Chemical-Free Cleaners Hiding in Your Pantry
FIGHT GRIME THE ALL-NATURAL WAY! RAID YOUR PANTRY FOR THESE SUPER-SIMPLE CLEANING SOLUTIONS -- AND LEAVE THE TOXIC STUFF AT THE DRUGSTORE.
Cornstarch
It’s a staple for gravies, stews...and carpet stains! Just mix it with water to make a paste and treat on the spot. Its absorbing power will soak up the stainCorn starch is great when clipping dogs nails if you clip them too short to get the bleeding to stop bleeding. if you get a grease spot on your shirt or blouse rub some cornstarch into the spot let it sit a few minutes anb brush it out with a soft-bristled brush. absorbs a lot of that grease!
Ice
Clean your garbage disposal with ice. The sharp edges of the crushed cubes with get out all the food that is trapped in the disposal. Never put fruit peel in your disposal. It smells good for a minute however the pieces get stuck in there and begin to mildew after a while
Vanilla Extract
Clean the microwave and leave it smelling sweet with this household trick! Mix 2 cups of water and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract in a microwave-safe container, and zap it on high for five minutes. When it's done, remove the container and wipe down the interior of the oven. Any gunk should slide right off
Baking Soda
Mix with water to create a natural cleaner that’s great for everything from dirty sneakers to scuffs on walls. We love to use it to clean stainless steel in the kitchen without scratching. Sprinkle baking soda onto a clean, damp sponge or cloth, and wipe the sink clean; then rinse thoroughly.
Bread
It’s not just the best part of your sandwich. Bread is also great for dusting paintings that can be harmed by traditional cleaners. And its naturally sticky texture is great for picking up small pieces of broken glass
Coffee Filter
Wipe down all TVs, computers, other screens and mirrors with a coffee filter (minus the brew grounds!), and voila, dust-free! coffee filters can also be use to strain used oil and are far cheaper than buying oil filters! You can also use coffee filters at the bottom of plants...so when you water, the dirt doesnt come out the holes in the bottom of your pot!
Eggshells
Having trouble cleaning narrow-necked bottles and vases? Drop a handful of crushed eggshells into the bottle, add warm water and a squirt of dishwashing liquid, and swirl it around. The shells will scrape off any hard-to-reach spots.
Hydrogen Peroxide
Whiten Clothes – An Alternative to Bleach
Add a cup of Peroxide to white clothes in your laundry to whiten them. Peroxide is great to get rid of blood stains on clothes and carpets. If there is blood on clothing, just pour directly on the spot, let it sit for about a minute, then rub and rinse with cold water. Repeat if necessary.
Health~
Your body makes Hydrogen peroxide to fight infection which must be present for our immune system to function correctly. White blood cells are known as Leukocytes. A sub-class of Leukocytes called Neutrophils produce hydrogen peroxide as the first line of defense against toxins, parasites, bacteria, viruses and yeast.
Rejuvenating Detoxifying Bath~Use about 2 quarts 3% Hydrogen peroxide to a tub of warm water. Soak at least 1/2 hour, adding hot water as needed to maintain a comfortable water temperature
