Obama’s Attorney General Admits “Things Have Gotten A Little Out Of Whack” With DOJ Scandal

Obama’s Attorney General, Eric Holder, finally admitted that investigators went too far in attempts to prevent leaks to the media. He said the Department of Justice (DOJ) needs to do a better job balancing national security with freedom of the press.
Holder said on Wednesday, “I’m a little concerned that things have gotten a little out of whack. I think we can do a better job than we have. We can reform those regulations, reform those guidelines to better reflect that balance.”
That is just bureaucrat jargon for, “My shady behavior got caught… Crap.”
Holder has been under scrutiny lately due to the DOJ secretly obtaining Associated Press phone and email records. Especially disgusting was the unjust treatment of Fox News correspondant James Rosen. Holder said he was “not comfortable” approving a search warrant affidavit for Rosen’s emails, that characterized him as a criminal.
Reaction to the scandal from the mainstream media (which normally has nothing negative to say about the Obama administration), has ranged from annoyance to complete outrage.
Even though he approved the investigation, he blames the regulations for forcing his hand. Now (after he was caught, of course), he says the laws should be changed.

Holder said in an interview, “I don’t like that, because it means me as official who has great respect for the press, is in essence saying a reporter doing his or her job and doing that important job is somehow branded a criminal. I’m just not comfortable with that, we’re going to change that.”
So let me get this straight: Holder wants the laws to be changed, in order to prevent himself from unfairly collecting private email and phone records of reporters?
Riiight…
Many Republicans think Holder should resign for his actions, but the Attorney Genearl said he has “no intention” of stepping down. He said, “There are some things that I want to do, some things I want to get done that I have discussed with the president. And once I have finished that, I’ll sit down with him and we’ll determine when it’s time to make a transition to a new attorney general.”
Republican Darrell Issa, the chair of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee said of Holder, “it would be kind to say he misled Congress… It would be less kind and more accurate to say that would rise to be a lie by most people’s standards.”
The DOJ, on the other hand, has stuck by Holder: ”
The attorney general’s testimony concerning the potential prosecution of a member of the press,’ a spokesperson said, ‘was accurate and consistent with the facts’ related to that leak case. Federal prosecutors, the spokesperson continued, never ‘sought approval to bring criminal charges against the reporter.”
Good grief.
