Rob Bell: Making It Up As You Go Along

"I went to Rob Bell's page and was reading the posts. They posted to one woman that was posting scripture on the page to "get the f*** off of the page. Only they spelled it out. Then I prayed for them and they deleted my prayer."
Curious, I went to Rob Bell's FB page, and it's amazing what you find posted there! It seems those who post sound doctrine get attacked; there's a mess of confusion and false teachings; they're making up a religion that suits them as they go along. What's frightening is that millions look to Bell as the source of "truth," and are buying into his lie that "God is love" (only) while they ignore His justice and holiness.
It seems that real truth is hard to come by even in so-called "Christian" circles.
Some examples, taken directly from his FB page:
In Sex God, Rob questions that if a couple lives together long enough, God may see it as marriage.
The issue of 'Hell' is only a small part of the problem. The moment Eve ate the fruit God changed...from being loving and kind to becoming an unforgiving, vindictive, judgemental, hate-filled, wrathful enemy toward man. Sure Jesus was a live innocent human sacrifice to appease God's wrath and to change him back into being nice to us, but the real issue is not 'hell', it is...God's character...God needs to change to become more like us...are we unforgiving, judgemental, hate-filled, wrathful enemies who inflict torment, pain, suffering and death on our disobedient children, do we demand human sacrifice to appease our wrath?
I was just coming from Satan's angle...and from an atheists angle...but the church has no defence against this because it believes God changed toward us when Eve ate the fruit, it believes Gods wrath needed to be appeased, it believes the sacrifice was to make God forgive us, it believes God burns us in hell...etc... Therefore...did Satan get it wrong, do atheists get it wrong, has the church got it wrong....? The gospel as we know it has God being changed in Eden and God needing fixing through a human sacrifice...hell is only a small part of our misinterpretation of the true eternal gospel which is...God is love.
If God never changes, then he may turn on us again, he may choose to be unforgiving again, he may curse us again, he may find a new reaso9n to burn us in hell...
Rainbow...like the one God showed after he killed everyone on the face of the earth because he couldn't tolerate them in his presence....like I said, do we tolerate our naughty children, do we drown them in anger and intolerance? All I am saying is that the God the church believes in, very closely resembles the God Satan believes in...and as Satan deceived himself by believing his own lies, so the church has deceived herself through the construction of a gospel that undermines the truth about God...he is love and love is tolerant, love never gets angry, love always forgives...love does not demand death, love does not demand human sacrifices.
Kirsten.. are you saying that the evil side of God is more advanced than ours and that it is 'just'...and Evan, what if Martin Luther thought it foolhardy to try straighten branches to save them from being pruned off?
The gospel/plan of salvation the church teaches...it assumes God is lawless. God cursed us because of sin, God is the cause of death, God solved the problem by using Jesus as a substitutionary live innocent human blood sacrifice through which he forgives us, God saves those who trust in this human sacrifice performed 2,000 years ago, and torments in hell those who don't. This God breaks his law (the one he kills us for not keeping) to save us. He uses sin and death to save us from sin and death...spot the problem. And the Church has spent nearly two thousand years developing this interpretation of the sacrifice and blood, (it was originally adopted into the church from paganism in the days of Constantine) and we wonder why we have ended up believing in "Carnal Christianity"....the hell theory is built upon a false premise.... it is this Babylonian false understanding of the sacrifice and blood that we must come out of.
The sad thing is I read Rob Bells book I felt hope, I felt joy, I felt positive about what God is doing, I even felt like going to check out a church, but this website has robbed me of it all, thanks a f@@kin lot, now all I feel is anger I hope you pricks are proud of yourselves and I am not apologising for a damn thing that I have said, some people need to be knocked off their f@@kin high horses and stop using scripture to disguise their, arrogant, stuck-up, superior attiitudes towards others all in the name of Christ and their so called desire "to save them". You are not leading anyone to Christ with those sort of sh*t attitudes in actual fact you are turning them away and that includes me.
