A new report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has revealed that birth rates in the United States are continuing to plummet in an alarming downward spiral.
According to the report from the CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), the U.S. annual birth rate fell significantly again in 2023.
The data shows that birth rates have fallen by 2% since 2022, and 17% since reaching a peak in 2007.
The general fertility rate has also fallen by 21% during that time.
In total, there were 3,596,017 births recorded in the United States last year.
This was down from the 3,667,758 recorded during the previous year.
Births to females aged 15 to 19 declined significantly, by 4% from 2022 to 2023.
Just over 10% of births were premature in 2023, which is roughly the same as the previous year.
Early-term births (during the 37th and 38th week of pregnancy) rose by 2%.
“Since the most recent low in 2014, preterm birth rates have risen 9% and early-term births by 21%, while full-term and late- and post-term births have declined,” the NCHS team wrote.
The potential causes of the long-term decline are not discussed in the report.
However, the report aligns with previous data showing significant drops in birth rates.
As Slay News reported earlier this month, provisional data from the CDC revealed that the U.S. fertility rate reached a new low in 2023, marking a significant drop from 2022, which was also a history low.
In a new Pew Research Center study of 3,312 American adults, the group pointed to infertility, other medical issues, and a partner opposed to having children as reasons for childlessness.
The newly published data from the CDC reveals that birth rates have suffered a major drop since Covid mRNA shots were rolled out for published use in 2021.
Last year, when the data was published for 2022, prominent figures began raising the alarm over the fertility rate plunging.
At the time, X boss Elon Musk pointed out that the waning population poses an imminent threat to humanity.
The falling birth rates come as excess deaths have continued to surge since 2021, creating a looming population crisis.
As Slay News reported last month, a separate CDC report revealed that infant mortality rates have now soared to a record high.
Newly released CDC data shows that death rates for American babies spiked massively in 2022.
The surge marks the first jump in infant mortality rates in twenty years.
The surge in deaths for children under the age of 1 started in 2022, the year after Covid mRNA shots were rolled out for public use.
In June 2022, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) expanded the approval for Covid mRNA injection to be used on babies and toddlers aged 6 months to 5 years old.
According to data released by the CDC, more than 20,500 babies died in 2022 before the age of 1.
The final records show that, overall, there were 5.6 infant deaths for every 1,000 live births, a 3% increase from the year before.
Infant mortality in the US has been generally trending down since at least 1995, when consistent tracking started.
However, rates are still much higher in the U.S. than they are in many peer nations.
There have been some small upticks over that time.
However, 2022 was the first time there was a statistically significant increase since 2002, according to the CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics.
Experts are warning that any increase in infant deaths is cause for concern.
