Radical Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has issued a bizarre response to efforts in Congress to ban men from using women’s private spaces such as bathrooms.
According to Oacsio-Cortez, those seeking to ban men from female bathrooms are “endangering women.”
AOC issued the head-scratching take in response to the push by Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) and House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) to prohibit men claiming to be “transgender” from using women’s facilities.
“It’s disgusting,” AOC told reporters.
“And everybody, no matter how you feel on this issue, should reject it completely.
“They’re doing this so that Nancy Mace can make a buck and send a text and fundraise off an email.
“They’re not doing this to protect people.”
“They’re endangering women,” she added.
“They’re endangering girls of all kinds.
“And everybody should reject it. It’s gross.”

Ocasio-Cortez’s remarks come after Johnson signaled support for Mace’s measure to ban men from female-only spaces.
Mace’s measure would allow people to only use bathrooms, locker rooms, and changing rooms that correspond with their biological sex.
“All single-sex facilities in the Capitol and House Office Buildings – such as restrooms, changing rooms, and locker rooms — are reserved for individuals of that biological sex,” Johnson said in a statement.
“It is important to note that each Member office has its own private restroom, and unisex restrooms are available throughout the Capitol,” he added.
“Women deserve women’s only spaces.”
Mace’s move to enforce the ban comes as the House of Representatives prepares for the first transgender member to be sworn into office in January.
As Slay News reported, the newly elected congressman, Sarah McBride from Delaware, is a male who claims to be a “transwoman.”
Under current policies, McBride would be able to use the private, protected spaces reserved for women, such as bathrooms.
The bill introduced by Mace notes:
“Allowing biological males into single-sex facilities, such as restrooms, locker rooms, and changing rooms designed for women, jeopardizes the safety and dignity of Members, officers, and employees of the House who are female.”
The Sergeant-at-Arms of the House of Representatives would be in charge of enforcing the ban on men using facilities designated for women.
“Sarah McBride doesn’t get a say in this,” Mace told reporters.
“If you’re a biological man, you shouldn’t be in women’s restrooms.”
In response to the controversy, Speaker Johnson issued a statement to clarify his position.
Johnson told reporters in the Capitol:
“I just want to make a statement for all of you here and be very clear: I was asked a question this morning at the leadership gaggle, and I rejected the premise because the answer is so obvious.
“For anybody who doesn’t know my well-established record on this issue, let me be unequivocally clear: A man is a man, and a woman is a woman.
“And a man cannot become a woman,” he declared.
