderson Co. RavinePosted: May 14, 2013 4:30 PM EDT Updated: May 15, 2013 11:14 AM EDT By WSPA Staff ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C, - An Anderson animal control officer rescued a dog which was nursing a kitten, at the bottom of a ravine. Someone called the police Monday morning and told them, she heard a dog barking for days at North Pointe Creek. The caller said she thought the dog may be stuck down an embankment, possibly in a deep ravine. Animal Control Officer Michelle Smith was sent to investigate. Shortly after she arrived, she found a small black and white dog, on the opposite side of a ravine, behind Home Depot. Officer Smith climbed down to get the dog. When she made it to the bottom, she discovered the dog was nursing a baby kitten. Officer Smith rescued both animals and took them to Anderson County P.A.W.S. Workers there say the mom is taking great care of her adoptive baby, keeping it clean and well fed. Anderson County P.A.W.S workers hope the dog's owner will come forward to claim her and the kitten. www.wspa.com/story/22250100/dog-nursing-kitten-found-trapped-in-a-ravine#.UZLpF2WpA6I.facebook
