Pelosi Rants 4th Of July Should Instead Be Used To Celebrate Obamacare

You don’t have to watch the whole video (God forbid!). Instead, just watch the first few minutes, during which Nancy Pelosi manages to claim that ObamaCare, which is a form of government tyranny that puts government in charge of our bodies, is the fulfillment of the Declaration of Independence and should therefore be celebrated on July 4th. Really. She believes that perpetual servitude to a currently indulgent government is the same as maximum freedom from government control:
We are here in front of the flags, as we go into the Fourth of July, to celebrate health independence. As you know, Social Security, Medi-Care have been pillars of stability in our society, and now Social Security, Medi-Care, and Health Independence, that’s the third pillar. (Emphasis in original.)

As we observe the Fourth of July, our Founders talked about a Declaration of Independence guaranteeing life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That is what this is all about. A healthier life, the liberty to pursue your happiness, not being job-locked, you can be a cameraman, a writer, you can be self-employed, start your own business, change jobs. You are free to do all of that. That’s very good for our society and good for our economy.

The woman is delusional. The government now dictates half the economy and controls what we can do with our bodies, not to mention killing jobs and, with the immigration bill, giving immigrants priority over Americans. This is bad for freedom as our lives our now encompassed by ObamaCare, and the economic doldrums the plague America belie her claim about economic benefits flowing from this Big Government monstrosity.
President Gerald Ford wasn’t known for his rhetoric, but he said one thing everyone would do well to remember: “A government big enough to give you everything you want is a government big enough to take from you everything you have.”
