(From Fred DeRuvo)
We knew it had to happen. I read last week on a website with a "DC Insider," that the race card was going to be played more and more over the next fifteen months as America approached the 2012 Presidential Elections. True to form, Mr. Obama did not wait long.
This past Thursday (August 11th), "At a small, exclusive New York City fundraiser Thursday night featuring the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow and movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, Obama compared himself and his agenda to that of Martin Luther King Jr.
And now that King has his own memorial on the Mall I think that we forget when he was alive there was nobody who was more vilified, nobody who was more controversial, nobody who was more despairing at times. There was a decade that followed the great successes of Birmingham and Selma in which he was just struggling, fighting the good fight, and scorned, and many folks angry. But what he understood, what kept him going, was that the arc of moral universe is long but it bends towards justice. But it doesn’t bend on its own. It bends because all of us are putting our hand on the arc and we are bending it in that direction. And it takes time. And it’s hard work. And there are frustrations." [1]
There are any numbers of thing wrong with the above statement made by our fearless leader. First of all, there is absolutely NO comparison whatsoever between Rev. King and Mr. Obama. King was a Christian. Obama is a Muslim. Second, King was fighting for equal rights between blacks and whites. Obama is fighting only for himself and his liberal agenda. Third, King was an intelligent man, willing to lay his life down if necessary for his beliefs. We are told Obama is intelligent, yet everything we see and hear belies that fact. Moreover, Obama seems more willing to take vacations than to deal with the tasks at hand with respect to this country.
The differences between King and Obama are stark and though it won't happen, I would think that people who knew Rev. King and supported him would likely be offended by Obama's brazen declaration that he is implicitly another Martin Luther King, Jr.
King was hated by racists. The implication of course from Obama is that he is hated by racists. The problem of course is that when people play the race card as continually as this particular administration has, it becomes a non-issue after a while. People do not like Obama because he is:
•inept
•self-serving
•counter-productive
•self-aggrandizing
•a liar
•acts like a dictator
•seemingly unconcerned about America's problems
•arrogant
•narcissistic
•much more
Mr. Obama is on the downside of his first term as president and his overall rating is at an all-time low of 39%. That percentage cannot simply be made up of "racists." It is made up of intelligent individuals who believe that Mr. Obama has not done what is best for this country, but instead has done what is best for himself and those who are various entitlement programs.
Mr. Obama has thrown one of our most treasured allies - Israel - under the bus because of the fact that his Muslim roots prohibit any alliance with the hated Jews. Mr. Obama has continued to spend more money than the Federal Gov't takes in and would continue to do so unchecked if it were possible.
In the end, I say go ahead, Mr. Obama. Continue to play the race card. People are wise to it and will grow extremely tired of the lies that are continually perpetrated by your administration.
Intelligent people see and understand for themselves. They see beyond the political correctness of the day, realizing that lies can only cover the truth for so long.
Mr. Obama's frustrations are of his own doing. He hates America and he hates white people. So does his good buddy Eric Holder. Together, these individuals work to bring havoc and chaos to the streets of America by literally pitting blacks against whites. They both turn the other way when blacks perpetrate hate crimes against whites. Any race/hate-crime is horrible and should not be tolerated, yet Holder picks and chooses.
Together, these individuals have pursued a course of action that ultimately wound up killing a U.S. border agent through the DOJ-inspired "Fast and Furious" gun runner program that was alleged to want to track illegally purchased guns in the United States to drug cartels in Mexico. It was a failed program from the beginning and what is the result? A dead border agent and Mr. Obama's decision to force legitimate gun dealers to report the sales of long rifles to the Federal Gov't; this in an attempt to cover their own stupidity in allowing "Fast and Furious" to occur at all.
Mr. Obama may delight in promoting himself as another Martin Luther King, Jr., but in the end all people, regardless of color, will see through it and understand that Rev. King stands heads above Mr. Obama in all respects. There is no comparison. It is but another cheap attempt by this administration to present Mr. Obama in a good light, when in point of fact, there is literally no way to honestly do that.
The liberal media wasted no time in digging up Rick Perry's college transcripts in the hopes of showing what kind of student he was when he attended college. They were disappointed. The larger question though is why have we not seen any college transcripts from Mr. Obama's days at Columbia? To this very day, we have seen nothing, yet Perry's transcripts are made public before the echo of his speech is gone announcing his candidacy for president. All the while, this same liberal media insists that they are not biased. Like Mr. Obama, they also believe that the average American is a moron, simply waiting to be spoon-fed information that they (the liberal media) believes is important for us to know.
The more Mr. Obama or his cronies (including the liberal media) play the race card, the more people will realize the truth. These are the cries of a very desperate man, who will stoop to new lows in the attempt to win a second term, so that he will be able to complete what he began with his current term: to destroy America, to bring this country to its knees. Such are the actions of a man whose passion lies in what he can do for himself. No, Mr. Obama, you and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. are nothing alike. You are polar opposites in nearly all respects.
We knew a great deal more about Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. than we know about Mr. Obama, yet true to form, Mr. Obama has the temerity to compare himself with a man who literally gave up everything in order to not only increase the awareness of the inequality between the races, but in effect, gave up his life for it. What has Mr. Obama given up? I cannot think of one thing. If you're not on some entitlement program, can you?
