Toasty Cheeseburger Sliders with Burger Sauce
Ingredients
1 (12-18 ct) package of king's hawaiian rolls or other slider buns
7 TBS melted butter; DIVIDED
8 slices cheese (american, cheddar or other favorite for hamburger)
8 oz monterey jack cheese, shredded
2 TBS dried minced onion
hamburger mixture
1 lb ground beef
1 medium yellow onion, chopped
1 tsp hamburger seasoning
1/8 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/8 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
burger sauce
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 TBS ketchup
1 TBS sweet relish
1 tsp mustard
1/4 tsp garlic powder
Instructions
Separate the tops & bottoms of slider rolls onto a lined large sheet pan with the inside facing upwards. Using a pastry brush, coat the buns with 1/2 of the melted butter.
Place into 400 degree preheated oven for 5 minutes or so until golden brown and toasty.
In a large skillet over medium high heat break up & brown ground beef. Add in onion during the browning of ground beef to soften up. Drain excess grease. Mix in hamburger seasoning, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Smash down the meat and allow to crisp up on the edges and bottom.
In medium bowl add in mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, mustard, and garlic powder. Mix well to combine.
Take the bottom portion of the toasted buns and place in a 9 x 13 baking dish buttered side up close together. Spread half of the burger sauce on the buns in baking dish.
Place sliced cheese on top of the sauce to cover all the buns in baking dish. Place the burger mixture all on top of the cheese evenly. Top with monterey jack shredded cheese.
Coat the buttered side of the top buns with the remaining burger sauce and place sauce side down on the cheese to form burger sliders.
Brush 3 TBS melted butter across the tops of the buns. Sprinkle the tops with dried minced onion.
Bake in 400 degree oven for 5-7 minutes until cheeses has melted and golden brown. Let sit for a few minutes and enjoy.
